Derby, UK.

I've never played against one but mine has been blown up plenty.

They're no tougher to kill at range than a Land Raider. Lost mine to a h/k missile off a rhino in turn 1 once. Sucked.

Manticores are decent at killing Monoliths. With D3 Strength 10 shots per Manticore you have a decent chance. I've played against a triple monolith player at 1850 and I ended up killing 2 of them and immobilized the 3rd between 2 Manticores and 3 Vendettas.

Yes. A warboss on a bike with a power claw and an attack squig = a destroyed monolith.

Nope. I've never played a necrons player.

What makes them so hard to kill? Are they like, immune to chainfists and meltas or something? My Chaos Marines put so much anti-tank on the field. I find it hard to believe they're hard to kill. Same AVs as land raiders, and I kill those all the time.

Melta and lance weapons don't work on them so well do to their annoying living metal.

Ah, I see. Chainfists/ MCs seem the way to go then. I guarantee I could get a Warptime nurgle prince to kill it

Nope. Never bothered trying. I've played against necrons 3 times with my Black Templars and got phase out each time by killing his troops. To hell with the Monolith.

I have seen my friend destroy a total of 3 in different games. He plays Tau. Railguns are the answer to AV14.

"What's the big deal, guys?" Was his expression with his Tau on killing monoliths.

"Holy Crap! Now what do I do?" Is his expression with his new Blood Angels.

I've destroyed them plenty of times. In 4th ed and early 5th I used exorcists. S8 AP1 does have a chance of doing the job, even though you need lots of shots to reliably do it. I've destroyed them with melta the same way. I've brought them down with lascannons, power klaws, deff rollas, and vindicators.

They are annoying to bring down, and generally not worth the firepower to do so... but sometimes you have no better target, or you have to due to where it is.

Generally when I see a single monolith, or 3 of them across from me, I'm not generally worried about them. 1 isn't a big threat, and 3 takes too much away from the rest of the army (points and phase out) A pair though.... they make good bookends making a flank maneuver much more difficult.

Somewhat regularly but I have played necrons rather often.

My favorite was stealing the initiative, moving a zoanthrope forward, and exploding it in one shot on the first round. Even killed a few guys behind it.

Editing to add:
I swap armies with a friend that uses Necrons on occation, but I have immobilized my own something like 8 out of 10 times.
At which point a carnifex is utterly hilareous.

I'm wondering how many inaccuracies there are to this (otherwise very nice idea) poll due to players voting 'no' due to not playing against them.
I would've liked a 3rd option IMHO.

Nice idea though, very funny!

Chainfists or MC's don't get their extra dice either. So a Daemon Prince has no hope of even scratching a Monolith.

I have killed them with lascannons with my Space Marines.

With my Necrons I have to say that a monolith kills other monoliths rather nicely.

Of course I have two friends that play(ed) Necrons and I play Tau. Railguns have problems with Monoliths, but we can still bring em down with regularity.

I've destroyed several, they certainly aren't invincible just tough (and with nothing else to use your AT guns on...), though none recently as I haven't seen a Necron army in over a year.

Haven't killed one in 5th. (only played against monolith using 'crons once in 5th however.)
