Roll out some snakes of green stuff. point one end, put a radius bend on it. Roll out a small pancake about the same radius as a pencil eraser. build up the ends of the pancake and put the tusks in it.. then place this on the Stegadon anywhere you like.

He almost qualifies as a Marine Sergeant model! Bald? Check. Yelling? Check. Skulls? Check. Pointing? No.

Nope, keratin(same as hair and nails).

But dino horns are actually bone extensions.

1) It has always bugged me that GW sold a triceratops model and called it a stegadon. stegadon is so close in name to stegosaurus. It just felt like GW was trying to confuse kids.

2) an army of dinosaurs riding dinosaurs is only one thing away from being so much awesome that your general is named "awesomeosaurus" and just placing your army on the table counts as a win.......

Lasers.

I can almost hear the new model scream "Ima chargin mah lazer!"

Brontosaurus was unfortunately an accident. It was an apatosaurus (I think that's the spelling) with it's head on the end of it's tail rather than it's kneck. It never existed. But I agree, a 25mm sauropod would rox0r.
I love the carnasaur, and the salamanders. But the stegadon doesn't do it for me. The more I look at it, the more I just think...chubby.

I also love the presence of the Dimetradon in that picture, an animal that wasn't a Dinosaur and is more closley related to mammals than lizards...

I actually like this model a lot. Does it look different then what we've come to expect? Yup. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Nope. I guess the biggest thing for me is just the mere fact that every army is getting a big plastic something or other now. That's fantastic.

It has the head of a Triceratops, the body of an Ankylosauria, and named more like a Stegosaurus. It was indeed funny.

Ultimately, I dig it. And in plastic? Fantastic.

Somebody said the critter was more "modern" and I agree, fits in better with the other ranges. And like the carnosaur, it's a nice mash of real dinos instead of any single one, vs the old stegasaur/cow thing. The face / expression is a low point, but the howdah is pretty sweet. Much more expanded, integrated bolter, room for the skinks to a) fit and b) do stuff?! I wonder how the other versions will look.

As to the comments about "SKULLZ, NOES!" I actually think lizardmen are one of the few - chaos, undead - armies that ought to have them around, particularly as decorations. Coming from a quasi-Aztek fluff background I think it works as a decorative aesthetic
