Ghazkull Mag Uruk Thraka with some pretty lucky rolls I took the Monolith out, and in the turn previously he took out 3 destroyers and a destroyer lord. Needless to say the Necron player was pretty annoyed.

The last Tourny I went to, there were three Necron players, and two had Monoliths. The first turn, of the first game, I wrecked one of his two monoliths with a lascannon shot from a Predater Annihilator.

Thraka has mega-armour, which includes a powerklaw. So he would have been strength 10

My Vindicators usually do shortish work of those things...when there arent any warriors nearby that Id rather shot at that is...

ive killed a few monoliths in my time - cron player i know wont play them against my space pup army anymore - a S10 thunder hammer turn 1 with 5 attacks... nom nom nom

i think that the best way - CC is always the best way tbh

How are you getting a first turn assault?

he had first turn started his lith on the 12" line - moved it 6" forward - cav lord has well 6" move, 5" for fleet (lucky rolls) and 12" charge

If you cause an immobilized or weapon destroyed result against a vehicle that is already immobilized and has no more weapons that you can destroy, then the vehicle is dead.

If a weapon can't be destroyed, it doesn't count for the purposes of the above.

Two on the same turn. Baneblade Cannon shot hit rolled a six from pen and a six for damage. Then the demolisher cannon from the same baneblade hit a second monolith rolled a 5 for pen and six again for damage. The problem for me in that game was his 2+ invuln wraiths that would not die.

Weapon destroyed simply puts the flux arc at -1 to the roll of shots. Even if agreed that after -6 it is considered destroyed, you have the particle whip that specifically says it cannot be destroyed, thus it always having a weapon.

Never killed one in my entire life yet. Although tbh I never aim for it anymore. My friend's rolls are so hilariously bad he ends up killing more of his own stuff than mine.

First game I played, I wiped out a Monolith by charging it with a Soul Grinder. Haven't killed one since. I typically ignore them and focus on everything else

Before 5th ed, my Monoliths were LUCKY to see the end of the game.

After 5th ed, my Monoliths never get destroyed. Then again, everyone who plays me, goes for the phase out.

I've killed quite a few, AV14 isn't impossible to get through. The most memorable however was a single Lascannon Vet team killing with their first shot.

Both my warlock squad with Eldrad, a guardian squad with a warlock and a swooping hawk squad charged it.

Hawk exarch was first with a haywire. 4+, 6, 6. Was one of the most unbelievable achievements my Eldar army has managed.

Every single time, it's been a lascannon that has killed my Monolith. (3 times out of 4 games in the last while lol).

I hope everybody in this thread does realize that lance weapons, meltas, and monstrous creatures have ZERO benefit.

Basically you take the unmodified strength of the weapon/character + 1d6. That is all.

Sure, I've played the triple Monolith list, killed two and the last was immobilized when the game ended. Usually lascannons that do it, although I've done it with meltaguns (got that lucky glancing 6 plus AP1 for a destroyed), basilisk, so on and so forth.

Managed to charge one with two Warbosses both with a Power Klaw and Attack Squig. Needless to say it was definitely overkill, but that's the first time I versed one.

After that without Orks, it's the old ignore the flashy brick and get the phase out trick. Works quite well with Eldar as I can just stay out of it's range.

I could kill it with the Haywire grenades, but that requires taking Swooping Hawks.

That still works, but it won't get 2 die at half range.

I typically lose my Monoliths to railguns. Those pesky Tau guns have such long range that it doesn't matter where they are - they can shoot it.

I run a Nightbringer, so I openly invite you to bring your dedicated CC unit to kill my Monolith.

The way I destroy all large vehicles.

I threw Ghazzy at it. Boom, gone, phase out, I win.

I have never faced necrons :p
unfortunately for monoliths, my list has plenty of answers (3 deffrollas, ghazzy, bunch of s9 on the charge nobs)
does furious charge work agaianst liths?

Same way I deal with Land Raiders.
