Recently bought the Stormclaw box and I've been wanting to paint the Orkz minis..

I don't know which primer to use.

Black? Gray? White? Brown?

I don't know which primers are good for whatever painting style's desired.

Grey is pretty much my go to now as it allows the greatest flexibility.

I spray mine white, because I use washes over white for the skin (one coat of earthshade, then 2 of whatever their green wash is called I can't think of it right now)

If you have an airbrush, Vallejo's Russian Green PU primer is a great base for um... anything green, really.

I... actually don't know. Help?

I can't really answer your question, but where did you buy the Stormclaw box?

Depends on the colour scheme being used. I usually use a grey primer as a generic 'go-to' but if I am doing a specific colour scheme then I sometimes use Army Painter colour primers or similar. For my Bad Moon Orks, I use the Daemonic Yellow spray and then wash with green - it works surprisingly well.

I prime white, then spray yellow, using More Dakka's Bad Moond painting guide.

If you're not running Bad Moons, the AP pale green would be great, both that and bone cover really well (the daemonic yellow doesn't and needs to go on top of a white primer). Finally I suspect the AP desert yellow would work really well, and would make good Ork skin, needing only a green wash).

Thanks for all the feedback!

That link to the Bad Moons tutorial is really something. I'll probably try out that same technique!

I guess my lot will have to wait 'til I find time to go to the hobby store..
