What do you wear to the flgs?
Just, you know, normal clothes.
My best geeky gear, everyone there actually gets the references!
My store doesn't judge, whatever was the most comfortable clothes I have.
Cosplay! I didn't buy that commissar cap for nothing!
Dress to impress, gotta look good while purging heretics.

T-shirt and jeans.

Unless y'know, I really need to impress, then I bust out the spray-art wolf shirt, dirty khakis, beat up velcro shoes, and the pièce de résistance - a long trenchcoat complete with the smell of a thousand packs of cigarettes.

No really, just t-shirt and jeans. Shoes too.

Mostly.

If I'm just popping in it'll be whatever I'm wearing anyway; Jeans and a tshirt.

If it's for an event, I'll usually upgrade to a shirt or a nerdy tshirt, and shower first.

I notice that 40K tournies bring out a lot of tracky bottoms (sweat pants) and vests (tank tops). It's like, mate, we are ALL nerds here. You giving us a gun show doesn't make you any less of a nerd!

Crocs get a good showing too. I don't care if they're comfy, I don't want to see your gnarled up nasty ass feet.

Me being the perfect example of class and distinction, I wear jeans, sneaks and a shirt/T-shirt. Shorts if it's warm.

I'm probably halfway between Normal and Dress-to-Impress. I wear my everyday clothes (fitted jeans and shirts, etc), but -as my friends will attest- I'm a bit of a hipster, so when I go to the FLGS, I tend to be slightly more fashionably dressed than most.

As compared to the OP's observations, folks at the FLGS (Games Plus) I visit tend to be dressed pretty much average, in clean everyday clothing, with maybe a small smattering of geek references. Maybe it's the moderate midwest suburban vibe, but I don't see any cosplay and very few folks come in their most "comfortable" (read "sloppy") clothes. It's a very visually mild look and a pleasant atmosphere.

A late war Waffen-SS uniform complete with a zeltbahn poncho and a stahlhelm w/ foliage stuck to it. Even if we're playing Catan.

J/k, I just wear a comfortable T-shirt and some shorts. Even during deep winter. Such is life in SoCal.

Jeans and a polo or t-shirt. If I think ahead, sometimes it's a FW shirt like Sons of Horus or Imperial Fists.

Usually shorts and a t-shirt, or jeans and a t-shirt. Many of my t's are gaming or geek related but they get worn everywhere so I don't really give them special consideration when dressing for the game shop. My primary concern is comfort and staying cool since my LGS' gaming area gets warm even with the AC going.

Stained sweatpants, stained and possibly damp teeshirt, decaying hoodie and a miasma of nerdstench so thick you can cut it with a butterknife, I might accessorize with a wrist support or baseball cap (also stained).

And from what I see, I've set something of a trend off across the world with it, because there's at least one of us in every single place I've ever visited, chocking up the air with pestilence...

So... are you saying that being clean and nice is more important than wearing clothes?

Suit and tie, oh my. Gotta look like a Kingsman/Bond while purging, you know?

I actually just wear what is acceptable, which is more casual clothes like jeans and a t-shirt or a nice sweater if it is cold. But, in all seriousness, I have done the former as most of my clothes are office clothes cause of jobs and travel, and the fact I have no shame. :/

But, the caveat here is if you can rock high end clothes... you don't want to look like this chap. Spoiler so as to not be offensive.

Spoiler:

(Totally not trying to help someone get Dakka Bingo.)

Oh and a edit: After reading page one, this is relevant. Because of certain people in the hobby and those outside the hobby who ruin this coat, the only time I wear a trench coat is if it is tailored and worn above my suit in the rain, looks good, isn't creepy, and most importantly in a metropolitan setting such as NYC or somewhere abroad. Even then, I feel guilty knowing how it is worn by most.
