Well, I was joking about Blanche and Smith, but Mantic does have a novel coming out. It's an ebook, at least for now, about the elves or something. They actually have a lot of nice background in their big rule book, even if it's not terribly groundbreaking. I also love the little in-jokes.

Back to Privateer Press, does anyone know if they plan to release mass market paperbacks eventually, or at least omnibi of their series? I just can't see spending PP prices on unproven tie-in fiction.

How about, because PP has a history that's trending more in the direction of Hasbro (fiction explicitly stated to be subordinate to the toys it's there to sell (yes, PP authors have stated this), with a growing cast of one dimensional characters that you can buy(!)) than Dan Abnett (also based on toy soldiers, but has some merit on its own other than being an advertisement)?

Actually does Dan Abnett has some sort of exclusivity contract with GW?

Would really like to know what he could do in the IK setting.

He most certainly does not, I know he has two originals out, as well as a ton of comics with Marvel I think, some 2000 AD stuff, and a few Doctor Who or Torchwood books.
