Well...pics or GTFO then.
Sorry, but I find it a tad annoying to get called out for apparently not "reading the thread", when in fact I did and just ignored all the bs people who didn't know were talking out of their ass. Necros doesn't know what the contents are anymore than the rest of us do, in fact I just assumed his post was a joke (trygon in a battleforce? lolz you people believe that?).

Dude why are you attacking Necros personally? Just because someone says something that you don't agree doesn't mean they're trolling or joking. That's the worst part about dakka, people just dismiss you as a troll when say something that makes them angry or upset.

Personal attack? That's a bit of a stretch, all I said was he didn't know any more than we did.
Fine, I heard the battleforce will have 24 gaunts, 3 warriors, and 6 raveners. Discuss.

Re-read my post, nowhere did I accuse you of making personal attacks.
As for the battleforce, that seems unlikely, GW would never put two of a new kit that isn't troop. It sounds like you just made that up.

Errr..."Why are you attacking Necros personally?" isn't an accusation of a personal attack. Just sayin'.
I'm actually hoping the battleforce includes a bunch of the mid-sized Tyranids. That'd really make my day, assuming they're usable now. Warriors, Raveners, and maybe a Zoanthrope or Lictor or something fleshed out with Gaunts and Gargoyles. Basically, I hope they replace the Carnifex with mid-sized stuff. That would make my day.

They would never put metal models in battleforces.

I think it's a lot more likely than the trygon being included.
It sounds like you just made that up.
Nuh uh! I'm 101% sure those are the contents of the new battleforce! A redshirt told me!

Nice work, sidstyler! You managed to get an inside in GW! At least thats more credible that other sources.
I ask forgiveness from the guy I quoted. I caused him to carry all the blame for me repeating information I acquired from another user without actually being aware of the arrival of a new tyranid battleforce before reading this thread...Necros, maybe this wasn't a personal attack, but just sidstyler being pissed by unworthy sources and unfounded rumours in general?

I'd say a redshirt is actually less credible than random forum guy, personally...
I'll admit that I underestimated the size of the trygon, it's actually smaller than a drop pod by the look of things, but I still don't see them including it in a battleforce. Not unless you can take 6-9 of them in your army anyway, doesn't really make much sense to me.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. The worst part of all this secrecy is that I would have been buying new models for the last 4 months straight if I knew which models wouldn't be pure gak in the new codex.
As it stands, I won't be buying any new models until at least a week or so after the codex comes out because I don't want to waste my money.

Seems like a waste to me. I don't find worthless/detrimental units "fun" and they would never end up on the table.
I'm also finding it harder and harder to field stuff that just looks cool. What's the point if I lose all my games and said cool model bites it on turn 1 or 2 all the time?

Have you tried broadening? If you think of your hobby as 'Warhammer" or "Games Workshop Games" that is really, really focused. Move back a step to 'Wargames' and there's a lot of other games out there: Warmachine, Flames of War, Battletech, Heavy Gear Blitz. The main issue is finding other players, but all of these have active communities that will help with that kind of thing.
in a thread complaining about price, i don't think it's a good idea to suggest DP9's heavy gear as a good alternative, lol. 5 metal minis the size of a space marine for $40 USD? that's not saving you anything since gw charges the same for 5 metal minis boxed sets. they might be nice looking but to suggest they're a cheaper alternative per mini is funny.

The Tyranid Battleforce has (had) a Carnifex, 3 Warriors, 8 H-Gaunts, 8 T-Gaunts and 8 Genestealers (plus two bases of Rippers).
It was actually a really good deal. Picked up three sets of Carnifex torsos back when GW still sold sprues (something they could still do if they had any brains over there), and three battleforces. Kick started my 'Nid army (which was made of mostly 2nd Ed models) quite well.

For me the lack of info isn't a big deal. That and GW keeping a lid on things keeps people from knowing the codex 6 weeks early and saying "it sucks, whine, whine, bitch, piss and moan" and not buying it. Apparently how C:CSM *cough SUPPOSEDLY cough* is the worst selling codex of all time (which to this day no one can prove).
If you don't know what's in it until the day it comes out than in theory even if you sell it on ebay for not liking it, GW still gets their money.
But that was way OT so no need to further discuss it.

Except the CSM codex genuinely sucked, if they designed that thing with what appears to be their current design philosophy it wouldn't have sold so poorly. It had nothing to do with the info being leaked, it was the fact that the info leaked didn't fill people with confidence.
That's no reason to stop giving us news though, that just means they need to get a clue when designing their books and try not to Jervisify them.
