It wasn't the Tyranid Battleforce discount I was questioning, it was all the other new stuff. I checked back this morning and found this disclaimer text:

Strangely, the Fortress Of Redemption is listed as a splash release. That can't be correct. It's an all new plastic kit and there's no way GW is going to lose money on the molds by only selling it for a limited splash run.

Maybe it'll get parted out into multiple kits? So the splash release is the whole thing, then it'll be separate 'Chapel of Anger' and a 'Extra Gothy Defenses' kits?

GW is NOT listing the Fortress of Redemption as a limited or splash item on their website. I think it's an error at The War Store.

Hope its a warstore error... I do want one of those fortress but dont want to have to buy it asap.

Someone over at Warseer emailed GW about the fortress, and was told it is indeed a limited item. I was planning to get after xmas, due to mad spending over next few weeks, but I'm going to have to try to get it sooner.

They are moving away from "You get whatever we put in a $90 box" and are moving towards "You get XXXX Points in a Single Box for 5%ish Off".

There's a company called Despar, Inc. that makes the opposite of those annoying motivational posters (hit the link to see what they do). Originally they were a motivational consulting firm, but after operating for a while, they did a study about motivation in the workplace. They found that 90% of the people who are unhappy in their job will be unhappy no matter what you do for them. The logical conclusion that they came to was this:




The same applies to GW hobbyists, it seems.

lol Honestly tho, that is pretty much the truth. Unhappy people naturally bring the rest of the employees down with them. Pretty contagious those lot

Have you tried broadening? If you think of your hobby as 'Warhammer" or "Games Workshop Games" that is really, really focused. Move back a step to 'Wargames' and there's a lot of other games out there: Warmachine, Flames of War, Battletech, Heavy Gear Blitz. The main issue is finding other players, but all of these have active communities that will help with that kind of thing.

Like the skaven battalion boxed set the tyranid one is staying the same. Just the price is going up. Good move GW

I would ...."suggest" that people expecting the Tyranid codex on the previously mentioned date would be best advised to perhaps delay their longing for another week or two,

3rd: why does my mind think it's comming out on january 4th?

Glad ihave enough gaunts to field 4 full broods and 3 of hormas as well as 4 magnetic fexes and 2 3rd edition ones and about 40 stealers including 12 un made ones ready to be made for the new codex. The only thing i really need is more of is warriors. But only about a box of them. This new codex will mainly be about buying the new models. You heR that GW! You're not getting as much of my money as you thought!

On a side note the w/o # apoc formation is about to be way over priced as well as almost useless. I hope the   price is droped but i know it wont be.

So there's a new tyranid battleforce, you get 8 more models, at 15 dollars more only. If you pay for the models seperately, you pay more than 15 dollars....stop complaining for once!

Just to get slightly tangential for a second, the new Gaunt boxes will be 8 H-Gaunts and 8 T-Gaunts, yet despite being 8 models per box, they'll cost as much as 10 Guardsmen?
