This would make more sense if othere gave feedback on what they read on other's avatars. More often than not, others interpret something different that what we planed for.

Well I've always used some sort of silly looking Necron because, well I like Necrons, 40k is silly, and there's a whole lot of 40k and silliness on this website.

Seriously though, my avatar came from Gone with the Blastwave, a webcomic that "Isn't active, but he updates it when he feels the urge to". Honestly, I have never laughed so hard as I did in those 45 comic strips. Not only are they all wearing Trench Coats but I figured that I could try to get some publicity for the dude.

And Mathias was also known for being a mouse, not a squirrel Damn, those were awesome books. Martin the Warrior is still one of my favorite characters in any work of fiction, next to Paul Atreides and Ibram Gaunt.

I don't know why I still have mine, probably more than a decade or so now across different forums, I think I keep it just so people who do the same thing can see what poster I am straight away.
I have to be honest, I was probably being a little bit scurrilous when I first used it as there was a fair bit of 'SQUATS SUCK *rage*' going on back then.
Although I do feel a little bit like a fraud still using it, I sold my squats many years ago! (Although, I am collecting Mantic Forge Fathers )

Regarding avatars, I remember someone making a post years ago about the correlation between cuteness-level of an avatar and how aggressive the poster was. But, I think it was more down to a couple of posters (now banned/departed from either this forum or others) who behaved like bulls in a china shop yet had a cute avatar which contrasted wildly with their posting habits.

Agreed, they might have though, no one really knows. But that was an incredible over reaction to a simple question, even if he was being a bit jerkish about it, I mean, who cares if he was insulting sisters of battle? People insult Orks all the time, I dont go for their fething throats over it
