Yeah, I bailed out and redone it all with transfers. Even the 1mm tall runes around the bottom of his cloak. Now THAT was hard - trying to get them all to line up. And do you know how many attempts it took me to trim around each one?

Now you see what happens when you desert me part way through a project, Oadie? hehehe

Thanks man.

Thanks git!

Just a quick bump to say that my Farseer won silver in the sci-fi single cat at Salute on saturday! Woot!

I was rather pleased to see it on the winners table to say the least. The overall standard was insanely high and as it was never painted to stand up to the judges scrutiny I never really thought it would get anywhere tbh.

Some of the stuff that got left on the shelves made me realise just how hard the judging must've been, and I am especially pleased given the incredible standard on display there. There were minis that I would've tipped to come home with trophies still on the shelves that never even made finalist!

It was a mega confidence boost anyway, and has inspired me to go balls-out on some stuff for next year. That's assuming the Mayans got it wrong of course.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Victor.IG - The water was an experiment in using Woodland Scenics' EZ water. I simply made the base, put up some retainers around it, and poured in the melted water FX.

You can see a bit more of it in my WIP thread here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/425366.page

Edit - Oh, hang on... did you mean the painted water on his cloak? If so then the WIP has a few shots of the work in stages which might help you see ti develop. Tbh, I just got paint and put it on the model, but if you'd like to know how I achieved any specific part of it then I can go into a bit more detail for you.

I think people will agree when i say nothing. Because then my words won't make it sound worse than it is. I know it sounds stupid (the above) but don't you agree?

I'm totally serious when I say that, I think this is the best 40k mini I have ever seen. I can tell you this: It's the only mini I have ever seen in a thread and felt so strongly about that I needed to go to the gallery and vote on it.
