Well if a virus caused humans to go all super primal, why are we assuming they would stop drinking? If they have a super need to feed, why not drink as well? Not to mention one can survive on drinking blood for a time anyways.

Well thats what I was asking. Now the closest thing to that is Rabies, and the victims won't drink water.

Yea the 2 types of zombies would make for a totally different experience for me. Romero zombies would be alot more fun for me and my group. 28days later ragers, would make me epically more paranoid, because Im not a fast guy and would rely on skills with firearms/weapons/defense then anything else.

Assuming my neighbor's either dead or missing, (and I'm not in the navy at the time) I'd take his AR-15 and all the ammunition I could carry in my ruscksack. I'd don my vietnam era (completely ineffective) flak vest and steel pot helmet and find a group of survivors to mesh with, and we'd hold out on the top floor of the marriot hotel (tallest building within at least 20 miles). Then I dunno. Shoot zombies out of an 18 story window, or move into DC by following the rail system and holding out in the national gallery of art

If I'm the navy while it's going on, I should be pretty safe, until we dock somewhere, in which case watches are going to become a life and death matter. There's enough ammunition and food on an average ship to last a while, but after that, we'd have to form parties to search out more necessities. Might be complicated.

Also, I think bikes and skateboards and things that don't use electricity are going to be valuable commodities, so I'll be sure to keep one handy. And of course, a good knife. My Kabar will be perfect, although a machete would be preferred. Eventually I'll run out of bullets, so it's nice to have a back-up weapon.

Ok so we have three safe zones so far:
1. Texas. baby Jebus has gifted us with more firearms than Europe, and thats just my neighborhood.
2. Danelend. Vikings and the Danish ladies. 'Nuff said.
3. Australia. Killer drop bears, crocodiles, heat, killer spiders, and snakes (I think snakes). No one would even notice a zombie outbreak.

Brazil is a tentative #4. Even the zombies would be too busy doing the samba to be a threat. SAMBA!

I would attempt to turn my Leman Russ Executioner into a real tank. It's a Leman Russ! It runs on ANYTHING! Plus is uses a ammo-less plasma cannon .

Come at me zombies, your armor saves will not SAVE you know .

the problem with the Zombieland list, is thus. Yes having good cardio will be helpful, but see Im PREPARED for that to happen. So while others around me are starving to death or being eaten, Ill be comfy in my bunker, and when the food supply starts getting low, Ill have plenty of fat to burn through. Its a part of my Z day defense plan.

The idea that Zombies would ever be fast it total gak. They are decomposing corpses! They have rotting muscles!

All I could ever see a Zombie invasion being is that a bunch of idiots get infected by being really really fat and slow, then when people learn to walk at a brisk pace away from the Zombies they would get wiped out.

You sir, are the type of guy that gets eaten rather quickly. Why? Yes they are slow and stumbling, but its not a hand full of walkers, its 5 thousand slow walkers. Think where you live RIGHT NOW, try to imagine all your neighbors and their neighbors and so on in a 3 block radius. Your the only one alive, now go ahead and try to out run that.

Well I live on a farm, so it would be a hand full of stumblers! Plus if I was surrounded I would want a some full steel body armor or better, and just use a sword and shield and kill the zombies. Weak muscles also means they can't bite effectively, and there arms would be weak. It would be a slaughter against someone in full armor.

Plus you could have a blast pretending to be Space Marine.

I have considered chainmail as a safety measure in a highly bitey environment to stop them breking the skin and infecting me. Platemail has large gaps at all the joints.

3 England north west lancashire-were i live. we have big farming machinerie and long/crossbows and access to shotguns at my college and a hell of a lot of knoledge with explosives for people whom are not terrorists. and a plan. oh and then there is the case of the British military. the best in the world. i am still in the belief that there is very little disciplined vollies of rifle fire cannot solve.

Zombies could initially be fast, before their muscles started to deteriorate, you'd have to watch out for runners for the first month or so until decomposition and tears in the muscle slowed them down.

Also add the Scottish Highlands to the safe places list. We have the terrain to never be found, and lots of nasty places to lure zombies into or off.

I'm well aware (on both counts), I grew up there! I would take a tent and camping gear and find a sheltered spot and then build something a bit more permanent. Plenty of game and fish to live off, and water won't be a problem!
