Forge world is a part of Games Workshop and is in the same building complex and often design their pieces in harmony with
GWs plastics. I was at the Open Day yesterday and bought the new resin hand gunners designed by Keith Robertson, I spoke with him personally and he confirmed that he made the set so that you could make the resin handgunners but still make a a full unit of plastic crossbow men, nice consideration so you don't have to buy a box of plastic handgunners and then just throw the rest away!
As for the terrain piece it was very nice and was made of a yellow type resin substance that actually reminded me more of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) It seemed very durable and no where near as heavy as I expected. I can confirm it was on sale for £60. I didn't buy one as I had already pre-ordered some models and bought the event only models, Chaos Dwarf and Boarding Marine. It is a well detailed piece and there is no snow already on it. It does fit in with the Realms of Battle board and I saw it incorporated into one, it looked great! Price, well I do feel that
RoB board is too expensive but the forge world section was actually less than I expected and is in line with the rest of their pricing policy. If you look on line you can get some money of the RRP of the
RoB board for example at Dark Sphere.
I'm going to start another news thread with some juicy pics and the new Forge World catalogue update sheets from the day with some prices on them, once I've done it I'll put a link up here!
