Bikes and jump infantry are never "slowed" by terrain, they just have to take dangerous terrain checks, so applying slow and purposeful isn't clear. Since they move 12 inches normally, would they then roll 2d6 and double the highest, or something similar?
- Jump Infantry will roll 2d6 and x2 to the highest die roll when moving. Assaulting with them will be rolls 2d6 and take the highest
- Also turbo boost ignore the slowed effects of this mission
In this case since it isn't difficult terrain, it's slow and purposeful, I think they would be affected as all other jump infantry. No trying to get fluffed out advantages for your wraiths mister! After all, under the same logic, grey knight personal teleporters make them enter the warp and then pop back out in another location, would this mean they wouldn't be affected either? :-p
- This is correct they are effected just like jump infantry

In the Round 2 games if I am lucky enough to play dwarves does this mean I auto get 2 bonus points? Good for me sucks for dwarf players.
Round 4 Broken units, so the unit has to fail a break test or in the case of undead and Daemons lose combat/fail an instability roll. So if a unit gets wiped out completely does that count?
Just asking for clarity.. I am not a fan of Fled or dead scoring but it is what it is. Thanks
Sorry to dissapoint you...there will be clarification for Dwarf players that round. No freebies.
If you wipe out your opponent in one round of combat it will count. Not to mention the VP's you are earning.
Fled will be changed to fleeing in the last round.

No worries, I much prefer to have to earn my points and I really do appreciate the giving up points for fleeing at the end of the game.. I can't wait for some face smashing fun this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Do beasts, with the move through cover special rule, get to roll 3D6 and choose the highest for their moves?

The orange section is for the "fleet part" correct not all the time?
And I agree.. the beasts are another thing we didn't consider with the 6 inch move, 12 inch charge...
For Simplicitys sake I would change it to...
all units move at 50% speed on a 1... and 150% speed on on 6 in all phases...
Units that move flat out but don't get over 18 inches (9 only with a roll of a 1) receive no cover,
Turbo boosting is not allowed when a 1 is rolled...
This simple correction May be easier then making a table for everyone to see what each unit does that turn... And it still has the cool flavor you're putting into the mission

You are mistaken here. Skimmers don't need to move 18" to get the cover save. You're thinking of bikes, who need to move 18" to get their turbo-boost cover.

Jy2, he was refering to how fast vees that move 18 get no save, but skimmers that go 24 do get a save, if I had to guess. Thus a skimmer with a max move of 18 gets no flat out cover save (when moving 12.1) but a skimmer moving 19 at max would get a cover save (when moving 12.1)

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to help make this a great event!
Thanks got out to:
Mike D, Brad and Kat for running the 40K event. Mike, I can't wait for your new store to open in Jersey!
The VFW and American Legion hosts. Wow! What a great group of guys who welcomed us to their clubhouse to play our games.
Chris and Ray and all the others who made it happen.

Just little run down for those who might be interested.
Location: American Legion / Warmachine - Hordes. VFW / 40k - WFB.
I was one of the folks who was skeptical about this coming in, as every GT I have been to was in a convention center. This turned me a round a bit. There really has to be something said for having the ability to have folks who don't know the game stop in and be wowed. Also, no complaints, the bathrooms were usable, close, and about what you expect. There was plenty of space. I didn't feel cramped for one of the first time in a while at a GT. Adding a little bonus. We got feed! Yep, Chris on saturday & sunday morning had food available. Chicken Parm, pasta, sandwiches, salad options, macaroni / potato salad. For the price, really can't beat that.
40K Staff / Missions
I can only talk about 40K as I didn't play WFB. Which is a huge change for me as i'm typically a WFB guy. Firstly, Mike, Brad, Kat, and i'm sorry but the gentleman I forgot his name were excellent. 4 people who play and know rules are great. They were able to pop in and help for questions. They shuffled terrain when necessary. Kept us on time. We finished by Sunday 3pm. For anyone whose played in a GT that's a feat amongst itself, hats off to them.
Group / Players:
I believe there were 40 some 40k players. I played 5 games. I would be happy to play my opponents again. Lists were not fluff, they all had teeth. Rd1 Battlewagon Orks~ win. Rd2 Mephiston / Dread / Raiders~ win, Rd3 Iyanden~ draw, Rd4 Battlewagon / Nobs~ draw, Rd 5 Nids / Monstrous creatures~loss. Rd 5 Nids / Monstrous / create gaunts.
Hotel:
We paid what we expected to. It was clean, professional, check in / out really fast. Breakfast wasn't that good, but its a hotel breakfast. Saturday for dinner we wandered into town and found a small Mexican restuarant which was fantastic. In town there is a lot of local stuff which you want to check out for food. There's the atypical Mcdonalds, burger king, etc.. they American Legion had 2 places across the street for pizza.
Result:
I walked away with lots of thinking which is good. I need to learn Nids as man did they stomp me good. Iyanden is nasty if they get the jump on you. Battlewagons, no shocker, I run mainly footsloggers with Kans, so I was in the game. I went 2-1-2, very happy with the result. Finally the players, I had time to talk to, get to know the 40k guys. Everyone was awesome. Loved the Grot Tank army, loved the Sisters army which has some posts here, the Genestealer Cult / Ork list was darn cool!
This is an event you really should think about hitting up if you can. For the cost, your going to pull out ahead if you look and see you are getting 5 games, great player pool, at least 1 meal a day, wtih left offers for snacks, and Chris kept everything close to the locations. Seriously hats off to Chris and the group running everything. They had so many raffles at the end to!
Keep a look out for:
Crossroads
Battle for Blobs Park
Mechanicon
They are all coming up, and have great reputations! Thanks to all the guys who brought terrain, boards, and all around gave me a wonderful weekend. My 5 opponents, thank you again, hope to play you all soon, you all taught me a lot. i've been away from 40k for about a year, and just off a 1 year WMHD break. Happy to be rolling those dice again.

Thanks for the kind words about the army. Was great to see those sister in person they look great, and that free hand work on the up and coming model in person is incredible. Nick played well, he definitely stayed on that scenario. I have no complaints right now, he encouraged me to read up on Nids. Also that game exposed a few things I can definitely tinker with for my own list to make it more solid. He played well as did all the top 5 guys. Lots of nicely painted armies, great opponents, and guys to talk the game with in that room just encourages me to stay with 40K and keep coming back! I'll try to get the pictures up in the next few days here.

Just wanted to add my thanks to the organizers and all my opponents, and my congrats to all the winners. I had a fun weekend, and walked away with a Best Painted trophy and some great loot!
My game results were my worst ever in my many years of 40K tourneys , but my opponents still made the games fun. And you know, that really is a great thing when you're having one of those weekends. With a few army tweaks and more practice, I'll get back on track.
Hope to see a lot of you at MechaniCon in the fall! I'll be back at the Colonial next year!
