Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

—Captain Khârn of the World Eaters Legion's 8th Assault Company, from his unpublished treatise The Eighteen Legions

I love it when people use Blorks. They are fun to paint and fun to work with. I used them as well in my army. Not as ard boys but as nobs.
Love what you have done with them. And your yellow is very well done. Awesome work cant wait to see more.

Very nice indeed. Was the damaged look of the armour done with the trusty old sponge technique or something else?

AlexHeap - Thanks!

Regnak - trusty sponge first, then careful brush chipping, devlan mud pin washing, and and some subtle dry brushing metallics.

Thanks Gutsplitta!
For info, I have just dismantled them and boxed them up with all my hobby gear for our move to San Diego from Sydney - so it will be about a month before I even see them again let alone start modelling and painting.
The good news is I now have the excuse to buy new paints, an airbrush and a compressor, so I'm looking forward to returning to the Bad Moonz ( and venturing into painting my CSMs The Legion of Thorns) with new techniques.
Until then, cheers all!

... Hey... Hello... Is this thing on?...

... and we're BACK!
So after moving countries and setting up new home and starting a new job, I finally have a workspace again, and have commenced construction of some new Orks to team up with the three Ork-migos here (see what I did?)
Originally I only intended to complete these three and move on as I don't play 40k and the bases were a complete pain to build, but scrummaging around in the bits after we unpacked I found my box of Orky bitz and some other bitz and the hobby ADHD kicked in and off we go again!

Gutsplitta wrote:All the best on your move. I hope it all goes smoothly for you!

Gutsplitta - Thank you, and yes it went as moves go... now glad it's over!
tipios wrote:Good luick on your move!!! Looking forward to seeing what you comr up with when you get there

tipios - Thanks - Lamby's Forge is back up and running!

So standby for pics of new Orky construction - coming soon!

gork and possibly mork wrote:I love your converting lamby, do you mind me asking what you used to make the display tray?

gork and possibly mork - Thanks!
Making the display tray;
- I used 2 Lord of the Rings large movement trays, they fit Terminator 40mm bases perfectly
- Cut one in half and pinned it to the other one, then filled the gap in with plasticard and Tamiya putty, sanding it smooth to make it seamless
- Then I placed the three bases in the pre-existing cutouts and laid out the piping - for the piping I used garden sprinkler system straight pipes and bends
- After that I positioned the grilled floor bits, which are cutoffs from an old Xbox
- Once I had those main elements in it was then a case of cutting interesting shapes out of 1mm plasticard and gluing it down to look like panels
- Added a few mechanical looking bits adding more raised detail, and after a lot of cutting and sanding and fitting and re-fitting it was done
