There is a bike Character in the form of Sammael for the Dark Angels that is a box set.

Dark Angels are a major chapter with their own Codex, though.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Well, Space marines are a major army with their own codex and hes in it. To not have a bike model is just stupid. At least put out a captian on a bike plastic kit. Now that would be cool.

I don't see why he has to hold it two-handed. Moonfang isn't a relic blade, it's a power sword that is a White Scars relic. He could have been modelled with one hand holding the blade, the other with two different hands. One hand holding a bolt pistol and the other modelled to grip a handle bar, kinda like the SM Termie Librarian. Then have the upper and lower torso seperate with an additional pair of legs for sitting on a bike. Have additional pieces to go on a regular SM bike to customize that. Kinda like they did with Chronus. Then people would just have to buy a SM biker for the bike.

Is he on a bike in those rules?

Still, I think the priority list is Space Marines, Space Marines with their own Books, Space Marines that are oddball variants, Imperial Guard, Game Variants, and Xenos in that order.

The way you say that it sounds like you work at a day care or with mentally disabled. Problem with Khan is that the model is probably three or four pieces (torso, hands holding sword, backpack and whatever else)

Okay, so he can be "easily" sawed in half and mounted on a bike...

Except for the fact that he's holding a two-handed fething sword, and it's a metal model. You'd be better off taking a regular plastic Marine on bike and just converting it yourself if that were the case, since the only usable part of the entire model would be his chest and head.

Really, really stupid move on GW's part, but I guess that's what they'd call par for the course. It just wouldn't be GW if they made sense.

Exactly what I thought then I came across this. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1400018&prodId=prod1400027

I suppose they want you to buy this and a space marine bike as well as Khan then do a head and weapon swap and pop him on the bike.

It does make sense...for them from a placement, packaging and production standpoint. Of course, the irony in this case is that the actual product isn't all that useful to the customer. I think this example -- like some others we've seen lately -- shows what's important to GW and where their heads are these days. *shrug*

You know who this guy is, right? The fact that he doesn't have a bike is just a tad relevant considering that anyone who uses him will almost definitely be taking the god-damned bike! There's very little point in taking him on foot so the fact that you can only buy the on-foot version is more than a little silly...

Other than that yeah, it's a good sculpt. But still...why?

I agree with Sidstyler.

I mean, come on. This is like making a Sammael model without a bike. Chaos Spiky Marines without Spikes. It shouldn't happen. Ever.

Even I thought that GW had a few brain cells. Guess not.

To repeat my question from earlier, do his rules have him on foot or on a bike? Or options for both?

yeah,
This is probabily the most important observation in this thread.
It's kinda implied that it's a relic blade, but it doesn't actually say it...
The model and the codex art Show a two handed blade...

Relic blade - two handed - Kor'Sarro Khan will have 3 attacks at str6 in combat.
Power Sword - single handed - Kor'Sarro Khan will have 4 attacks at str4 in combat. (he has a pistol)

It's a bit messy...

Huh. Then I have to admit it is a little weird. I'm surprised, as I thought most special characters were still zero-options.

Because standing heroically, screaming, and pointing with your sword/axe/crozius is soooo original.

I like this model cause it's not doing that. Same reason I like the DA captain, he's not screaming and pointing with his sword.

This model has me completely irritated. Why cannot GW produce a nice, useful and original model for a character that hasn't gotten a model yet? We have like three Calgar versions, but when they make a monster like Khan, they just copypasta a Vanguard vet and call it a day. The obvious thing to have done would have been to either:

a) sculpt ONLY a bike model, even if it was just the torso-up

b) sculpt a pose that would have been easy to convert

If GW doesn't want to do the work to make an outstanding model, then why not just have open sculpting contest with the winner recieving a prize. GW gets all rights to the model and the modeller gets a cash prize or somthing comparable.

There's three Calgars because they made one model for him in the late 80s, one around 1994, and one around 2005. I think that's perfectly reasonable.

Honestly, I think the model is okay by it's own merits. Much nicer than the model for Vulkan, which is even more overdetailed than this one and lacks something even resembling a dynamic pose. Still a bit baffling that there's no modeled bike option, but whatever. They'll probably rename the "White Scars Commander Conversion Pack" to "Khan on Bike Conversion Pack" and call it a day.

This actually seems pretty easy to model on a bike after taking a better look at it

just need a good razor saw and some GS.

Cut him in half, giving you a top section and waist downwards.
cut the legs so they can be positioned onto the footwells of a bike, position the waist area onto the bike and use GS to join the gaps and cover any mistakes (hopefully none)

cut the left hand from the sword.
cut the left arm off.
seperate the shoulder pad section for use later on.
use a biker arm with the metal shoulder section + GS to pose it holding the bike bars. (shouldnt be too much work)
cut and position the right arm to look like he is swinging the sword.

As i said, not much work atall
ok, it may seem like alot of work, but it should take no longer than an hour or 2.
and by doing it this way you keep all the detail on the model.

No kidding. As I build my WS successor army, it astounds me to realize that the only characters offered on bikes are either Ravenwing (Sammael) or a chaplain. Neither of which is really a good source for generic captain-worthy bikes or riders, as they're both too encrusted with iconography that'd have to be cut off/repurposed.
