Hi
Over the years i had quite a few Moments when
I was tempted to do a bloodclaws cyborg proctologist
Threatment to People touching my minis without asking.
First One was a Guy who played my eldar with his necrons.
When fighting my wraithlord with his pariahs he killed the wraithlord
And took a pariah tourning him very fast and yelled " pariah roundhouse kick bi***" knocking
Over my wraithlord and Breaking the sword.
I ended the game at this Moment..
Second one was a Guy who kept removing my casualties Even i
Told him that im gonna do this myself. He grabbed several minis at once
Scratching the paint Job while doing so.
Third One realy was the best.
Had an APO game at the local Game store.
Brought my whole eldar Army including 2 revenants 1 phantom
A Vampire raider, and 4000 points of other stuff.
I was going to the bath Rom and told the owner to Look got mY stuff.
( other player was going to get some food).
When i left i saw a man enter with his tree sons.
When i came back 2 of the Kids hat taken the revenant and the Phantom
Crushing them in the Air and making fight noises. Owner and dad were Talking upstairs about some Marine
Starter sets...
I realy flipped out... Fortunately Daddy was a dentist and paid me new stuff and Money for my effort in building and painting.
Now its yours, what was ur worst experience?

Holy gak, that example with the titans sounds extreme!
My worst experience was when some random bystander looked at me and my opponents models on the table when suddenly, while we were busy resolving an assault and pile-in moves, I hear my thunderfire cannon fall from the top of the ruin terrain I placed it on, because it was knocked over by the bystander who wanted to pick up my tech priest. The thunderfire cannon broke in several pieces and got scratched on several surfaces. I never forgot the long moment of silence, while me and my opponent glared at him, while I had my "death stare" on..
Generally though, I've had positive experiences with other people almost always asking to if they can pick up a model, and most people I play with always respect eachothers models.

I tell players I will gather my own casualties for that very reason. Although, I have had that happen to me on a few occasions. It is why when someone asks me to hand them theirs, I am super careful to ensure they do not touch one another. I've actually had a few players tell me they dont care to just grab them. I still did it my way.
My worst was when I was renting an apartment with a buddy. We had a room dedicated to gaming with some built in wall shelves. We each had a shelf and shared a 3rd. On my shelf, I had my undead army on display. Many of the models had been oop for over a decade and some were other companies and such with a lot of conversions.
My roomate decided he wanted that shelf to put his models on so he took a cardboard box and did the arm sweep of the entire army into it, ruining the paint jobs and breaking much of it.
He never paid me for the damages and I only got an apology out of him because he thought I would kill him.
I gave it all to one of my other buddies to salvage as he could because I didnt have the heart to even make the effort.

The worst experience I actually had was where I broke someone elses model.
I was playing a game and the measurer slipped from my hands right into a Tau drone. The drone broke off of it's standard. The guy obviously wasn't happy but was cool about it nonetheless.
I would've understood if he'd demanded a replacement. On the other hand, if someone were to break one of my scarab swarms, I wouldn't force him to buy me an entire box of necron warriors because that's just ludicrous.

I have 3 full squads of metal LotD. I had some unlucky rolling and lost 5 to massed bolter fire. My opponent, who has a habit of quickly picking up models he just destroyed, swooped up in one hand all five models. All I heard was, "clank, clank, clank" as the models hit and rubbed against one another. Without hesitation and without really thinking, I blurted, "Don't pick up my models!" Usually I am laid back, but I just couldn't help myself. Ultimately, the models were fine and most people in the store ask before picking up my models now ;-)

I let someone see my painted Exorcist and they accidently dropped it on the table. Thankfully all that happened was the organ pipes and their mounting base came off (as they were pinned together) so I just had to fix that.
I've also seen an Eldar Titan get bumped and snap at the ankles despite being caught and not hitting anything, but that was resin and not too hard to fix either.

I have a very nicely painted high elf lord on a star dragon that I had flown behind enemy line right at the edge of the board. When it was my opponents turn his shirt got tangled with the wing of the dragon and it fell off the table breaking a wing, the dorsal spikes of the dragon and decapitating the lord in multiple ways.
I was cool about it at the moment but my oponent simply said "oh sorry" and went on with his turn ... when I think back about it, it still upsets me but such is the risk of playing with fragile toys.

Worst experience for me was my dear darling daughter, when she was about 5.
She loved the nids i played at the time (and now plays them herself), and i had a hard time keeping her from touching or moving them when gaming at home with friends.
One night i was making dinner, only to hear an ungodly crash from my game room.
I went in to find my daughter in floods of tears, and the floor littered with metal parts.
She'd picked up my converted metal hive tyrant, and then dropped it.
Not sure who was more upset about that one, but the reassembly/repaint took weeks.

I've yet to have a problem with people touching my models. intentionally at least.
The worst one was I had just finished converting a Storm Raven (kit wasn't out yet) and put it on the counter only to have a bunch of MtG players come in and put all their back packs on the counter because they didn't it my model and knock it to the ground breaking off a bunch of parts.
Also the countless times my opponents manage to accidentally bump my Fateweaver model (coverted from a pewter LoC) knocking it over and breaking off an arm or something.

People don't touch my minis. The last person who touched them... well, he's not going to do that again. Or do anything, ever again.
Seriously though, the last guy who touched my minis was an obese greasy-finger manchild. Picked up some models I painted when I was 12, saying home "gak and fething rubbish they were and I needed to start putting an effort into my work" He then proudly showed me his magnificent* freehand on his Rhinos and his incredible* airbrush ability with his Eldar. He then reached out and grabbed my Stormtalon and said "this is a start but its still fething rubbish." Then he reached for my characters, setting the flyer roughly down on the gaming table. A swift wristlock and a stern talking to. He hasn't come within 12 yards since. And the club I was at didn't have enough room to swing a cat.

Our FLGS is pretty cramped, I've had my Stormraven knocked off the table and shattered on the ground (gluing it back together took forever, and the pieces never did fit together well). We also constantly have problems with little kids grabbing our minis while we're playing. We've talked to them, but they just don't seem to have any self-control

Never had a bad experience myself, I tend to be very quick to nip any touching of my models with a "Please don't touch those, they take a long time to paint by hand."
Several people have tried and i always get rude looks when i tell them not to but seriously I dont understand why people think its ok to pick up a random strangers belongings.
As for opponents i usually let them remove my casualties if i see theyre careful with theirs and I always ask if theyd like me to remove their casualties or if they prefer to do it themselves. Usually simply showing the courtesy wil put their mind at ease and show I am concerned and respectful of their models.

Never had much of a problem with people grabbing my minis. I've knocked a Raider off my friend's DE off its magnetized baze. It landed on the board and didnt break, but I definitely felt that "oh gak" moment. He was super cool, but I would have felt really bad about it. This is also why I try to be super careful around models right on the board edge (I'm a pretty tall guy with lanky arms and our FLGS has little space between tables)

The worst experience with people touching my models was when I wasn't even home.
My little brother (8ish at the time) had shown an interest in Warhammer and I had been showing him how to play whenever a friend from up the street would come over to play.
Well one day said friend phones up the house asking if I'm there hoping to get a game in. My brother answers the phone and says he'll grab my High Elves and come over to war.
So my industrious little brother moves my High Elf army into a GW box and puts it on the stairs leading upstairs while he puts his shoes on.
As fate would have it this is exactly when someone knocks on the door. Normally this would be no big deal but we had a rather large dog at this time. And as many of you with dogs know when there is a knock at the door...
She comes barreling down the stairs to "greet" whoever is knocking and completely tramples my army under her descending bulk.
My brother was petrified of what my reaction would be but I was somehow very calm about the whole thing (Strange for me as I was prone to losing it over stupid shiz at that age)
It was a ton of work straightening all the bent metal spears/lances and repairing all the structural and paint damage. But I'm glad I remained calm as he's been my most consistent opponent since.

Confessor Of Sins

A number of years ago, I had my gaming table set up in the basement with my painted and flocked Realm of Battle gameboard on it. My mom and I played a couple of turns a night back then, so it took a while to finish a game. One day, my brother was having a party, and I wandered down to the basement to be awkwardly sociable.
I noticed that they'd set up their laptops, and had plastic cups full of drinks, on my RoB board. Which had had an in-progress game on it. They'd just moved the models out of the way. I dunno if anything was broken, but that's why now we have my old bedroom (one of my brothers moved out a number of years ago) dedicated to tabletop gaming. Admittedly, my brother hasn't really had any parties like that for a few years, usually just a friend or two of his come over and they play League of Legends. And holy hell can they ever be loud.
I used to get a bit upset when my mom would remove my casualties, and more-so when she'd pick up a model to have a close look at it during a game. Then I calmed down about it, and I guess since we play entirely with my minis to begin with, it's not such a big deal because even if she removes her own casualties and not mine, it's still my models she's touching.
Back when I played at a store, I used to be the one who'd pick up other people's casualties a bit carelessly. I don't think anything got broken, but there may have been some small chips in metal infantry paint jobs here and there that I'm unaware of.

Worst I've ever had was actually more involving ME getting hit alongside my minis...
Our one LGS's old location had a very long & narrow gaming area. Along the outside of it on the one side of the tables were the shelves for all the board games & RPG's, etc...
The one day when 6 of us are playing a large 3v3 game, a young mother, (I'd say in her early 30's), comes in with her pair of brats. The younger one who looked to be about 5 or 6 was loudly going on about the Pokémon figs he was wanting, while the older brat who had to be about 9'ish was left to go "explore" on his own.
Unknown to us as we were fully engrossed in our game, the older brat comes up behind the side of the table I'm on, and thanks to his mother's complete lack of parenting skills, let alone a semblance of knowing where your freaking little gaks are, the kid proceeded to physically climb the shelf behind us.
Turns out he was wanting to look at the something on the very top shelf, and to get there, he decided he needed room to put his feet to keep climbing... so he picks up a rather heavy box and just tosses behind him, where it lands first off the side of my head and then crashes into a squad of my converted Guardsmen & shatters them.
I've had numerous concussion issues, (granted I don't expect strangers to know such a thing), but because of my history, an ambulance was called, along with cops. (more to put the fear of god into the dumb*** mother that ultimately, she can be held legally responsible for her children's actions when they potentially cause serious harm to another/s through her complete negligence)
Not only did we never manage to find all the missing bitz of Guardsmen, (including a couple of heads w/sculpted berets and a pair of metal Necromunda backpacks), but I was also forced to miss a couple days of classes, plus a week of hockey due to getting hit in the head.
Worst of all is the fact I couldn't properly sleep that night and had to keep being woken up every few hours!
Hence why I tend to hate seeing young unattended children in hobby stores.

My worst one didn't include any actual direct touching of my models. I was at a Warmachine tournament at the local shop, and had my army sitting next to my case on the table beside the gaming area. Nothing but large metal warjack models.
Well, someone decided that they wanted the space on the table to play a game of magic, and instead of asking me to move my case, which I would have done without complaint, they decided to push it to the far edge of the table, not realizing my army was between the case and the edge. Me and my opponent were doing the pregame setup when out of nowhere there's a huge crash, my army hitting the floor and shattering. The guy goes, "oops" and then proceeds to pretend I don't exist while he and his friend set up their decks.
I admit to being tempted to grab his deck and scatter it around the parking lot.

I've been fairly well off, I've mainly been the culprit when it comes to my flyers (Warp damn those Stormtalons and Vendettas!), but my brother has occasionally knocked them over during gaming. No biggie though. I did have an accident in a Kill Team tournie at Warhammer World, when my opponent accidentally knocked the building one of my Sternguard was sniping off. Split straight in half. And that, ladies and gents, is why I always keep a spare bottle of glue in my bag!

I shouldnt read these threads, they make me remember things I'd rather not. Stupid me, I read them anyway. I was just reminded of the time my crazy ex and I got into an argument. I had a seward trunk full of models in trays (they work GREAT with army transport trays) sitting next to my chair. She turned she-hulk on me, picked up the trunk (the top was open) and slammed it down onto the floor. The trays protected most but there was still a lot of damage done.

Wait you have numerous concussion issues yet you play hockey? I mean I'm just saying that sounds funk.
On topic. When I was starting out I bought a greyhunter box and was learning how to put them together. My 6 year old niece thought it'd be cool to grab uncles minis that were drying and use them to play with friends outside. I recovered 1 greyhunter. No possible clue where others are. He was made a lone wolf, and now I put up everything higher then even I can reach without assistance.

I haven't really had any except the one time I was building a tank (I think it was a Tau Hammerhead) and I couldn't get the fuselage together. Anyway eventually I did, and my brother came and trod on it -.-
The other way round, I remember when the tyranids came out in 4th with the plastic Carnifex, and I was looking at someone's Nid codex and knocked their carnifex. It broke the little spike off the end of the barbed strangler. I felt awful and the guys reaction was pretty scary considering I was like 12 or 13 and he was a grown man.

Did you sue or at least press charges? Being a negligent parent is one thing, but when he assaults someone, that's a whole nother issue
Nope. Calling the cops was as I said, more or less to just scare the crap out of the urchins' idiot mother. I got checked out by the medics and wasn't showing any overt signs of being concussed. Just had to take it easy for a week or two and head to the hospital if I started feeling woozy or queasy.
It would have been far more hassle to press charges & go through the legal system when the worst that I suffered was a week of downtime. Now if I'd lost consciousness, and/or ended up admitted to hospital, then damn strait, I'd have demanded charges for negligent harm!
But seeing the kid get scared ghost white and his mother get chewed out by a pair of officers was enough for me to at least hope that she'd learned her lesson about minding what her little spawn were up to.
And it's a lot harder to sue people under Canadian law.

Admittedly, as a long time hockey player who's now had to give up on playing due to too many concussions, (and horrible knees), we're not exactly known for our sheer brilliance!
