Some people are simply not content to ponce around. So if you ever see me at a game club, dont come scream in my face because we are not going to have a civilized conversation about it.

Let's assume all these calls for fisticuffs aren't just Internet muscles and are, in fact, calls for real violence. And, further, let's imagine that it's not a one-hit fight because they're vanishingly rare. What happens next?

-- The brawlers swing a few times before grappling, end up staggering around knocking into other players and tables

-- The tables are likely to have painstakingly assembled and painted models and terrain. Maybe even yours. Crap.

-- These other players sound likely to be kids. Even better, good work!

-- Store/site owner kicks the offenders out for the day at least, calls the police at most.

-- Regardless of the outcome of the fight, you chose to escalate and ended your day and probably everyone else's day of gaming.

But, hey, at least you got your licks in.

Not that I would ever condone doing anything that would land someone in jail or the stockade, but the person placing their mouth next to my ear and screaming..will likely continue screaming , being a rather large combat vet with severe PTSD and startle responses that sort of thing would go badly fast.
But likely the group leader in question did this to the OP because he felt he could get away with it, I can pay my bail, and have excellent legal representation..would almost be worth it to teach some of the D-bags in the world a lesson.

But oh well, to the OP you have conducted yourself well, move on to the new group and forge some new gaming buddies.

Things like this are why I am very careful where and whom I game with.

But now I'm just impressed he's not as ridiculously brash as half of these other posts. I applaud OP for at least being man enough to keep his cool, and walk out of there with some dignity.

Don't get me wrong, fights have their place, but this was not one of them. To react physically would have been the pinnacle of childishness.

I should be clear though. I wouldn't start a fight. But if someone just randomly screamed in my ear, I think my natural reaction would be a fast elbow followed by a swing.

That's still incorrect.

I said I too would have responded with violence... because I would have been surprised and felt pian in my skull.

THEN I said I'm not too worried because I live in NH where cops are infamous for their recklessly slow responce time.

I didn't say a cop wouldn't respond. They would just show up 3-5 hours after the fact. (Even if there's a gun involved)

I could go into further detail with wonderful stories of drunken NH fun but I have more important things to do... like drink orange juice and skim through the DCM swap shop.

Edit: "Almost" only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and the occational tactical nuke.

A lady was being annoyed by tele marketers ringing her all the time so the next time one rang she blew a whistle in the phone and hurt the tele marketers ear. Got done for assault and had to pay $75000. So maybe you should sue his childish ass!
