And I almost put the caveat, I could be wrong about the art, but I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong.

Honestly, if someone can find that piece of artwork online somewhere, then I'll agree it's fake. Otherwise someone created it specially - making sure to include several new model concepts! - just to mock up into something they then took a photo of to post online and trick people. Then, having gone to the effort of matching GW's art style, fonts and general presentation for products of this kind, they left in a typo in the copy.

I dunno. I DO know GW is purposefully flushing out leaks with false info and i DO know this would rock, either way.

Ok this seals it. Gw would never miswrite one their own names on official copy.
The long wait for AOS Tzeentch continues.

Not sure if you're serious here Chikout...

GW absolutely miswrites things. All the time lol.

Of course yes, but not their official names on their official copy of a new product. Of course its possible but when you add it to the proportion altering art (something which gw avoids), the poor copy ( a convoluted plan sounds bad not devious) which conveniently stops just before listing the contents, the lack of photos of new minis, the fact that the 'new' minis in the art are all unimaginative variations on existing minis etc , you get a pretty convincing argument.
I would dearly love for a big Tzeentch box set to be a real thing. I have not bought anything since silver tower because I have been saving my money to build an Arcanites army, but this is not it.

Occam's razor says it's real given the current evidence.

Given there was a whole leaked ruleset prior to 6th Edition being released, that's a really shaky assumption based on one poor resolution picture.

"A fan made it" is just as simple an explanation for that one image as "a Swedish person with no prior posting history actually knows someone with access to GW's studio or other high level creative outlet who is comfortable enough to take their phone out and take a picture of a monitor without worrying about being seen and possibly getting fired and sending it to them."

Lady Atia gave her opinion on the veracity of the starter on her blog:

Lady Atia wrote:From what I know, there is nothing AoS major on the horizon for 2016. And I'm not aware of a boxed game called "Lords of Light & Champions of Change".

Besides that - the art looks rubbish, and not in line with GW's new tzeentch style (imo). They kind of have a library for tzeentch stuff these days. Same with khorne, stormcasts, nurgle. They all use common elements (and infact, they can re-use whole sprues or elements from them now) all saved for CAD use.

Last but not least, I can't see a R or TM there. To give you a comparison with the picture from the AoS starter taken from the GW webstore ...

Remember when people saw the ripped box of Magnus and started shouting PFFFT thats so fake! obv photoshop, etc etc etc.

This looks like a digital mockup of a box, not and actual 3d product, so I see no fault in it being incomplete (missing TM and other wording). Suddenly we're all photoshop experts now?

I for one can't wait for some new Tzeentch models.

Yeah more space marines. While I finally stopped calling them sigmarines, it is getting tiring seeing space marines ALL the time now. Getting into fantasy was suppose to get away from that, but now sadly it looks like the only way to get away from it is to start Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit or going to another gaming system/company now.

Starfarer wrote:That's definitely fake. The text below the box sounds like it's written by a 17 year old.

The illustrations are also below part for GW cover art.

What just like the writing GW has now? I don't find GW writing to be all that good right now, and it looks like everything is being done by a 17 year old. So maybe you just confirmed it's real.

Joking aside now, what is this suppose to be? A new starter set?

I believe so, if it turns out true. Though Lady Atia's doubt really makes me believe it's either fake or GW taking a more hands on approach with leaks. (I.e, screwing with us)

Well, people have done more for less. Some people have too much time on their hands.

Also, I definitely get "aww, more Stormcasts?" but at least the rumored premium box sets will add variety, so really AoS is getting five boxsets if this ends up being real.

Also, looking forward to someone making a joke about that bottom left Stormcast and that's what happens when you watch too much anime.

I'm not a reliable Rumor source or anything, but I broached the subject with my FLGS owner tonight and he smiled and said it was going to be similar to the original starter set.

It could have been him yanking my chain as I love Tzeentch models and stuff. Bucket of salt and all that jazz.

Atia said there's nothing major for AoS coming in 2016, but if this is real it's obviously been leaked early and all the text reads as though it's next year anyway ('the year of change is upon us' probably doesn't just mean the rest of November and December, and 'this upcoming year'). And the trademark icons as said before might just not be present as it's just a mockup. I could see it going either way, and I'd be happy if it's real.

Here is yet another nail in the coffin of this rumour. In the copy it says 'models' but GW always says citadel miniatures. ( check the product descriptions on the website.)

It all fits in line with it being a mock-up though.

That's a good point

I think this image could be from a GW order form, their website's retailer section or an email GW sends to retailers. All three have been poorly worded in the past including typos and wrong information like "GSC will be the first allies for Tyranids" when Overkill went into preorder.

Or this is deliberate GW marketing to keep the interest high but not actually showing the product to be released. It was pointed out that the Magnus box-photo and the WarhammerTV video about Magnus were taken in a similiar trashcan. Warzone Fenris II was released in February, and we had several hints from GW like the Silver Towers in space artwork.

I feel all this is to keep people curious: "More Tzeentch models will come, keep your ear on the tracks".

On the other hand Death Masque and the concept of new, multipart sprues in a campaign starter set was quite a surprise back in September. Being able to buy the new multipart Death Watch miniatures at a discount from early on had only been done once before - with Betrayal at Calth. And this here could be an identical approach, with new Tzeentch and new character models but 'old' Stormcast sprues in one set for 125 EUR.

While I think this image still has a chance to be for a real product I tend more towards it is 'a fake'. But the effort put into an artwork and a box mockup is beyond what ordinary folks can pull off - especially at that quality. As viral marketing it worked well though and would be a good use of your department. It was posted basically everywhere and keeps people talking about new Tzeentch releases. What would GW want more? If they had some artwork commissioned that didnt make it into a product, they could use it for those 'leaks' and it would serve a purpose that way.

I guess it really comes down to the artwork source. If its existing GW art or fan art then yeah fake. But if it is new art than its either true or some one has gone above and beyond for the sake of a hoax.

As someone who puts together Age of Sigmar books designed to look as official as possible, I am in awe if this is a fake. It is masterful and I want to know who did it and follow them on social media :-)

If this is real upcoming GW art pinched from the web before anyone has seen it, that still means we are getting all the models depicted, just not in one box together.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I'm leaning towards it being a fake, but it's a tossup.
The weird angle is used for real products, and any spelling errors and inconsistencies can be explained by it being a early mockup.

Anyone claiming that the artwork is too bad for it to be a real product though . Wtf? This is AoS we're talking about. They've churned out a lot worse than this.

The OP is the creator of the art. I have to say, dude, you did an amazing job, especially your concept designs for new models. I hope this becomes a powerful part of your portfolio!

If the artist is reading this, I just want to apologise for slating it before. It looked bad on the box mock up all cropped up and stuff but seeing the big picture there. love it, can see all the details now. I feel really bad about knocking a guy's work especially since its 100x better than what I could probably hope to produce and I was annoyed tbh that someone tried to 'trick' people so sorry if my comments stung you a bit.

If you posted that big picture with the logos put on I would have believed it, seriously the art looks awesome seeing all the little details now and the although the heads are a tinsy winsy bit smaller than usual, the proportions don't look off now.

#TeamFake prevails though.
