Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The Adam Carolla podcast

"I drive a big car, cuz I'm a big star. I'll make a big rock-and-roll hit." "I am a big car, and I'm a strip bar. Some call it fake, I call it good-as-it-gets."

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I got a couple of different potcasts, and then usually just listen to some music. Nothing in particular, just enough to keep me from having to listen to the voices in my head.

Whatever shows up in my playlist, since it's too much effort to change songs when I'm painting. Preferably music without lyrics, though, otherwise I'll get distracted reciting them in my head and screw up.

GENERATION 7: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Either metal music, usually debauchery featuring blood for the blood god or rage of the bloodbeast, or I'll watch random stuff on netflix

With blood and rage of crimson red,
Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead,
Together with our hellish hate,
We'll burn you all--That is your fate!

I am Red/Black

Depends what kind of mood i'm in, Sometimes i listen to lovecraft or other types of audio book, i'm painting some lotr stuff atm so i'm listening to the lotr audio book and the radio drama version which is ace.
sometimes the soundtracks to films, lotr atm is getting heavy play.
when i want a break from that i'll dig through some old cd's and put some metal on, failing that i'll listen to the radio, usually real XS 106.1fm here in the north west of england

tv is ok to put on in the background but i get annoyed at having to actually move from my painting spot when i get going, my wife says i'm like treebeard, i can just sit there for hours painting away and not realise either the time or whats going on around me
i have to set an alarm to remember to go pick the kids up from school!

Also any of the very few death metal bands with female fronts. Female growl > male growl.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I do either B Spec racing on Gran Turismo (multi-tasking like a pro! ) or The Kill Bill soundtrack vol.1. No idea why but it just gets me focussed on the painting!

I like Flyleaf for the female screaming. Not death metal, and has a strong Chrfistian influence. But when you first see them live and think "look at that tiny girl, this will be cute" only to hear her scream

I tend to listen to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds when I'm working on Cryx. Otherwise, I've been watching a lot of Supernatural lately. Those crazy Winchesters, always going to Hell.

6th Ed Eldar - 4/2/5

"The warhost on the hill was one of the most bizzare sights I had ever seen on a battlefield... Xenos, daemons and humans collected together in units together, gripping dice and paintbrushes; Orks, humans and creatures for which I had no name, clad in ancient armour and clothing; steam-powered walkers with antique-armoured assistants; and many bizarre war-machines, many of which had no purpose that I understood.
An Eldar, bizarrely dressed in a customised suit of power armour and standing on a shield borne by two servants, was carried forth out of the crowd. Raising his Daemon weapon, he shouted three abrupt words:
"Thin! YOUR! PAINTS!"
With that, every member of the warhost screamed out their own battlecry; only a few that I heard were "WOLVES FOR THE WOLF GOD, WOLVES FOR THE WOLF THRONE!", "METAL BAWKSES!", and, strangest of all, "CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!". However, after a few seconds, all these shouts were replaced with a single, simultaneous battlecry:
"DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA! 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO!" Upon shouting this, the entire army charged down the hill, guns blazing." - extract from the report of Colonel Montague, Cadian 12th, on the "Gugalle Incident".

When I'm in the mood to do some epic painting ( ) I listen to soundtracks. Two Steps from Hell, as noted earlier by a fellow Dakkaite is awesome.
The rest of the time painting becomes epic with the proper application of Hard Rock/Metal music!
