Too much $$$ for sub-standard CGI. I understand the required comparison to the DOW beginning clip but damn if that Dawn of War clip wasn't the shiznit! Now 5 years later we see a small company trying to get to that point of CGI by making a Space Marines movie. Props to them... but I'm already used to better CGI that's 5 years old! Why accept a lower quality of movie just to say "hey, I support GW" when they already overcharge for everything they sell?

Dan Abnett is also fantastic. But it's like trying to watch an epic like Avatar or Batman: Dark Knight done in Legos. Crappy, chewed up, spit upon and played with by a pack of stray dogs legos. Entertaining? Yes! But is it the best way to present a great story? um... no.

Up the quality a bit in the promos. I will see the movie as I have a friend already brainwashed into buying it. But if it's not awesome, I'd rather buy models.

WTF is an ultramarine movie? I happen to know for a fact that I have pulled out of my ass that They would never make a movie based on something Non Mainstream as Warhammer 40k.

Codex are the first people to be granted permission to make a movie by GW because they aren't going for the mainstream, they're making it for the fans.

I already own it. My son and I have watched it repeatedly and it gets to be more fun on each viewing. My wife enjoyed it as well, especially since she didn't have any preconceived "fan-boy" notions about what it should be like. Each time I watch it I find some new little detail to enjoy. It's terrific fun. By the second or third viewing, you will believe there is an Emperor. Seriously, it's most enjoyable and the extra features are also worth a look.

Got it today, just watched it.
I have just a little more respect for Smurfs.
And even more distaste for the black legion. Though I am a chaos player, I never did like the black legion.

I liked the movie so much on repeated viewings that I had to restrain myself from painting something blue.

I'm willing to pick up a Collector's edition. Not sure if Blu-ray or DVD... hopefully there's an option to get both with one purchase like you see with some other movies... then again GW probably would want to split the editions to get more monies.

Got it watched it, not a bad movie for the first attempt at something like this with a peanuts budget. The voice acting suprised me, well done and some recognizable names John Hurt is the big one, has done everything from Jim Henson's the Storyteller to Harry Potter. The other names are from movies like dances with wolves and the last of the Mohicans. God I know I just butchered the spelling on that. Graphics are good some places, bad in others. The characters and the armour are done well. Some of the set peices you can see thats where they ran out of money and went sub par. Good dark 40k style story, and the sound effects are great. There is a land speeder hovering and it sounds like this old tank diesel engine. At 35 bucks US I say grab it. We spend enough on these and they will get more money to do another film where they can polish the product up a little.

I rather really enjoyed it. I got it for christmas. I will be the first to say that I had it downloaded. We kept trying to order it and there system wouldnt accept orders. Finally we got the order thru and it was well worth the money.

Netflix and other rental companies aint gonna get this.

Normally i am all for downloading or burning. Those compnies make billions off us. The same companies who make the movies make the burner and the blank dvd's.

Thats not the case with this. If we want another 40K movie help support it and buy a copy.

I don't like Ultramarines or space marines in general except for the Grey Knights...so I'll pass. Honestly, the movie would have been so much cooler if they swaped Ultras with the Grey Knights and it would still have fit roughly.

I'll buy a movie if it features the Inquisition or its Ordo Militants; or Death Korps of Krieg.

Exactly what my friend and I were wondering as we saw them leap....it'd be a shame to die because you had the heavy weapons and thus fell out of unit cohesion

It was nice that they showed that Space Marines aren't cumbersome, clunky giants because of their massive... mass and armor. Kinda puts things in a new perspective for me.
