I have selected the main bits of junk to represent junk in my junk pile... and realised how small the junk pile is required to be... I will need to think about this...

still tossing ideas around in my head, I have a basic theme, will probably share some sketches on my project log later today

Note- pic of the junk pile model I shared the other day contains a AA battery. Due to concerns shared with me I am going to remove the battery. If I were keeping it for myself I would not have paid it much mind but for responsible purposes I will not use one in any of the junk pile prizes I will be awarding.

I'm starting to get some excellent 'before' shots and have 1 completed entry. Well done all around so far.

I'll post 'final entry' photo examples this weekend for people that are done or getting close. The examples will be in the rules section of this thread.

Sorry Vik, miscommunication on my part. If you post something on your blog PM me and I'll check it out. When I said I wouldn't be visiting threads I meant that I won't be surfing Dakka to say 'hi' as much for a while. Apologies for the confusion. Competition is gonna be steep! Love the turnout though! Hope the majority of contestants get something finished on time. Myself included

I've got a few touches and then I can paint. This is gonna be a bit of a bear to paint, and ima n00b at rust. I should get it done, may or may not be happy with paint job.. but it should get done.

I had no idea all this would happen, but I'm glad that people are having this much fun with it.

I've rec'd a couple PMs with questions about rust so I put together a collection of ideas for rust effects. It's not a tut , it's just some ideas. Hope this helps anyone with those questions.

Well guys i'm nearly done with mine :-) while I still don't think i'm quite up there enough in skill to be a Chaos Lord i'm more than happy to have a good crack at it! nothing ventured nothing gained right! i've perhaps not gone as 'big' in regards to piles of junk but I kinda themed mine and hope the paint while simple, pulls it together :-)

Whew, Haven't even started yet. I have some ideas that involve junk parts I know I have around my desk SOMEWHERE, but I couldn't find them before I headed out of town again. I'll be back with a week left in the contest, so it might be tight, but I should be able to get something going. I'll be looking for small junk while I'm away.

Ooooh-kaaaaay. I just spent invested the better part of an hour watching rust videos...now I definitely need an airbrush. I think I can get away with brushes for this comp, though. I just primed some old barrels and jerry cans (still on a sprue from an old 1/35th tank model) to practice on.

I'll share my adventures in learning weathering techniques on my junk pile project log.

All finished my entry :-)and it's just been PM'd to Skalk for him to judge it's acceptability. fingers crossed!

I'm calling mine done. Who knew painting a pile of junk would be fun
