S'jet wrote:Very cool. =) I've got my mind on painting tanks atm as well (rhino's/immo's) and my colour scheme is similar to yours, gold armour, white tabards with red trim. I tried a mostly gold tank, and whilst it turned out ok, it looks a bit wierd. So im glad i came across this thread, as i may change the colour of my future tanks to something different. How did you do the weathering? I havent tried any yet =)

Loving your army so far. Girl powah?

Thanks, this color scheme seems to be popular for the sisters . I agree that a solid gold tank would look to much like we are in the disco era. As for weathering, I used a mechanical pencil on some of the edges to give them a metallic look, then I used the pigment powders from secret weapon miniatures to do the other effects, they can be found:http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=37&zenid=4rnf9ckgu09nnth9lggvrj6m14
It is good stuff with a decent tutorial on how to use it.

Thanks again, pm me pics of your army when you get a chance, I would love to see another sisters force, so few to oooh at.

Here is an update of my sisters project. These took a bit longer than I was expecting, but I think they turned out really well. If you want to see substantially more photos, please go here, where I have plenty more to look at.

With 13 more to go, I have a lot of work ahead of me, but over the next couple of days I will be showing off more of them as I get the next design for them finished up. Also make sure you check out my banner competition here for a chance to win free stuff.

Thanks for looking

Great work! Man those look good with all the fiddly bits on them.

Love your work so far. The gold looks great and the white on the rhinos is really crisp.

I thought that they added a bit to the models so I picked them up. They fit the model and the army well so it is nice to have it on them.

Thanks, I have to say that the white is many layers in several directions to get it to come out that clean. I am sure there are other things I can do to make it pop even more. As for the gold, it is the vallejo model color gold. I have been a fan of their metal paints for a while and it just goes to show you.

Mostly, on my phone.

Great stuff - especially the headlights, I had to do a double-take! Awesome work.
