.. things still unfolding so expect a few details to change...

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=56670

Following the El Capitan's customary organ concert and elaborate curtain rise, the event started with the Marvel Studios opening sequence, and the arrival of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, out to a warm reception. "I want to start with something you've already seen, thanks to the fine people of Hydra," Feige said. Of course, that was a reference to the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" trailer, which then played on the big screen.

After the trailer, Feige pointed out that "Age of Ultron" writer/director Joss Whedon was in the audience, which the crowd was very happy to hear. Feige mentioned that "Guardians of the Galaxy" was the 10th Marvel Studios film -- and the highest-grossing domestic movie of 2014 thus far -- something that "blows his mind." "What James Gunn did with that movie exceeded all of our expectations," Feigie added.

Feige also briefly talked the upcoming release of "Ant-Man," set for July 17, 2015. But he said he wasn't there to tell people things they already knew.

"Let's talk about Phase Three," Feige said. First revelation: The full title of the third "Captain America" film is "Captain America: Serpent Society," which is scheduled for May 6, 2016.

Announced officially for Nov. 4, 2016: "Doctor Strange," which gets a logo reveal on the screen. "I think I've been talking about 'Doctor Strange' since the day I was born," Feige said. "Because I love it, because it's very important to us, and because it takes us a while to work on these movies.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" has a new release date: May 5, 2017. The film was originally announced for July of that year. A short video from Gunn plays on the screen, telling the fans he wanted to spend the "whole summer" with them.

Coming in July 28, 2017: "Thor: Ragnaro."

"Chris Hemsworth is returning as Thor, of course Tom HIddleston returning as Loki," Feige said. "This is a very important movie for us in the Phase Three timeline," he continued, comparing it to how "Captain America: Winter Soldier" also changed the course of Marvel Studios. The film will pick up where things are left off for Thor in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"Black Panther" is made official for Nov. 3, 2017 -- "T'Challa himself, and all of Wakanda" -- is coming to theaters on . "We have already started seeding things in the films leading up to this moment," Feige said, calling Black Panther one of the most exciting and integral Marvel characters. The film will be about the "isolationist nation" of Wakanda meeting the rest of the world, which may go well and may not.

Another new character joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "Captain Marvel," set for July 6, 2018. "I want to make it very clear that this Captain Marvel's name is Carol Danvers," Feige said. This film has been in development alomst as long as "Guardians of the Galaxy," according to Feige, who said the character straddles two worlds -- Earth-bound origins and outer space adventures.

If that weren't enough, the Marvel Studios head announced a slew of new films that are sure to excite fans -- by way of an Infinity Gauntlet onscreen with the next two "Avengers" films on the stack: "Avengers: Infinity War" parts one and two -- Part 1 hits May 2018, Part 2 in May 2019.

In fact, that wasn't even close to all: Feige was joking about the subtitle for the "Captain America" movie, and confirmed that "Captain America 3" is actually "Captain America: Civil War."

thinking Thor 3 is probably "Ragnarok" there maybe ?

.. Bit confused as to the Cap. 3 stuff there.. hope a bit of editing improves that ?

Chad Boseman was confirmed as playing the Black Panther, and came onstage alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.

"I'm blessed to be a part of this Marvel Universe, to work with you both and to make magic together," Boseman said.

Plus, if you want a first look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe design for T'Challa, Marvel has you covered:

Feige signed off, saying "We have a lot of work to do." Certainly, with a film slate going all the way through to 2019 with two fan-favorites confirmed to join the Marvel film universe, that statement has never been more true.

Huh, So Cap 3 is going to basically be Avengers 3? That's pretty interesting based on how well 2 did as a movie carried by just Cap.

I wonder if that means Cap goes down in the first Infinity Gauntlet Avengers and the shield gets picked up by Bucky. Breaking the Infinity Gauntlet up into two films is probably for the best too.

That's a lot of superhero movies coming out. With only a few I'm excited about since I'm not a huge comic book guy.

Now that is an awesome lineup! Called Panther and Marvel a while back, but 2-part Avengers is a neat idea. Although with Ragnarok and Civil War, will any of the Avengers been alive for the Infinity War?

Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther are all characters I know very little about.

I think my total experience of Doctor Strange is some cameos in the 90's Spiderman cartoon.

It's a nice sign that it seems that Marvel's first female title lead in the films, will be, well, Captain Marvel. - Pity we're talking about it being 4 years away.

Seriously, anyone getting really quite, well, scared about the sheer timespan things are going at?

Soooooo hyped.

Also that image is old. "Serpent Society" was a ruse; it's Civil War but according to the dude, it's "very different from the comic book Civil War". We should all be thankful for that.

Are they discussing only the ones that Marvel is putting out themselves? By that, I mean that I don't see the Deadpool movie listed, which is being done by Fox.

That Black Panther costume looks fantastic though!!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Yeah, this is just the official MCU releases. Doesn't cover anything Fox has (FF4, X-Men/mutants, including deadpool) or Sony (Spiderman).

Yeah, this is just Marvel Disney. As far as I know, the other non-MD Marvel properties in the pipe are Deadpool, F4, X-men: Apocalypse (featuring the First Class lot and set in the 80s), a Wolverine sequel from Fox and S6, Venom:Carnage, Spidey 3 and a 'female-led Spiderman spinoff', presumably Black Cat or maybe Spiderwoman.

Seems the official Marvel line is there are no other Marvel films -- no Deadpool, X-men or Fantastic Four or Spider-man mentioned.

In fact the F. Four comic has just been/is about to be put on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

Word has it that if the X books weren't such big money makers for Marvel they'd be suspended as well.

I like how you can see the building arcs and interconnected nature of their release plan.

Very different impression than I got from DC's "Holy crap! There's money to be made in an interconnected movie universe. Quick release one movie bloated with a bunch of characters who haven't been introduced and start churning out movies as quick as you can." approach.

Not really... IMO, the heads at the studio seem to have this down to a near exact science.... Release too many too soon, and you'll get burn out, release not enough over too long a span, and people will become disinterested, as well as the actors aging beyond the capabilities of "their" role.

Plus, lets be honest here, most of us comic book fans are basically garuanteed to buy tickets and merchandise, and with the increasing quality that is coming from each film that money will probably only go up.

True, there's a very clear plan here. Avengers 2 will probably leave the Avengers shattered, with Thor going off to deal with Ragnarok and Stark and Cap falling out over picking up the pieces (Civil War). GOTG and the Inhumans, along with maybe Cap Marvel if we get to see her Kree counterpart, set up more of the spacey stuff, and by the time Thanos hits with the Infinity War, we could well be looking at a galaxy level conflict that forces the Avengers back together, maybe even with a Guardians team-up on the cards.

Wait thats different how?

One studio released individual character movies which have slowly introduced each character who would later appear in the big team up movie while also giving us little plot points building towards the next wave of movies (Infinity stones introduced via villains in many of the first wave movies, Thanos and the Nova Corps appearing in GOTG etc.)

The other studio is making a sequel to a Superman movie which will somehow include Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg? etc.
