I do not play WHFB but I would buy the model.

I might banned for saying this but W_G, your new (to me at least) avatar is the scary/freakiest/etc. of yours yet!!!!

Still think the 40k demon prince is better than the new plastic version from the shots I’ve seen so far.

Yes, if I plan on starting CSM, I had better buy the current prince soon.

I don't know when it'll be out, but I think if GW are re-releasing grey knights in the next year, thats the perfect time for second wave daemons the following month, so they have new adversaries. Just my 2 pence

That would be a fun and logical marketing scheme, assuming the Daemon Prince wasn't eaten by a polar bear while looking for the Egg of Mantumbi, maybe we'll see it released near the Grey Knights. Of course, a wave of plastic Daemons of Chaos releases is also possible at some point, with plastic Seekers of Slaanesh and maybe more.

Surely plastic Plagubearers or Horrors should be higher up the list of priorities than Seekers

Perhaps, but mock-ups of new Seekers have already been shown in at least one Games Day event last year. New Horrors and Plaguebearers were not. Also, there are currently no Seeker models available for purchase at all, Horrors and Plaguebearers do have models on store shelves.

Hate to point out the obvious here, but the kit did come with armour to make it more 40k compatible

Just seems that they need to find a release niche like other posters have said/suggested

Perhaps this Spearhead thing will provide the impetus. After all, the Daemon Prince is a Heavy selection in the Chaos Daemons codex.

Well, at least there's one good head to choose from in that boxed set.

How so? At least Metal PBs and Horrors are still in production, unlike the metal Seekers.

I love me some Horrors, but I'd rather have plastics for something not currently available(and that are redonkulously expensive on feeBay).

It's pretty obvious parts of this model were recycled elsewhere. The Rob Liefield overdone chest found its way into the new Minotaur kits, for instance.

Must remember to check later tonight.

Until then, I'll take Scottywan82's word for it...

I'm not trying to inspire false hope. It's a decent head. Out of focus.

Edit: Eff it, I'm reposting

I really like this model, and I think that the heads aren't too overdone.

I would rather use the Daemon Princes without the 40K bits, as I've never been a fan of the 'biggerized' power armour on the Daemon Princes.

Also, in that last picture you can see the 10$ worth of spiky bits on the top of that Chaos Bastion

Regardless of the 40k bits i will still probably show no powerarmor on him what so ever. P.s This may be a conversion, that tail looks awfully similar to the belakor model.

That's the first time I saw those pics of the DP for 40k in plastic. (hoping that it's not just a fan built custom job) I wonder what other bits it has?

For a brief period of time I thought we were going to see metal daemon princes for all the powers. My fear of that started when the metal nurgle prince was made a few years back.

Well, the DP in the photo certainly has the same hand and legs as the other shots of the plastic DPs. So, it's likely the real deal.

If we've seen all these pics for awhile now, why wait?

Wouldn't they prefer to have the model out there making them some money?

God no! Do have any idea how hard it is to count all that money? That why they scrapped the multi-part plastic dwarf lord and standard bearer too.

... and closed Black Industries when the 40k RPG proved to be a hit.
... and made Space Hulk a limited release available for only a few days instead of the well distributed and advertised hobby starter it once was.

The management and stock holders are so used to decreasing sales and profits, that it has become part of the corporate identity. Other companies would have fired the management and made a big advertising campaign. But all that is a different topic derailing this "rumour" thread.
