Yeah they’re proper 80s old. Sticking them on a green movement tray actually makes them look younger!

Knowing my luck after I’ve done these next month’s theme will be “Age Before Beauty” or something. Actually that would still be ok, my pile could cope with that all year long.

Sometimes I need to slap myself about holding on to minis for the contest. “This guy would be great for topics X, Y, and Z”. No! Bad painter! Just paint it; you’ll have plenty of other things in the Pile of Shame for whatever comes up.

I will admit to offering suggestions for things I’ve got in the queue that I’d like to get done on poll vote ideas.

I've been building a lot in the last week. Not sure how many I'll get done, and definitely not sure how many I'll get painted, but here we go.
HH Beaky Boi Marines! 10 Terminators and 20 Marines built and based so far.

Got some more hobby time in last night although I’m a little behind where I thought I would be it’s not too far behind.

Base colours are on and they are glossed ready for oils and transfers, hopefully will be able to start working on details late tonight once the transfers are set.

Man, I just moving at a snail's pace here. Having a hard time with my model selection. Maybe that's why they've been sitting unpainted for so long.

In less than the time it took me to finish these two, I banged out a Kislev hero for my friend's Warhammer RPG group.
I swear, I must have picked something I'm the least motivated to paint in this round.

I'm half tempted to say, "Screw it, here's another assortment of models I want to paint instead of these models I feel I have to paint."

Kid, painting is not a 5am Calculus grind!

Though doing things for other people balances out what you wanted for even more extra painting!

Moving on when it's done is the way, but no one else is hoping you finish the whole everything this month lol.

Do what you can with the time and give it your all

Don't forget coffee before midday if you drink coffee.

Hopefully I find any time this month D: might have to be 5 at a time, we'll see.

Agreed. If it just feels like a job to get through your pile of endless possibilities, you shouldn't feel committed to it and try something more fun instead. I like to participate for the boost in motivation, but what's the point if that motivation just isn't there?

Photos always tend to bring out any little bit that you missed but you would never notice just looking at the model in the flesh, I always have trouble with things like that as well.

I was able to get some more hobby in after a couple of long days at work, not much left to go on these guys now, need to put a black wash over the metals and bolters, leather belts and the strap on one gun, eyes and highlights on the ribbing then it will be time to glue them on to bases. I think in the future I’ll be doing batches of 10 at least for basic marines.

my Check-in now for painting the next while,

I'll be leaves travelling mid Aug to mid Sept

For these 2 months, I'd need to speed paint like heck otherwise, so I'll be lurking and voting only!

work as usual on returning, maybe the Oct theme lets me round out another block of high elves

Oh, where did half the month go Need to start and chose those three run-of-the-mill gangers, the foundation of House Cawdor and certainly legion, coming out of sewer pipes like the rats they adore (and send out with bombs on their back).
Not pictured my start with the first base colors yesterday.

I'll do (at least one) Stormcast Vindictors; I reckon they are massed battleline fighters, so probably work for the theme.

Got one done!

And I enjoyed it so much, I've built more. Proof pic of the rest of the unit... fingers crossed I get time to paint them!

I'd like to withdraw my completed Lieutenants pic's please.

After some ongoing issues I have stripped all of my mini's painted with AP Speedpaint. Doesn't seem right to leave them as a completed entry when they are back down to bare plastic now.

There's still some time left this month so I would like to enter...

...you guessed it, a couple of Primaris Lieutenants!

I've been busy beavering (or should that be 'ratting') away at a whole bunch of skaven for my recent purchase of 1995's Warhammer Quest. Here's my proof pic to replace my previous proof for the eldar wraithlord and spiritseer. I also have the original set's plastic clanrats to paint - I'll post another proof of them if I get any of them done in time.

The pic is of all the skaven I'm painting (barring the clanrats), but I'll most likely be entering a lot fewer than there are in the pic. As it stands, I have about half of them half painted, I haven't started on the rat ogres, but Thanquol is virtually complete.

This is by far the most models I've attempted to paint in a month...

Same load out is because magnets. I just built the las cannons and fists, I’ll probably build the meltas and auto cannons as well, so I can mix and match…

What size magnet you use? The new kit looms like it’s built for swaps at the elbow, but I’d worry about getting the right size in there and drooping barrels.

They look great.

Mostly, on my phone.

So, a Legion of Enforcers:
Heavy Squad:

Assault Specialist (the gun) and Sgt Howlett, Enforcer promo character:

Ooh. Metal. Old school lol. Both very good in game, both oop.

Howlett adds 2 black command dice to your pool, hence the shoulder logos.
And kitbash Defender squad.

I'm so happy with these as they are literally built out of leftover scrap and got the Mantic seal of approval too

And as a group.

As quick and dirty paint jobs, they do fine.

I finished some more Marionettes:

I kept the darks, er, darker than on the first set of five, but I don't think i've quite nailed the reflections.

I forced myself to go up to pure white for the highlights, and it kind of works. I think I need to do some more research and trials to really master Shiny. I'm pleased with the green glowy effects, though.

I have three drones assembled and primed. I hope to have them done in a day or two.
