Codex:Fishmen has been a long running joke in the design studio for years, coming from hiding the next codex release from visitors, back in the day when the studio wasn't in a vault
How about this as an alternative mini http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2011/02/09/43642
I've also ordered some of these recently http://www.blackscorpionminiatures.com/index.php and am just waiting for my new Orc Mordheim band... (plus the Cutlas rules look cool too)

Some of those are used by the nauticans (unofficial army list) - I am not sure what it is, maybe they are gonna release a huge sea monster kit like a giant kraken that comes out the water and attacks anyone with a certain distance of him (but cant be too far from the water) a sorta living terrain piece that attacks anyone. (so its you vs the other guy vs the kraken)
lmao
since when does Donald Duck do miniature wargaming?

Well, if I had a magical faerie conjured from the land of dreams appear and deliver a nautical themed fantasy expansion for the summer, I'm not sure what to think. I mean, a Man of War could be really cool, but I'm not sure GW has the attention span to give it what it des-SQUIRREL!!!
If it was a 28mm scale Fantasy on Boats (TM) game, I'm not sure that would work either. And while I don't doubt GW could come out with some impressive 28mm scale ship models if they put their full plastic sculpting ability to the task, somehow I have a feeling that it could never be what I would want. I'd be looking for really nice-looking rigging and intricate details to show the ship had occupants that really represented the army using it, while GW would give us some barely seaworthy block with a giant monster sculpted on the prow and spiky bits on the ends of oars to double as close combat weapons!

Alright GW, if you come out with a yacht-racing game based on the Warhammer Fantasy world with a Wacky Races approach to combat I promise to never make fun of the Razorgor again. Deal?

The Pan fo will not be denied.....
As for the "sea army", It was more of lizardmen, then anything else. Lustria was a campaign back in the day with sea vampires, norsemen, Tilian conquestadores, and pirates and lizardmen...
The "sea creatures" in question were dinosaurs. Other then that, Man of War had sea creatures, and there were a couple of releases through the years.
The new talk came from this area, it's been kicking around for a minute or two on the back burner of the interwebs.
http://naut2.blogspot.com/2010/07/sea-creature-warhammer-rule-in-8th.html
Here is the link provided. http://naut1.blogspot.com/
It's fan made, but it is supposed to be gaining some steam in some parts.
Another place for a sea army is over at Reaper. They have a undead pirate thing going on, and the other army, of Reptus, who are all lizards, but they have sea creatures, as well.
http://www.reapermini.com/
GW had a thing going on when they had the army books coinside with the different areas of the old world, when each of the armies were showcased, and the fluff stuff was built up with each of the new released armies.
Great summer campaign deal, wished they wouldn't had let it die like they did.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

I spoke to a GW employee the other day to see if they're going to rush production on the new Ballet Dancing Marines, tooo tie in with the release of Black Swan. I suggested this on the phone tooo a Mail Order Troll and he said "What? Are you crazy? There's never been a hint of this rumour but hey, why not, YES, they'll definitely be out by summer. Whatever." Given that the 4ed Chaos Daemons codex already has Pavane of Slaanesh, but only ONE dancing Herald, I'm pretty sure this means that we're going to get Codex: Ballet Marines by July. I know GW Employees are very unreliable, but I'm still going tooo start a new thread about it....

If I recall correctly, GW was planning a zombie pirate army, but it was never released because it might look to much like PotC and they were nervous of copyright. But the army was published in WD.
Wouldn't the idea of a sea creature army mean, that it couldnt fight some armies? What are the odds of marching to Khemri and do battle if you live in the sea?
I am more guessing (if this rumour is more then a rumour), that maybe 1-2 models with the sea creature rule (like the merwyrm).

Yeaahhhh...No.
The "Zombie Pirate army" was released alongside the Lustria campaign book. And it was never intended to be an army, just them kind of exploring something that had been mentioned before(the "Vampire Coast") but never really explored in detail.
