Physically, I'm 18. Everyone always assumes I'm in my mid twenties, though.

I've been playing for about a year now, but no quitting in sight for me. I put a ton of my time that isn't already occupied by: girlfriend, school, sleep; towards building, painting, making scenery, or planning strategies for 40k. Yeah, you could call me a bit of an addict.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

Not an addict, you are simply zealous in your duties.

I should probably mention I am 16, and have been playing for 5 years.

42.

Been wargaming since the age of 16. 40k from the age of 19.

That's longer than most of my clubmates have been ALIVE.

Also longer than 40k has been around.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I am 1140 years old, I've waited for 40k most of that time. I Have seen those around me turn to decriptitude and dust. Witnessed those i once called enemies turned into pathetic wretchs, too broken for anything but pity. I have fought for 100 causes followed more zealously than the last only to see them rendered impotent and irrelevant. Although now, As i paint these sci fi figures, my wearied soul is filled with comfort.

I am 21....

I had two funny stories related to this. During one of the game nights, my dad dropped me off at the hobby center and we watched a grandpa and his grandson do the same. They started unpacking their army (I was their opponent in the night's random lineup) and my dad commented on how good the old man was bringing his kid to the shop. Right after they finish unpacking, the grandpa hands the kid 20 dollars and sends him off to the toyshop across the hallway! Me and my dad just stood there in disbelief (this was just a few months after I started playing).

In another case, I was in a mega battle, where the theme was bring one MC, walker or character, and duke it out. Winner wins a store voucher worth some 20 bucks or so, and the right to gloat about how awesome his character was. deploying next to me were two boys deploying by my side. One was noticably older than me (I was 14 at the time) and the other was really, really young (like, 6-8). They both deployed their characters and we agreed to team up against the other enemies. I was the first to loose, so I went to grab a snack and wait out the battle. When I came back, the battle was done and everyone was packing up. And then I see the two boys arguing in the background. Funny thing is, the younger one was berating the older one about the bad tactical decisions the latter had made in the game! Apparently the older brother was the newbie and the kid was the veteran.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

It would seem I've been playing 40k longer than most of you folks have been alive.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I am thirty years of age and have been into the hobby for the last 15 years and seem to get more involved in it as my finances and lifestyle allow me to really immerse myself more and more into it, I also believe the age of gamers to be roughly my age or older, as they are the really passionate ones who have seen rogue trader and just remember the golden age of 40k the young-uns will get there eventually they just won't remember what a squat is!
