I'm with several people here. That is a very heavily armed transport. I wonder how much the different weapon options reduce the transport capacity by? I'd imagine it's different for the las cannon and the demolished Cannon, but that may just be wishful thinking.

FORGE WORLD BULLETIN #38

One of the great things about Warhammer Fest was that the team from the Forge World Studio got a chance to meet all of you there and chat about the hobby. The designers, writers and artists spent the whole weekend talking about what they’re working on and how they do it.

The Forge World Studio team were at Warhammer Fest en masse.

Neil Cook from the Forge World Studio couldn’t wait to meet a real Space Marine!

Another great thing at Warhammer Fest, and one so many of you who were there have told us you loved, was the demonstration pods, where throughout the weekend, the Forge World Studio guys provided hundreds of hobbyists with advice on painting and gaming.

Mark Bedford gave advice on painting Forge World armies…

…and Andy Hoare discussed how to collect and play games using Horus Heresy armies.

You may have seen something of the new army Forge World has just launched – the Solar Auxilia. The Lasrifle Section, Dracosan Armoured Transport and Tank Crew are all up for pre-order now, and there’s loads more to come! I managed to get hold of a few of the fantastic models from the upcoming Solar Auxilia Veletaris Storm Section – volkite charger-toting veterans clad in reinforced armour. Take a look…

Sergeant and troops from the Solar Auxilia Veletaris Storm Section.

That’s all from me for now. Make sure you check back soon for more from the Forge World Studio.

Couple of bits of forgeworld news gained from MCM yesterday.

1) warhammer forge is not dead, just sleeping, there are 2 sculptors that they employ for warhammer forge, these guys have been temporarily for another project (see 2), while this other project is ongoing the warhammer forge push has been scaled back considerably, some of the gone kits might be back after the big thing and they will start pushing the warhammer forge marque again sometime in the future.

2) the Big thing, forgeworld have something HUGE planned for heresy, after book 4, which is what they have all the sculptors and rules guys working on, once this has come and gone we should see a resurgence in warhammer forge and IA books (they were considering one of each a year, for IA and HH with WF slightly less often).

3) No timescale on blood angels or dark angels, which suggests that neither are part of the big thing, but I was told that when they both get done it will be done in a BIG way with a lot of material and books in very short order.

4) Heresy weekender will be earlier this year, some time in feb.

that is all.

At Warhammer fest someone asked about daemons during the heresy, and Alan said something like that they would do 'different' daemons because there were so many Kinds/Types?

So maybe this is what's happening? The warhammer gribblie sculptures being pulled into the new project??
reading between the lines I wouldn't read this as new Gods! I think it means a wider range of units for the ones that exist.

Someone else might remember exactly what he said??

Panic...

I honestly do not know, all they told me was that it was big enough to require their entire workforce (oh and it'll be some time in the next year or so)

For Angron, maybe. It sure looked like Calth/Shadow Crusade is up next, from all the UM and WB artwork. It said that rules guys were involved, so maybe it's some new scenarios or ways to play related to the Shadow Crusade, along the lines of how Book 3 had the Tactical Strike and Blood in the Void rules.

Issue being that as "big thing" could very well be daemons, bur wouldnt that involve the blood angels on signus prime which they have stated arent involved in the big thing. Other than that maybe some HH aliens to represent minor skirmishes throughout the heresy?

Sergeant and troops from the Solar Auxilia Veletaris Storm Section.

Give them shotguns and you have perfect 40k-era naval armsmen in voidsuits. Bound to be pricey though....
 Melcavuk wrote:

Minor alien races would be interesting, but it seems unlikely given that at the moment there are enough minor xenos factions lurking in the 40K background to give them their own codex, and neither GW for FW have ever shown any inclination in that direction.

FW have stated many times that they see hh as man vs. Man while 40k is man vs. Alien so I'd put that as unlikely.

They've said that the destruction of prospero is a massive undertaking so that would get my vote.

Huge plus requiring a lot of people? I'm going to guess Warlord Titan plus Mechanicum/Dark Mechanicum as their own army list (like Legio Astartes got a minimal fluff codex for their army list)

I am liking the auxilia, but I must say I'm more inclined to see the more tradtional crusade-era Army troops with the shakos, breastplates and the like, ala

Meaner looking Vostroyans, basically.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

If the big project is Prospero Burns, and they need to do Russ, you'd think that they'll include Freki and Geri? Theres a job for someone who does monsters (Trish Carden?).

It wouldn't make financial sense for the 'big' project to be a large model. You can't dedicate your whole team to a project that is going to produce a high grade model that whilst will generate a lot of profit per unit, at the end of the day will not sell many units. If Forgeworld ever do do a Warlord Titan, it will be a one man job mostly from start to finish.

Now that's out the way... Prospero is the only considerably huge project on the horizon, considering the amount of factions and flavour those factions have. In which case the rather 'huge' part of the project could be the massive red cyclops that will arrive with it.

So, along with speculation on the HH event, what happened to that Rumor about IA 14 and the Tau? That's kinda dropped off the radar and I'm curious about what happened to it, did it die?

Don't have the book on me at the moment, but basically (and without giving away all the stats)..

- Hell Blade is the same in terms of stats/HP, but 15pts less
- Loses Agility, keeps Supersonic
- Gains preferred enemy against a single enemy Flyer or FMC nominated at the start of the game
- Can phase-shift D6" in any direction before it moves, but must end facing the same way.
- Can pay 15pts to upgrade it's two TL Reaper Autocannons to two TL Heavy 3 Rending Autocannons

Yep, the Hellblade has some real teeth to it now, but it is fragile as hell.

It does get a Daemon 5++ however, so it doesn't need to rely on jinking, and thus can shoot at full firepower until it explodes.

Note, I said until, not if.
