Either way, whatever kind of ship you fancy. Infact, if you feel like it, you can come up with the whole Russian fleet based around America while you're at it.

Just to clarify once again, The Russians aren't intended bad guys. Simply cos they really cant be. Sure we can survive gang warfare, and crazed snipers, but I have no illusions if a russian helicopter came after us, it'd be insta death.

The idea is that after America, and some other countries around the world collapsed, the major world power of Russia steps up to be the heroine (motherland, gettit? ) considering, even if say China didn't get overrun, they'd be preoccupied fighting an all out war against India's hordes.

Russia can of course be evil if you so choose, but I kinda Imagined them to be a relief force; supplying survivors, getting them out of the hot zones, being ample meat for a possible ressurection of the virus...

Yeah, i know but they'd have to come prepared to fight of whatever the east coast of america's population is worth of zombies, they wouldn't really know how many if any survivours there would be

Yes, something like that Scrazz. I know it never really worked with Gowab, but ah well. I'm sure the others will be happy to explain, right guys?

Well, the Russians will help the other countries because its humanitarian and they're not all completely evil. But if you were in charge of Russia and you saw a rare double-whammy opportunity to both save and take over the entire world, wouldn't you? Plus you get to kill zombies and blow sh*t up!

So my guy isn't as evil as I thought? Hooray! And yeah, I can probably bust out a map of the US with surviors, players, save zones and zombies by around 7-8:00 E.S.T. If everyone would like to PM me their location, that would make things easier.

I'm a bit stumped as to where my location might be,of course I know Tombstone and his merry band of bikers are holding up in a fortified commune up in a mountainous range approximately 70 miles west(ish) of the sight of the final "Mansion massacre" of the last RP...but I have absolutely no idea where that might be on the map.

See the "VIR" in Virginia? To the east of that is where you would be. The border with Virginia and West Virginia has a lot of mountains and Virginia itself has three types of terrain; Mountains, hills, flat.

Its on a cake, but it'll do.

Piedmont is hilly, coastal plain is flat, Blueridge Mountains are mountains, valley is hilly, Appalachian Plateu is another mountain range.

Your not the only new one to this universe chowder, scrazza and BloodHorror are new to it as well.
Can't think of any reason you can't be in rural New York...other than the millions of zombies from the cities who may have decided to take a walk in the woods.

@ Halonachos.

Sprinkle City?...I'm definitely using that some where in the RP my friend.

I don't think that the Russians would want to send a 2-man sniper team to a 14,000,000 man zombie party.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Just making my character now (will be updated when done - will be a russian dog handler/vet/medic)

Name - Helena Antipova
Age - 28
Height - 5' 5"
Personality - Friendly and positive, loves animals.
Appearance - Small and slim - shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. Wears regular issue Russian military gear with dog handler and vetinary officer badges, as well as medical officer patch.
Equipment - Standard sidearm. Combat knife. Field medical kit. Standard military equipment.
Skills - Animal hander, vet, medical skills, average shot, smart and adaptable.
Background/History - In the last year of a vetinary degree at the start of the outbreak at Moscow University she managed to escape to the countryside during a withdrawall organised by the students (armed with improvised weapons and arms and ammo liberated from the university armoury). They were then rounded up by the army and conscripted in the defence of the motherland. After the discovery of the importance of dogs in hunting/defending against zombies her training and skills were put to use clearning important infected locations, along with other K9 units and regular army units. She also functioned as a medical officer to the soldiers she served with - genuine doctors being in short supply.
Other - Until recently serving in Siberia clearing classified military installations, she was transferred to the small American Investigative Force.

Dog's name: Alexi
Breed: German shepherd mix
Age: ~1 year

Helena stood on the deck of the warship, looking over the American shoreline. Alexi stood with her, his ears gently twitching as he tracked crewmen moving about on their duties. The darkness over the land was in contrast with the gentle phosphorescence of the surf and the reflexion of the moon glinting on the oceans surface.

A year ago, before the plague ripped across the globe, she had never even dreamed of travelling to America. So much had happened in between – both good and bad. She had discovered strengths within herself that she never knew she had, found and lost love, friends and companions. She stroked the small scar ringing her left ring finger and held back the tears the memories evoked – a promise and a reminder of another life forever extinguished.

Diesel engines roared close to the shore as the landing craft beached. The flashes of small arms lit the night that remained between the high intensity search lights which had been turned on to facilitate the landings. The sounds of gunfire drifted across the water. Alexi didn’t even flinch. She smiled down at him and scratched behind his ears.

She knew how stupid it was to fight at night – one of the primary advantages of human beings over the walking dead being their sight – but the timetable was tight enough that they could not wait to delay even for a few hours.

She listened to the barking of K9 units on the shore – thankfully none in distress – and tried to relax as best she could. Alexi and she were attached to one of the units which would drive inland in the morning. She was not sure what they were looking for, but there was at least one intelligence operative attached to the squad so it was almost certain to be a military target they were aiming for. She just hoped that it was not going to be as cold as her last posting in Siberia – not helped by the mild nuclear winter caused by so many nuclear powers setting off warheads around the globe.

She turned back to the ship.

“Come on Alexi – let’s try and get some sleep.”

I'm of the train of thought that so long as GUO/Bonzo has no direct contact with any of the other characters until he can locate reliable Internet connections it's no great hindrance to the narrative...

By this I mean, since Bonzo is an erratic character, there is no reason that GUO can't use the erratic connections he is dealing with to still participate, sort of making Bonzo a hit and run character for the beginning of the story.

It could actually be interesting...sort of "where will that crazy clown pop up next."
Then, off course when GUO has more reliable Internet connections,he can have Bonzo interact/juggle for/join up with other characters.

...just a thought and of course it's all up to how GUO wants to do things.

I know I keep saying it, but ah well - I will post up some actual storyline when I can.

I had actually thought that the Russians would have already been in America and the continent it is on, but ah well. I'm sure we'll all think of something to fix that particular plothole.

No reason why you still can't have an established Russian presence in America,Silvers character and the accompanying ships/troops could simply be reinforcements...or an expeditionary force sent from the command/established areas on an expansion mission.

In the Wasteland

introdutory post.

BIC

He saw shadows at the end of the hallway. He waited for them to go away, Robbie didn't want this to turn ut into a frontal assault with guns blazing. If he wanted to scavenge this building, it needed to be done with stealth. The little scouting he had done in daylight proved that there were at least six zeds in the building. He was looking for supplies. Robbie didn't want to waste more than ge gained, so stealth was an issue.

Robbie stalked the hallway as soon as the shadows were gone. He made sure he didn't step on anything that would give his position away to the zeds. He finaly came across the room he wanted to check out. The armoury. Robbie found this little town in Virginia by accident, and he first wanted to find the police HQ. Robbie wasn't sure where he was, he didn't see any road signs. He checked for zombies before entering the armoury. Not a living thing in there.

He crawled his way further, and closed the door behind him. Robbie checked the ammo boxes and got lucky. He found some 9mm ammo for his two pistols. he tucked the clips away in his backpack, and looked around. He needed a map of Virginia. A detailed map.

No such thing. His luck had quit on him after he found those ammo clips. He carefully stepped back to the door. He opened the door, and then a thought smacked him. He despiratly needed nightvision goggles. He couldn't see anything. something must have happened with the lights, they were out. He didn't think, and switched on his lamp pack tucked away in his brestpocket. As soon as the light went on, Robbie saw straight into the rotted flesh of a zombie. How reckless! How could he have been so stupid? He quickly drew his knife. he couldn't afford more attention, so no guns. The zed reached out, moaning while he did. Robbie sliced the zombie's arms, but the zed wouldn't stop getting at him. He couldn't afford to fight here. He used speed to get out. He pushed the zed away, and ran for it. Trough all the halls and hallways he rememberd comming through. Then he saw the main doors.

He ran fast, ramming open the doors he so silently tried to open on the way in. He was out of the police station. Robbie looked where he could hide. outside, it was pitch black. Only his lamp pack shone out. He saw a suitably safe spot to hide and switched of his lamp before running towards it. He could hear moaning and mumbling. The zeds had followed him. He held his hand to his mouth, not letting the sound of his breathing through. When he was sure the zeds have forgotten about him and were shuffling off to find someone elses brains, he got up and left to search a good spot to sleep.

"This was close enough for today." He whispered to himself in the darkness.

I was thinking that this would be the larger landings represented by the safe zones on the map. More advanced units may well have been in the country for some time, possibly acting as scouts to locate targets of value?
