I don't know tbh! heheh I painted him in many sittings over a good few weeks while doing commissions, so i'm not really sure. I would estimate at least a week though, possibly longer (but quite a bit of that time was spent faffing around with some new water fx I had not used before, and redoing the base a couple of times too

).

Jesus dude, that is mind-boglingly-orkishly-smily-laughably-maddeningly-insanely-awesomely good painting. That free hand blew my mind; that sort of detail you rarely see in the 'Eavy Metals in WD, not to mention the over all effect and the swamp and water that looks perfect base. You have the respect of the Master Torturer forever.

I'll add myself to list of those gobsmacked by your brilliant work - 10/10. Simply stunning - and are those fish in that water? Like the stuff in your gallery too - the big purple daemon is awesome.

Cheers dude. Everything I do is for sale for the right price, though this chap will likely have to stay with me for a while yet, as in the absence of something better he'll likely be one of my Salute entries, and mebbe even GD too. Though I don't go to GD so that's not likely to happen really!

Either way he needs a bit of neatening and polishing off if he's to stand up to the judges scrutiny I think.

I'm not suggesting that he's shoddy as such, but there are certainly a few areas that I could improve upon still anyway.

thanks! Aye, there's a couple of little fishies swimming around, feeding among the Coral. There's a funny water snail/mollusc thing in there too, but that's impossible to see in those pics.

Gorgeous, Orki! I lost track of the WIP thread a little while ago, glad to see you managed to finish it without me (and reversed those lower wave crests!).

Got to love the internet - there's now one more field in which I can say I've spoken with a master!

I'd strongly urge anyone who peeks in here to check out the progress thread, if they haven't already. Seeing the freehand shape up should prove quite educational, as well as allaying any "this can't be real" concerns.
