edit to be a smart ass.

I see little advantage in descending a ladder for 15 or so feet from a portal say 100 feet above the ground especially when all there is at the end of the descent is a blank wall. What is the purpose of the ladder and why is it so outsized compared to similar accessories on other vehicles such as the access ladders behind the sponsons on a Baneblade. The rungs are too far apart and the width would accomodate two men at the same time. Bringing a mobile loading bridge to the end of a ladder as opposed to the exit portal seems to me no real advantage.

You are of course 100% correct. I was just being a smart ass.

Do these Warlords have a good sales value? I was thinking, if I made a few, I could sell them off on eBay or something. What would the going rate be if it was on par with the one in the first post?

Well it's not mine, but I think it's had the description of 'Dreadclaw' attached to it. I'm guessing it was at some kind of GW event, for some reason I seem to be thinking it was at a German Gamesday.

We seem to be going too far afield on this thread and while I am interested in the various titans submitted I would like to keep this thread dedicated to Warlord Titans and those scratchbuilts that copy the standard Warlord Titan in overall look and size exclusively. My aim is to replicate a full scale (28mm scale) Warlord Titan incorporating the best building techniques and materials and to that end would like to keep the thread focused on that.

To my mind the Warlord is the definitve Battle titan and stretching the limit of credulity as far as size. The Emperor class is just too big and the overturned peach basket shaped lower legs and skinny thighs and waist are ludicrous. The castle shaped shoulders are also not what I have in mind when I imagine a battle field titan.

I believe the Warlord as pictured elsewhere on this thread could properly be catagorized as a Lucius Pattern Warlord. The Reaver Titan produced by FW is a Mars Pattern. Has anyone seen or have any pictures of a Lucius Pattern Reaver or a Mars Pattern Warlord?

Thank you for your participation,

The narrowly focused Blackadder

Personally I never really liked the look of an Imperator titan, until I saw it in that style. Lucius pattern is cool as hell.

Yes time is a factor including in my case. I can only devote a couple of hours in the wee hours of the morning before I go to work and I have this never ending scratchbuilt Warhound project to finish which I hope will be done by August first.

If we can get enough interest we can start building tutoral on this thread with step by step instructions and assistance for those who need help With our mutual heads together the best way to do things will materialize. I for one am looking forward to it. It will be easy to build with the right incentive and a group project will provide that.

All ya gotta do is wanna,

Here's a link to Forgeworld's Lucius-Pattern Reaver Titans. One can only pray that a Lucius Pattern Reaver is in the works for the 40k scale.

The pictured Reaver is excellent but the Epic Reavers in the link leave a lot to be desired. One gets the feeling that they were designed solely to look different from the Warlord and very little thought went into the actual artistic concept. They have a decided droopy round shoulderness that denotes weakness and one would almost expect them to walk pigeontoed which would make them the laughing stock in the battlefield instead of an intimidating war machine.

Decidedly the Edsel of the titans,
