The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Ooh, is that Goldswords I spy in the Empire set? Bit of a bonus considering they normally cost 25% of the Brigade selling price

It is indeed. I made it around a £39 saving or so on the Empire box. Pretty nifty.

I'd be tempted to buy that case if it was pink...

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

If the "Savings" are coming off of the Goldswords price, it isn't much of a savings. Or is it?
And the Fortress... So tempting...
Is it a splash/limited release? ( GW site blocked from work)

The Fortress is NOT a splash release. Not hard to figure out why either. I'm sure they want every opportunity to make their money back on the molds for that and a nice profit too. It's a cool piece and I hope it succeeds so there will be other great models of similar size and detail down the road. It amazes me when employers block access to the GW site. It's not like you can actually play games there. Years ago I had the same problem at work. I used to check the site once per week literally for 2 minutes to see the new releases, then one day found the site blocked, probably because the word "Games" appears in the name. Meanwhile, I had coworkers who spent all day reading online sports pages on news sites and those were never blocked.

Glad I got a White Dwarf subscription figure while it was Fantasy. I can't imagine a Dwarf 40k figure being useful at all unless.. unless they re-release a particular 40k army.

Or as a member of an Inquisitorial Retinue.
Until they get Squatted too, of course!

Yeah, all-Inquisitor armies aren't long for the living folks. Enjoy them while you have 'em.
Anyway, I do want to see some sprues for this thing because I want to know if it is modular at all. It'd be useful to know what options you have, and would be, in a way, odd for GW to release something with fewer options than its other kits ( GW kits have been heading into the absurd realms of customisability - the complete opposite of their rules, ironically enough - so releasing a very 'set' kit would be strange).
As for a 'splash release', it could be. By that I don't mean that when it's gone it's gone, but I mean it's available everywhere (and by everywhere I of course mean Maelstrom Games) for a while, and then made direct only. The same thing is happening with the Imperial Strongpoint (2 Bastions/3 Defensive Lines) and Imperial Sector (several CoD buildings). They're Direct Only right now, but are coming back in Christmas to all retailers, but then probably going away again.
So while I doubt the Fortress is going anywhere - it's a big plastic kit and you do not release that for a limited time only when it's a big plastic multi-part kit (Space Hulk notwithstanding) - it may not be available everywhere forever.

Alright, they brought back the luggage bags! I love the Troop Transport bag I got to carry the two cases for my Necrons. Been wishing I had a Fast Attack bag as I've been hauling my conversion and painting tool to the FLGS a lot lately, so I may have to see about picking one up this time around.
