Sadly we in the UK can't enjoy the classic goodness, because of the BBC's strict no-advertising rule (it is instead publicly funded via TV License fees)

The link works fine for me.. short advert and then the trippy old music and B & W intro kicks in.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Some questions:
1) Do people like David Tennant as the Doctor?
2) What do people think of this "Im the last of the Time Lords" thing?
3) What did people think the episode "Midnight" where that weird things takes of the lady and she copies there speach?
I think Doctor Who needs a new big enemy, like the Daleks or the Cybermen, its getting boring now they keep bringing back the same old enemys over and over.
I like the Daleks and find them interesting and all, but they need a new BIG enemy.

1. Yes, he'll be hard to replace, but the new face and characterisation is part of the character's appeal.
2. I prefer it, it's too awkward otherwise explaining what all the other Time Lords are doing, without making them all massive wads.
3. ...err... no idea what you're saying here I'm afraid.
He has lots of existing enemies and alien foes.
I'd like to see something done with the Silurians .

The episode midnight where there stuck on a planet in a weird space car thing, they cant go outside caouse there get burnt to death, the planet is made of diamands and its like a tourist resort thing.
They crash and some thing takes over a lady, she sharts repeating everything everyone says.
Ring any bells?
I would like to see some more old enemys back, not just daleks and cybermen.

I too would like to see a new big enemy.
But not the Slitheen. They just weren't even remotely scary. Ambitious yes, well designed, kind of. Just. Not. Scary.
1. Yup, DT was a brilliant Doctor. Hopped from silly to serious like an acrobat. Especially in Waters of Mars.
2. Meh. I don't mind it, but I really hope they undo it (Which it seems they might)
3. I quite liked Midnight as an episode. Could have done with the supporting cast being better actors, but otherwise worked quite well.

The very first adventure I remember seeing of the doctor was when he and his companions were captured by cavemen. That was back in the old black and white days and it was a total weekly "hide behind the sofa while peeking over the top" event for the brother, sisters and myself.
I've gotten my daughter hooked on the doctor now and I think I'll make a doll sized Tardis for her for Christmas or her upcoming birthday.
As a side note, after watching several episodes, my 3 and five year old now pronounce doctor without using the "r" at the end because they think that's the way the word is said.

WOOHOO! 4 hours and 15 minutes until it the end begins! GET IN! And I would like to point out, that other than Dr Who, there is precisely sod all on the Terrestrial Channels this year. No film premieres, no original programming, apart from Justin Lee Cockface's insipid, overhyped tripe. Oh arr, and Relapse, the first adventure you remember seeing was indeed the first adventure ever 'An Unearthly Child'. The early ones really are rather good, just a shame about the picture quality in them. Automatically Appended Next Post: That was well worth the wait! No spoilers just yet though.

The Christmas episode was amazing, i will truelly miss David Tennent, he has been one of the best doctors and is definetly in the top three.
the ending of the firts half is looking like its gonna be good.
on the midnight episode question, i think its one of the best episodes of that season, the enclosed space episodes are usually good as long as they are not that often.

I didn't overly care for it. I've thought ever since the davros episode that they are just rehashing all the time.
It's all been so full of tenuous plot strand link-ups and tie-ins. Trying to be too clever for it's own good when all I really want is a bit of an adventure. Whilst Cribbens is a great old fella, the SAGA holiday mob of pensioners was overly shmultzy and still having donna in it sucks ass. I loathed her.
Martha Jones was the best of the bunch and she got very little in return, being the rebound girl after Rose and then dumped for the awful 'AM I BOVVERED' Donna character.
Martha was short changed. She's like the Deep Space 9 of Doctor Who Companions.

The new doctor looks kinda of emo. Im also wondering how they can make up a reason for the return of the Time Lords. Also who is the main Time Lord guy you see in the trailer?

Is it just me or did they really stretch the material for the Christmas special. The whole episode felt padded out. Looking forward to 'the end' though.

The Christmas special for me was a horrendous affair and the Timelords coming back has ruined the ENTIRE thing for me now it was drawn out badly acted rubbish from start to finish...
If this is where Who is going I for one am going to jump ship before it goes down in flames rather embrassingly I may watch the next part of The End Of Time on new years day but I hope to god my stubborn side doesnt let me.
As far as Im concerned I and Who are done....

it'll be the same way the darleks kept coming back, the one problem with the new stories is the constant 'this is what is set in stone..........oh well, we might as well go back on our premise.' mentality the writers have got, the stories are well written and entertaining but if you are gonna go with the whole time war think be consistant

I like Donna Noble. I like the fact that she's not a love interest, because the Doctor shouldn't fall in love with an alien species for god's sake.
And, to be honest, David Tennant has pulled ahead of Tom Baker for me. Just by a smidge, mind. Sylvester McCoy is a close third.
And Ace will always be my favorite companion.

Up to now, I've quite liked the series, apart from the Doc's wussiness (saving the world by getting everyone to say "Doctor" at the same time...(facepalm)). I watched the first episode of "The End of Time" yesterday and it was absolute...well saying what I thought would get me banned from here. Even my friend/ex who's a massive Doc Who freak thought it was crap.

If the Timelords come back, ie. are released from the Timewar then that opens the floodgates and the Daleks are just the beginning.
When is the Doctor going to admit the Daleks are his fault?

New Years Day cannot come fast enough.
The Doctor and 7 billion insane Masters versus the entire Time Lord race.
Will The Doctor wipe out his own race for a second time?
Will The Master save time itself?
Are the two young men behind Tim Dalton with their head in their hands actually The Doctor and The Master as children?
Will Wilf kill The Doctor?
Will Donna remember and if so, will she die or will SHE regenerate into Matt Smith?
I am overloading with Whovian excitement and I had better stop this post before my brain melts.
All I know is that if The Doctors' new assistant crosses my path, she won't be walking again for quite some time.
