@ El Vic - So far my 2 year old does leave my stuff alone, especially when I tell her there are knives and hurty things up there, but I fear tiny horses may prove to be too much of a temptation! I will have to give her one or 2 to play with.

@ Dave - I am green with envy! I don't even know what my brushes are, but at $3 a pop, I'm pretty sure they're not Kolinsky Sable.

@ Bob - Enough with the boot heel! Sheesh! Ahahahahaha! Just kidding, it'll be soon! The base is done, I don't know what I'm waiting on, evey time I sit down to put her on it, I see something else I want to fix or add first, and then that new piece has to cure before I try to put her on the base, and then something else catches my eye... you see the endless loop I am in...

I worked on the plasma pistol last night, it's going to take some time, but it's shaping up. The sword is finally looking like I want it to. I still need to add the medal(s) on the lapel, and the flowy bit of the sash. And some general cleap up, but I'd say, hopefully by the end of next week she could be done.

I'd say, her proportions are a bit odd for me - the legs seems too short in comparison with her body, though mostly due to a juicy breasts, but it's okey for a miniature scale. Anyway she comes along nicely

Kolinsky sable brushes last a LOT longer than other brushes. Keep their points too, if you are neurotic about keeping them clean. What's wrong with juicy breasts?

Yea, definitely looking forward to seeing some centaur action, and totally understanding it is going to be a while Hell, I just wrote their draft army list the other day, so you've got time! Right now they are looking to have 3 different types of centaurs with options, satyrs, naiads and dryads, plus characters with options. It is interesting that you are thinking of detachable armor. It seems like breastplates and cuirases would be a lot of work to do, maybe more than just separate torsos. What did you have in mind?

Also, the commissar, and especially her hand, looks really good! I can't even imagine sculpting hands well at the scale you work at. Well done!

well there are so many things that can be wrong with that kind of breasts... i don´t have to draw any man a pic of what might happen if said pieces of female proportions are not belonging to your partner... or if they are suddenly facing you in a business meating on the other side of the table...and you are trying to make a deal...talk about substantial loss of blood for your brain...that are just two of the worse case scenarios i came up in a hurry...breasts are evil...like chocolate or possibly pringles...eh...? get it...lol

Wow, OK, looks like I got back just in time to get this thread back on it's tracks! Hahahaha! Actually thread derailing is fine with me, especially when the topics are Boobs and lesbians! BTW, congrats Miss Dee, I hope you nothing but happines!

@ Ish - Yeah, it seems my hopes of the short legs just being a visual thing were dashed after I added the hat and other things and she still looks a bit off. If Loredragon2 is bothered by it, I can shorten the torso a bit. And just hide the cut under the sash. And yes, I like the name El Vic! It sounds dangerous!

@ Dstein - Yeah, i'm not the best with keeping my brushes clean, so I'll stick with the cheapo's for now. I'd rather spend less for throw-away brushes, but if I ever actually strat painting on a regular basis, I might change my mind.

@ Wehrkind - For detachable armor, I was thinking just about any kind of armor I can make detachable, breastplates to chainmail. It may end up being thin, but I can keep and eye on that and be sure it's not too thin to cast. Then, for models that you want armor on, you can just pop it on! Although making realistic looking straps to go with it will be a different problem. Those might have to be sculpted on by the end user, or, I could just model the base torso with belts and straps and ropes and such in strategic places so it just looks like they have them on to attach weapons and wineskins and such, but when you put the armor on them, the straps and ropes look like they are holding the armor onto them. I'll give that a think.

@ El Vic - I forgot to take pictures of the pistol this morning. I do however have pics of the commissar, and where the pistol will go when it's done!

Speaking of which, update pics! As you can see she is finally on the base, I still need to add the sole to the front of the boot, but the heel is on! The hands are attached, but the wrist on the left hand still needs wrok. The sword and the Plasma are almost done, sorry no pics yet. Just a few more additions to the model itself, and then 2 weeks or so of looking at it to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. Just kidding, more like a couple of days.

It's hard to see, but here left thumb is missing too, I need to work on that!

So, let me know what you think.

mate ...simply stunning work here...

just some minor thoughts from me tho...you know there is no day without some dread like that^^

frist: the armpits , the connection of sleeve/arm to the mainbody looks a bit too thin...i would add there a bit of thickness...otherwise i doubt she would be able to flex her arms that way... that coat can´t be a second skin...

well actually something else to dread you i can´t come up with atm^^ as the work is simply too good to be true^^ the sash at her hips is cool looking... the pose of the hands..even with one thumb still missing is very good! will there be a handguard for the sabre? the small wallpart looks very good... i always try to make a cobblestone looking basedecoration with exess of GS or air dry clay but i can´t get that radnom look done...there is a simple twist what keeps me from doing it looking right... so nice to see you capable of that^^

@MrMerlin - Thanks!

@ El Vic - Thank you, I hadn't noticed the thin armpit before, thanks for pointing that out! It does look off.

The way you worded the second part, I thought there would be a second item to dread, but I re-read it, and see that you couldn't come up with one! Hahahaha! I can do that just fine on my own though! I'm always seeing something else that I need to take care of. Unfortunately, I sometimes forget that I needed to fix it. I need to make a list. And check it twice! Ah a little Christmas humor...very little.

The poses of the hands were really just a fluke, that came out right in the end. I sculpted each hand separately, holding onto the appropriate item in each case. Only after they were cured, did I even hold them up to the figure to make sure they looked right. And then, I added GS to make the trasnition of the right hand mesh with the glove. I will be doing the same on the left. I think the left glove is a bit thin too, so I'll bulk that up a bit.

The wall, I'm just glad it looked decent. I had never done something like that before. I seem to be saying that with all of my sculpting lately, mostly because aside from pottery class in High Scool, I've never done stuff like this before! I'm diving into uncharted waters with every new sculpt I do! And I have not learned my lesson yet! I have lots of stuff on my list to do, and I keep adding more! I even want to do a Daemon! From scratch! I think that will be awesome, but it will have to wait a good long time!

Anyway, thanks El Vic, I really appreciate the flaws you and others find. When you have been staring at this little bugger for hours, you just don't see the little things that can throw it off.

Thanks again for the Critiques and Comments everyone, your interest and kind words drive me on! Especially when I am dog tired like today.

@Capitansolstice - as long as you read it in Yoda's voice, it's all good! Mmmmm, yes! He he he he! Honored I am! Mmmmmmm, yeeeeesssss...

@ El Vic - Well it's a festive time of year! Personnally, I can't wait for Midnight of the 22nd, we go to a little secluded spot in the forest, and build a huge bonfire and dance naked around it until the sun rises! It's very exhausting constantly turning around so some part of you doesn't freeze off!

Anyway, I got a HUGE package!... In the mail...from Ebay, last night...what were you thinking of?

In the package was most of the bitz to build a Defiler. I say most, because I didn't want the ranged weapons, but I think I have just about everything else. I also bought some daemon prince arms, to see if they will work as extra DCCW arms. If they don't, then I'll extra DP arms. Cool! So, with this Defiler, I am planning to put a Berzerker on top, with a chain to a large Brass Collar round the Defiler's neck. So, then I will have a Slaughterfiend! However, I am planning to put the head where the cannon is, and the cannon on the lower chassis. I'm not a fan of the head on the top look. It just looks off.

Also, with the this order, I got lots of spikey bits and such for my Rhinos, but I'll post about those in the World Eaters thread.

Ans last but not least, I got Horses! For the Centaur Project! I took some pics with cadians for scale.

Here are some of them, there were 6 in all, that I let Monster #1 play with while I am at my desk. OMG! She loves horses!

And here is one of the horses next to a Cadian. That is Monster #1's hair on the edge of the picture. I had to be quick before she grabbed that horse too! And the "Shooty Guy"!

And just for kicks, I stuck a Cadian on the horse, Cetaur style, to really get a feel for the scale. I might have to do something like this for "Mutant Cavalry"!

These horses will give me a base scale and inspiration to sculpt my own horse bodies for the centaurs. Some will be much larger, but I think the smaller centaur bodies will be close to these is size. Of course that's all up to Wehrkind.

That's all I have for now.

Later!

Well, I suggest it's possible to make the legs longer and it should be easier, than shortening the torso, though I feel myself a bit like a douche suggesting reshaping the nearly finished model. Female proportions are a matter of taste anyway... Let's get back to the juice breasts topic!

And the "Mutant Cavalry" idea is priceless!

Thanks Ishkatar, I ran it by the Client, and he is fine with the proportions, so I'll leave them alone. I'll keep an eye on that in the future though...or at least I will try to. While we are on the subject, are the proportions for the blank I had cast OK?

They seem fine to me, but I'm maybe a little to close to the subject to be impartial.

Oh, and Boobs!! Jugs! Kittens in a blanket!

After I get done with the horse sculpts, I might use these horses for rough riders, and make them sort of "frankensteinian" with scars and stiches where the humans were attached to the horse bodies! Who knows!

Woo so much stuff!

Commissar: Looking pretty bloody awesome! That is going to be a great model.

Centaurs: YAY! Those look really good, even as mock ups. I think we are pretty much on the same wave length there I just put your blanks in a box with label, and they will go out in the mail tomorrow, so you will have some nice little resin bits to hack apart

I see what you mean with the armor, but I think that doing all the armor as detachable will be too difficult, partly because it will have to be REALLY thin to not look strange at that scale (looking like a parka instead of 1/4" thick metal) and it will be really fiddly to get the straps working. I suspect you could spend two to three times as long making armor bits instead of just 2-3 different armored torsos.

One option might be to make a body made to socket armor into. That way the armor can be thicker and interchangeable. Of course, you are still almost doing individual torsos at that point since the fronts and backs of the armor won't be interchangeable.

If you do individual torsos with armor, you could always make very basic curaisses with add-ons like groin plates, shoulder strap/plates or the like.

Plus side, at least the greeks used sculpted breastplates, so some can just the normal bodies with some bulk seams and straps added

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

seeing your mockup... some thoughts have crossed my mind...:

i think the horseback currently is too long...i know it is just a mockup and everything is changeable...so in my biew the back should either be shortened or the torso of the human body...whatever you will take to make this should sit a tad more behind...very awfully description of mine here...

also i have thought... since the centaurs will be part human and part horse...what will you do with them clothwise? will they just be armored and otherwise naked? or will you do something to cover them up? this is a most akward idea of the whole centaur theme for me... i always was confused how those beings could run around stark naked...i guess there is no point in adding saddles here lol... but something i think should be done on the back of the horsebacks then...

oh...and your monster 1# has lovley curly hair...and i also try not to show my kids in the web...and boy are they interested in dakka and the web... but i think it is a wise decision to keep their small faces from showing up...but do send her my best wishes...^^
