that made me LOL!

Arbites exist in 40k only because GW had the Dredd miniatures license at the time and told Rick Priestly that Rogue Trader had to have rules for every model they made! Along came the Arbites! Nice seeing it come full circle!

(and the Jokaero, too! because they made a model of Dave the Organgutan, mayor of Mega City One!)

Matt/Mongoose,

trying to find the answer but I didn't (could've missed it).

I'd like to pledge for the $300 Council of Judges level, but I already have a lot of those figures from years ago playing Gangs of Mega City One and I don't need dupes of a lot of them (like Robot or Ape gang, etc). Can I mix & match the ten boxes, or is it literally limited to one of each?

Also Matt, since it is question time....

I have pledged $60, but it is for me and my friend.
What benefit do I get for getting the Street Judge level as opposed to 2 Rookie Judge Levels?

As far as I can tell, the Street Judge misses out on a Walter but otherwise is the same? Since we both want a Wobot of our own I am leaning towards getting two Rookies, and if it isnt possible to do in one order, making him get his own pledge so we both get one.

You can indeed mix and match. We'll be in contact after the Kickstarter ends to work out exactly what you are after.

Good point - at the moment, you are correct, but we'll see if we can put something into the Street Judge level to make a difference...

You really need the Cursed Earth story before that.

Basically JD takes "Spikes Harvey Rotten", a perp, and a group of judges on a trek across the cursed earth to Mega City 2, bringing them the vaccine to the deadly plague, "2T-Fru-T". By the time he gets back, Cal has taken over as Chief Judge, and boy, is Cal a madman.

Deputy Chief Judge Fish, ordering the SJS to kill Dredd, ordering judges who displease him to wear either just their underwear, or girls clothes, hiring the Kleggs as additional judges, and even celebrating a report of Dredd's death by making crime LEGAL! (And then getting annoyed when people don't commit any!)

Now I would really like a "Cal's Court" box with a judge in his underwear, and one in a girl's dress, Grampus the Klegg made a judge, and of course DCJ Fish.

Unfortunately I have just spent all my available money on another KS, but would have liked Walter and a Lawmaster bike at the very least.

The news of Mongoose having licences for more than just JD out of the 2000AD catalogue does interest me, however. I hope this means that at some later point we might get to see the other great classics.

1. The Harlem Heroes and their opponents

2. The VC's (The Vacuum Cleaners) in their initial run, not the return of.... (I want Jupe, Hensho, Dwarf Star, Loon, and Ringer, not Kali, Ryx, Keege, etc.)

3. The Ro-Busters (Robots to the rescue!)

4. The A.B.C. Warriors, especially "The Mek-nificent 7" era. (Hammerstein, Deadlock, Joe Pineapples, Blackblood, Mongrol, Steelhorn/The Mess, and Happy Schrapnel)

5. Johnny Alpha, Strontium Dog. Wulf Sternhammer, Middenface McNulty, Torso, and Evans the Fist, all fighting against an army of Kreelers.

Mega-City One is on the alert right now; as we get ever closer to the next stretch goal, the Sov Invasion force prepares its assault on the decadent capitalist judges...

Before that happens though, we wanted to update you on a few things that have happened/are going on.

1. We have added the Lawmaster to the Chief Judge level, giving you more for your pledge.

2. There is an entirely new pledge level - the Citi-Def Soldier. This one will give you the rulebook in a hardcopy, hardcover, full colour tome, delivered free to your doorstep, courtesy of the guys at Wargame Vault. If you have already pledged and fancy this rulebook, remember you can simply increase your current pledge to cover other items. We will be in touch with you after the Kickstarter ends to find out what exactly you were after.

3. Our graphics guy, Will, is just working on the artwork at the moment, but we will be adding a new stretch goal this afternoon - upon touching $18,000, we will immediatly commission new miniatures for Judge Anderson, Judge DeMarco, DeMarco PI, and Travis Perkins. A healthy batch of personalities, if there ever was one!

4. All going well, we should be unveiling Sandrine's new Pat Wagon tomorrow! You won't want to miss that...

Well I pushed us into the Sov Judge stretch goal.

Matt, a couple questions:

Any chance of a Lawmaster box that's got a couple Lawmasters in it?

And, there are several Judge molds you've retired... any chance of bringing them back? I need more! I'm aiming to do Apocalypse War and the normal Judge box has so many specialists, I'd love to get some of the alternate poses (including the female Judge)

a quick question: Do Mongoose own Judge Dredd's copyright and own the rights to sell models?

If not anyone that got into the kickstart can get sue for copyright. Need to know before i jump on.

They've had the license since 2001 or so. It was their first licensed product.

I am hoping more value is added to the current pldege levels

Its nive we can get a fee PSI-Judge but I feel the levels are just not there. seriously I have no enticement to upgrade my Street judge to Wally Judge squad level,

I only want the Dark Judges box set and the Justice department box set. [I may add in the lawmaker and judge dredd but they can wait for now until the survey comes out..

What other things are planed? more updates or have some one on there to answer our questions would be good. lets build a community around this game.

look at the Dreadball KS 1,610 backers with 6,696 comments its a thriving group planning events, asking loads of questions and getting answers really quickly.

Got something a little special coming - will be updating in an hour or so (but if you peek at the pledge levels, you will see a new one added ).

Interesting comment on the Wally Squad level - I'll see what we can do about that.

We are about to update with two new stretch goals, the Block War supplement itself, and the latest work from Sandrine's desk. It is going to be a good 'un!

I'll second that. If you look at all of the really successul kickstarters they have a real nice "sweet spot" between $90 and $150 (or a couple of them).

I'm still eyeballing my Council of Judges level pledge. It's nice to get the extras, but at the same time, I'm not that excited by the scummers. More sets of Judges would fix that problem - even the option to choose my own 10 boxes for the base pledge would go a long way to fixing that.

And is there a way for $300 pledgers to get the lower level items? $5 Dredd, Brit-cit guys? Lawmaster? Even the RPG books as an add-on?

Choosing your own sets out of the ten will not be a problem. Also, we are going to be adding today a Kickstarter-only 'Justice Department II' set, containing all the judges not included in the first set (wasn't that your suggestion too? ).

As for your other question, you can always pledge the additional amount needed for the lower level items (so, add $5 for Dredd, $20 for Brit-Cit, etc). We need to be careful about simply throwing things in at every pledge level, as it ultimately undermines the higher ones. We also have to watch that they do not cost us more than the pledge amounts (and that is a real factor when you consider we have free shipping on everything).

That said, we have just added something to the $150 and $300 levels that I think you are going to want to take a look at

I don't think a sweet spot is something that should be something that is specifically created or aimed for. The fact there has been some pretty good "sweetspots" is cool but more that it was because of the good product.

My take on this is that any pledge level shouldn't be a multiple of another pledge level with the same multiple of stuff.

Pledge Level 1 is $X for Y
Pledge Level 2 is $2X for 2Y
Pledge Level 2 is $3X for 3Y

This gives no benefit to customer to choose a specific pledge as they are all the same. This gets worse when there are pledge level benefits as shown in my below examples.

Using my specific situation you have made me make a choice not that you have added extras.

At the moment I could get 2 Rookie Judge sets for $60 and I would get 2 boxes and 2 Wobots.
OR
I could go 1 Street Judge set for $60 and get 2 box sets, 1 Wobot and 1 De Marco.

Now I have to make a choice and it is killing me. (In a good way)

Now looking at Greywolf's issue (hey there, hoping you are the same Greywolf as on Ausbowl!)

He could get 1 Wally Squad for $150 and get himself 5 boxes, 1 Wobot and 1 Psi Judge....
OR
He could 2 Street Judges and 1 Rookie for $150 and get himself 5 Boxes, 3 Wobots and 2 Psi Judges.

The pick and mix is showing to be a much more popular choice over the flat pledge due to the extras that are available.

EDIT: DAMMIT! now you go an add a pat-wagon and make GreyWolf's decision a lot easier. Good show!

It depends on how much money they want to make versus how much of a discount they want to give.

Nice work on all three counts. Can we add for multiples of the lower level items? For example if I want to get some extra Brit-cit judges, or a couple more Dredds to convert?

Time for the Street Gang and Cursed Earth scum to take a walk to make room for more Judges, and those fatties can roll over for more Holocaust Judges!

This will be quite a big update!

Thank you!
First of all, two more stretch goals have fallen, and we will now be seeing not only the Sov Invasion force make its way into Mega-City One, but they can now be opposed by some true defenders of the city - Psi-Judge Anderson, Judge DeMarco, Galen DeMarco PI, and the Simian Sam Spade, Travis Perkins! Our grateful thanks to all of you for that, it may have been a long, long time before those four characters came out without your help.

Pat Wagon
Sandrine, our 3D designer, has been hard at work, and we can now add the Mk III Pat Wagon as a new pledge (you will find it under the $40 Tek-Judge level). If you want to show perps you mean business but consider the Manta to be an overkill (it is possible), then this armoured Pat Wagon, complete with riot foam dispensers and street cannon, is just what you need.

If you have already pledged and are after a Pat Wagon, it is not a problem - simply add $40 to your existing pledge and we will be in contact after the Kickstarter ends to find out exactly what you were after.

We are also adding the Pat Wagon to the Wally Squad, Council of Judges and Chief Judge levels, so if you have pledged at one of these levels, you are getting one anyway!

New Stretch Goal - Demonic Cabal & Exorcist Judge
Next up, new stretch goals - as promised, we are posting two at a time now, so you can see what is coming up. First, is a new force, one I have been waiting for a long time to add to the game.. The Demonic Cabal! Featuring a Grand Warlock, his minions (probably unemployed citizens who just signed up out of boredom), and demons ready to cause mayhem, they will spend their time courting powers man was not meant to know. With a mixture of possession and true summoning, they will be able to bring terror to Mega-City One - if they can control the demons they call upon...

With all these demons and Dark Judges flying about the city, the Justice Department is going to need some psychic reinforcement - so we will also add the Exorcist Judge!

New Stretch Goal - Pat Wagon Variants
If, with your kind help, we pass that stretch goal, we have another treat lined up. The Mk III Pat Wagon is a widely used vehicle and many are specialised for certain roles - we will add three variants, including a Fire Wagon and (very) heavily armoured Riot Wagon (complete with People Plough!). We will also add the Mk IV Pat Wagon, an anti-grav design (you can see it in the Block Mania story).

If you have pledged at Tek-Judge level or any other that receives a Pat Wagon, you will be able to choose the variant you are after (Chief Judge level, of course, gets one of each). If you have several Tek-Judge pledges, you may want to pick them all up anyway!

You can read more about the Pat Wagon and see more pics at Planet Mongoose.

Block War - It Is Here!
We have just posted the first draft of the Block War supplement on our web site, and you can download it from our web site. It may seem a little short at the moment, but remember we are adding to it all the time, and it will be updated several times during this Kickstarter and beyond. However, we have already managed to pack in the force lists for the Brit-Cit Justice Department, Citi-Def, a preview of the Manta Prowl Tank, and more Mercenaries and weaponry!

Justice Department Set II
We will soon be posting a detailed 'poster' that shows you all the choices you have for box sets at the Rookie, Street and Wally Squad levels. By popular request, we will also be adding a Kickstarter-only Justice Department II set, which will feature all the current judges not in the first set.

Yeah, we were kinda planning that Basically, the little discrepancies you raise will sort themselves out as the Kickstarter range gets more comprehensive. The bigger pledges will always get more in the end.

 KoganStyle wrote:

Basically, yes - you can always choose a pledge level, but pledge an additional amount to cover any additional items you are after. For example, if you pledged at the Street Judge Level ($60), that would get you the Dark Judges and Holocaust sets (and Walter!). You could then add another $5 for Dredd and another $20 for the Lawmaster (total $85). We will be in touch after the Kickstarter ends to find out exactly what you are after.

(Also answers Scipio, I think - yes, you can add multiples for lower pledge levels. So, for example, if you were after two Lawmasters, add $40 to your current pledge. Again, we will be in touch to find out what you are after).

 Lord GreyWolf wrote:

The Riot Wagon might get your attention - heavier armour all round, and a nice, big 'People Plough' at the front!
