@ jhon- If I had the 'Nids to do over again I'd still do the same scheme, and I have to say I enjoy the old models more than most of the newer ones.

@ killykavekommando- I had 2 sets of those that I gave to my buddy Daichallar so he could fill out his Dwarves. I was always attracted to the lore and mythology of Dwarves (in historical as well as gaming aspects) and wanted to play them in 40K but never got to it. So at very least they have a good home and will see action on the table. I just had them as a collection.

Would love to see your stuff posted here!

@ Skippy- Yeah, that sort of thing happens. But I'd like to see what you have left!

Went digging around the other day and found a couple more to share. First up was my very, very short-lived attempt to get into Skaven. I love the fluff for them, and really are they not just more children of Chaos? But I never got further than this:

I think these are from THE original Warhammer plastic set, can't find a picture of the box but it had plastic Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Orcs, Goblins, and Skaven. If these miniatures aren't from that set, I have a couple of those sets kicking around in my Bitz boxes anyway. I collect a few handfuls of Skaven, painted a few Rat Ogres, had a few special units... not sure where most of that is now, maybe I traded it? I have only a few plastic left. Have thought about the possibility of Chaos Space -Marines- Skaven, but no. No no no. I have enough projects as it is

Next up was a Flagellant for my Witch Hunters from Mordheim, but the model is much older than that. I had entertained the ide of an Empire army once... in fact I think the only army I didn't try to collect was anything Elf-related. Elves. Feh. *spits*

Hope those stir up some memories! Feel free to post your old stuff here, would love to see it!

Ahh 1991, a good year. This was a great thread. Loved seeing all the old minis. The Plague Marines were great, and I liked the color variation. Great work all around.

I love the palanquin, thats the model I'm considering using for my HQ unit for csm - I'm reluctant to start it however as I'm sure GW will stop letting us having them!

@ Warlord Imp- This is one of my favored original Marines!

Thanks for sharing that! Now I have to go digging through my old Marines and see if I can find him.

@ Hyenajoe- I had no idea you had that! I would *really* appreciate it if you found time to dig through your old stufff, I know you have some amazing stuff in there.

@ Tortured-Robot- You could post your entire Chaos Marine thread here. As far as the Palanquin, I'm guessing we're going to get MORE cool stuff back, CSM players have been kicking GW since the 5th Ed Codex came out.

Looking forward to seeing more classic miniatures here! Thanks everyone for posting, and thanks for looking!

@ skulk bloodaxe - that battlewagon looks a lot like the old GW plastic kit with a few bits left off but wouldn't swear to it!

This thread a real walk back in time for me! Some reminders of things I'd long forgotten...

On a different note, I've been digging through some of my old stuff and plan to put some really old stuff up on here! One I'd forgotten I had was a fair number of v old Flying Gargoyles of Barda Regiment of Renown... No pic yet unfortunately. Are these rare, I can't remember seeing any for a long long time...

Great thread. Really like the old tyranids. I think almost all old models have a place in a modern army.

@ Speed10wing- Both of those Battle Wagons are old Armorcast vehicles. I do have the original plastic Battlewagon but I never painted it. I may dig it out just to post here.

@ flashbang- Thanks for checking this out, and feel free to share if you have some old stuff you'd like to post here!

@ Ratius- Wow, those 'Nids are excellent! I really tried to get into playing them but it just never worked out for me. I really like the Dread, and the Grots, too. I must have 200 of those things (trades and trades and trades). The Wraithlords are simply amazing. I absolutely hated fighting against them (Eldar in general) Great stuff all around, thank you for sharing those!

@ Samus_aran115- Hoping to see some of your stuff here!

@ GreyTauKnight- eBay, my friend. eBay.

I think this weekend I'm finally going to pull out my old Chaos Warriors. I have some ancient stuff in there that belongs on this thread.

The marine on the right, second pic down... Gosh I wish I'd known that model existed before making my Inquisitor!

Gotta agree with you on the muscular bloodletters being the best.

Old models are growing on me more and more, I still think old termies (GKs too) look absolutely ridiculous, but a lot of the Chaos and Eldar stuff was pretty cool. I think Nurgle demands old minis

Tyranids looked laughable though, I must say (sorry!).

Bear in mind I am new with 5th

I have the slaaneshi witch in the middle of the first pic as my slaanesh herald. She also is hated and feared in my D and D games, as she is usually the evil caster physrep

I have the knights also. I found them at the bottom of my bitz trunk, and am stripping them as a new painting project
