Blood ravens are coming first on 5, blood angels second on 4, utramarines, lost count but I think they were on 3, imperial fists and salamanders were tied on 2 each with black Templar. I think I counted this right. I have skipped out on the chapters who only have one vote.
For traitor legions it seems to be thousand sosn then detah guard.

Mantis Warriors i mean they are just awesome they outsmart DE, they fall from the grace of the Imperium and are sent on a 100 year penitent crusade and then they get their good name back by killing a bunch of nids and saving a bunch of people, they have elite sniper teams and I'm not going to lie that mantis head that is their chapter's symbol is what got me to notice them.

The only thing about the black legion for me is I see them everywhere - a very common Chaos Paint job. I value that which is a little more unique, or should I say, less commonly done.

Alpha Legion: why send a Chapter/Legion when one mortal will do. Salamanders are a close second tho.

I really like the Avenging Sons, the Raptors and the Salamanders.

1: the Avenging Sons: one of the none silly chapters.(the Tundra Bees? really?) they also are one of the less fanatic ones like the Black Templars.

The Raptors: Reasonable Marines.

Salamanders: decent folks who don't have to be sterilized and celibate all of the time.

My fav chapter is by far legion of the damned. Even though they are not really a chapter i like the idea of them. Being almost all but eraticated they lived up to their former name as the fire hawks, they were reborn from ash as the LotD. Tey fight in utter slince and fight for the imperium of man no matter how strong the enamy is. If fellow men are in danger the apear from the warp and slay the xenos then just as quick as they appeared they vanish.

To many unpainted models to count.

Dark Angels, but then thats who I play so probably a tad baised. Outside of them ... I really enjoy Mentors, Crimson Fists, Death Guard, and Thousand Sons.

okay im going all out i really like the black templars, their loyalty is almost as astounding as their tenacity,
second is the crimson fists they are one of the coolest chapters ever because they have nearly been whipped out several times and they just get back on their feet.
next up are the iron knights they are the only chapter two have on the centennial feast of blades competition on 2 consecutive occasions
then their are the grey knights who are the stalwart defense against the daemons of chaos and epitomize the true mage knight
and lastly the preherasy death guard they have heros like Nathaniel Garro and before they were death guard they were the dusk raiders who would paint their armor in such a way that when they attacked (usually at dusk) their armor would be hard to see

just as a not for Shadox the exorcist are the only successor chapter to the grey knights so that makes them pretty cool

Iron and Gold, Glory and Coin

RHAKAN BAKAR!!!
YANAD DU'RE-NU

and finally

We existed before the Imperium. and we will exist long after. Our houses may have past into legend. but a knightly High King does not bow before any man. beast. spawn of dark gods. or a corpse upon a throne

Freeblades. Conclave of the Lost Kings
Onixia Crusade
The Clocktowers Finest
Custom chapter. Sarmatian Knights
Cygnar small force all painted
Rhul: Painted 14/3

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Well, let's see...

1) Raven Guard for their tactics.
2) Exorcists because they're cool.
3) Ultramarines because they know how to not fudge things up.
4) Mentor Legion because they are exactly what I would want a Space Marine Chapter to be: elite and wielding powerful weapons.
5) Alpha Legion because they have a lot of mystique surrounding them.

YEAH! Raptors and Minotaurs.
In order for me.
1/2. Emperor's Children and Dark Angels, I like that the Emperor's Children were obsessed with perfection and that Fabius Bile is a hilarious mad scientist, also Deathwing and Ravenwing are cool, plus the Dark Angels are the first legion which boosts them a tiny bit.
3. Raptors, they use drab colours, they generally remain at a distance, and it seems like they have a habit of heavy casualties, which is always cool.
4. Minotarus, not much to say which hasn't already been said.
5. A new addition, the Lamenters, the poor, poor cursed bastards. It is a miracle that they haven't fallen to chaos.
6. Another new addition, the Iron Warriors, still organized, they are grimdark siege masters, and their battle cry is awesome.

I always thought Hawk Lords were cool, plus their paintscheme would be very striking. It would be sweet to have an army themed around how they pilot Thunderhawk gunships.

WHAT? like "Brother Maverick there is ork Figta-bomba on our Tail" "Thank you Brother Goose" "Brother Iceman just made a kill" "Brother Hollywood crashed".

Yeah we'll call it the Bruckheimer Chapter, and the Chapter Master can be called Don Simpson...

Ultramarines

Ultramarines = Space Marines.
Space Marines = Ultramarines.

All the others all feel... cluttered... like a defacing the minimalist brutality of a muscle car with gaudy rims and ugly air-brushing, just to be "special" and "different".

The Space Wolves were the exemplar of what the Emperor wanted the Space Marines to be, not the Ultramarines. The book "A Thousand Sons" made this canon. In fact, the Codex Astartes wasn't approved until after the Emperor died and it directly violated how he had set up the Legions.

Bam.

A.: Black Library is not canon.

B.: Arcane background schenengans ain't gonna change that Ultramarines = Space Marines. The Heresy, the TS, even the Emperor weren't even invented yet when they came up with the concept of Space Marines. Black Library wasn't yet created.

C: Space Wolves are a rather typical example of conceptual clutter. Of Space Marines, who are also Viking/Werewolves/special-snowflakes-who-don't-like-to-play-by-the-rules.

D: 30K is not the setting of 40K

E: The mention you make from a Thousand Sons was a slur from Magnus in direct speech, likely to demean the Emperor, or at least demonstrate his oppinion of the Wolves/the Emperor. Either way, it presents the limited, biased view of one character in the book. It's hardly something said by an omniscient narrator.
