As much as i hate needles , i have sort of grew up accustomed to being hurt by it lol.

My mom leaves sewing needle / floral wires around. And we have long carpet so sometimes it digs itself into it.

And of course when i run around....

The worst time was when i slide around the carpet with socks on , slid right over floral wire. 5 inches of wire went right into my foot ><

I've had 5 tetanus jabs over the years. My first ones were as a kid and compulsory, so don't count.

My third was in 1987, 10th of March. A friday, an hour before quitting time. Cut my thumb at work, requiring 7 stitches. Tet jab. No reaction.
Fourth (1990) was for another work related injury. 4 stitches (finger+leg). No adverse reaction (no swelling, pain, etc).
Fifth (1999): Another work accident. Loose nail in a cargo (wooden) pallet gouged into my leg (it was summer, so I was wearing shorts). Fortunately, it didn't rip, but pushed the flap of skin up into the wound, sealing it. Tet jab, + cleanup and 2 stitches.

Arm swelled up this time, ran a fever, had two (more) days off work. Couldn't use arm at all for those days.

Guess I'd just finally built up enough antibodies or tolerance to generate a reaction.

Needles hold no fear. The smell of hospitals, though, makes my BP rise (it's the smell of the disinfectant).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Indeed. Hospitals give me a bad case of the uncomfortableness too. Smells like pain and worse.

Most men have a fear of being anally raped.

But not me, I can tell you that.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. I also have a fear of nursing homes. I use to get dragged to one to see my grandma. It smelled of pee and brussel sprouts. Every single time, the same odor, no matter what execrable glob they fed them that day. I'm gonna end it before I find myself in one of those places.

I'm not a big fan of heights, even to the point where heights in games and movies scare the crap out of me.

I'm also not a big fan of elevators. It probably doesn't help that as I was getting into one, I ended up peeking down the shaft. Which wouldn't of been so bad if I wasn't 9 floors up, and there weren't lights on in there ><

Needles and spiders also kinda freak me out, not really bad though. Unless their in the mouth...

needles OR spiders, that is :p
Probably doesn't help that I had a cortizone (I think) injection in my arm, and my arm ended up so stiff I couldn't move it for a week.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Did you know that your muscles look a lot like the pork you get in chinese pork fried rice? You should see actual surgeries they're a lot better than tv surgery shows.

There's a website filled with taped surgeries, they have a heart transplant on there and its really cool. For a good minute, the guy didn't have a heart but was kept alive through machines.

I have no trouble seeing blood, as long as its not coming from me in large quantities. I also don't enjoy seeing under my own skin, an x-acto knife gave me that privilege. Finished the leman russ an hour after putting a band aid on the cut.

I have absolutely no problem watching surgery ( if not for sanitary reasons i could even feel ok to eat there! )

however.... seeing pics of accidents ( car crash , murder and such ) .... it freaks me out.

I watched a surgery and it was on the guy's lower back. He ripped out some of the spine and showed me the sac surrounding spinal cord, its awesomely yellowish/whitish.

During the surgery though, they ordered out for pizza.

Lets see I have a few;

Needles - I just don't like the feeling of them going into your skin at all.

Wasps, Bees in fact anything that flies and can sting you.

Heights - not too bad on tall buildings but standing on top of Mt Vesuvius in Italy made me pass out.

And my last one is completely irrational but Zombies, I just don't trust em, I really should be buying that Spaz 12 I keep talking about getting just encase there is zombie mischief afoot

Ok I'll take a swing at this.
1. Needles - used to be deathly afraid of these, now they don't bother me at all. (can't be afraid of something after you live through it being near your twig and berries)
2. Snakes - Hate them I see them and get the axe and kill them.
3. Wasps/Bees - Allergic so I hate them.

I'm really afraid of very little. but i think all 'normal' fears have been concentrated in my one phobia.

Snakes. Holy I am afraid of them so much. If someone even mentions that there *might* be one nearby i start freaking out. If i actually see one, well i just lose it. strangely enough i'm absolutely fascinated by them. I love to read about them, I name all my Tau Army stuff after snakes (Theres also alot of Metal Gear Solid references there though). But if there's snakes about, and I don't have a 2 or 3 minutes warning to prepare myself, I roll double 6's.

I was reminded this weekend of my fear of child-based germs. Basically if I see a child touch my food, napkin, glass, etc... I lock up and refuse to use it after them. I guess I see all children as little Nurglings.

Better get over it soon though, or not eat around my future son.
