Well, I either listen to audiobooks (mostly Prattchet) or some music (Queen, AC/DC and so on), or I watch some of my DVDs. Mostly stuff I´ve seen multiple times though. I get too distracted otherwise.

But well, owning all available Seasons of Simpsons, Futurama, House M.D. and, well, Firefly I have enough stuff to watch for shorter painting sessions as well as longer sessions.

Sit in front of a zillion episodes of Frasier.
Although laughing and painting dont mix that well together.

I paint at my PC with the monitor behind what I'm painting - so I get a periphery of what's going on - and I watch documentaries. Learnt tones while painting. Chaos theory, mathmatics, science, shark preservation. It's awesome.

I usually have one eye on my model, the other watching my great dane, chihuahua and 9 month old daughter. Thank god for lazy eyes!!!

j/k, I try to multi task and fail miserably because the Dane usually pisses off the chihuahua in turn scaring the child...

MadMaverick you have good taste in TV. I like to drink a Gin & Tonic or a Stein of Lager, then put on the Radio and set in for a 5-6 hour painting session. I promise myself another Stein of lager on completion or a Quaruple Single Malt as a sort of reward.

Top tip don't drink too much your painting gets ropey....funny old thing that...

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

Rarely anything. I talk to myself, sometimes. Not like, asking myself questions and replying to them; just little exclamations and stuff

Other than that, I listen to music. Without headphones though. That gets me distracted. A little ambiant music is nice (just yesterday, I played through my Clash collection on random. Good painting music )

Talk to other wargamers on teamspeak, listen to music, watch shows, movies, or whatever. I really don't have a set thing that I do so it stays fresh for me. I don't understand how people can set up a table in the corner of their basement and just sit there in quiet and work. It seems boring to me.

If I'm painting and doing other things like picking up the game room I like to listen to Metal. But if I am just painting or modeling then I prefer silence. I'd sooner get lost in my head than bang it when I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing next w/ my Death Guard.

Books on tape - audiobooks, seriously: the best therapy ever, just chilling out and painting and listening. If I'm not listening to something I feel like I'm not getting enough done. Presently listening to the 'Dune' series. Science fiction, horror, Victorian literature. Local library's got loads of stuff.

I'm actually a multi tasker so I listen to books while painting. I probably go through 20 a yr and retain damn near all of the information. Try it out sometime, you can even check em out from your public library and it won't cost a dime unless you turn em in late.

I recently downloaded every episode of Kids in the Hall. For the past few weeks, whenever I've done conversion work/painting, I've been watching that. I only have 18 of 100 episodes left though, so I gotta find something else to watch while I wait for things to dry.

Every heretic that is crushed under our feet will be a testament to our undying loyalty to the citizens of Imperial Space. We will baptize ourselves in fire and emerge as the most steadfast defenders of humanity.” - qoute from my own homegrown chapter

I tend to listen to music, podcasts, or just chew through my netflix or hulu queues while painting. The trick is however that even when I'm watching a movie, I tend to only turn around to look at the really interesting bits of a movie, otherwise I don't even look towards the screen. I've watched some movies, and enjoyed them, without ever looking at the screen. There tends to be enough audio clues to know what is going on 95% of the time in movies that I only end up watching a few minutes of the video.

Sometimes, when he wants to, I also play fetch with the cat. He has learned that if he drops a toy mouse by my feet that I will throw it for him, as often as he brings it back.
