This set of eight archers are based on English longbowmen from the 13th to the 16th century.
They are unarmored longbowmen posed at different actions: knocking, drawing and loosing arrows.
The set contains 8 detailed and individually sculpted figures.
They can be assembled with optional accessories, including bucklers, daggers, belt pouches and belt hanging weapons.

Now available for sale for $10.

They're good looking, basic figures. I also saw your foot knights.

I think here most people would be interested in mixing them into GW armies, you might want to consider a few scale pics showing them with GW Brettonians, Perry archers and others.

I'll have to dig out some figures for comparisons. They are much more in the direction of GW and less like Perry. I have some of the foot knights from Perry, and they are thinner (probably more to a true scale than my archers)

These are all plastic, right? And your siege engines, too? The foot nights are a fun kit, but I really like using your helmet sprue and weapon sprue to spice up other minis.n and sometimes vice versa.

Yes, all plastic. It's the only think I use at the moment. High Impact Polystyrene. You can use model glue to put them together. I've beel using the Plastruct Plastic Weld lately... I thought it penetrated the best. Tamiya Extra thin cement works well too... Testor works as well.

Yay, plastic! My favorite medium!

I've had a lot of success using Humbrol Precision Poly on the knights.

Anyway, some scale pics.

Where is the armoured knight in the middle (running, bihander) from? He looks awesome.

That is from Mantic, one of the Basilean knights.

Look very nice! Great that they scale well with similar minis.

Would be a pretty cool 'levy' type alternative to the 'Yeomen' of the recently released Perry miniatures.

I would like to see a big unit of these mown down by some armoured cavalry, Medieval: Total War-style

What are the shipping costs like?

I had a quick look with a box of longbowmen. $8 to both the UK and Aus, which is very reasonable.

Spoiler:

The parts you used for the Mantic Greek-elf (last on the right) where do they come from? Which manufacturer? And especially the swords arms. Thanks!!

I accept some of the bottom knights from Perry, and they are thinner.

The figure on the right has the head and shield of a Wargames Factory Hoplite. Everything else, including the sword arm, is from the Mantic elf scout sprue.

Since this is the eccentric minis thread, I would like to add that eccentric minis has some very nice weapons sprues that would work well with Mantic figures to give them true scaled swords and maces.

Pretty reasonable. I just need to regenerate some spending mana after the holiday season and I'll make an order.

$10 for 8 HIPS figures, plus postage?

The figures look nice enough, but honestly not that nice. I guess I've been spoiled, both by the Perrys (especially) and also what I can get GW Bretts for NOS via internet discounters.

via eBay/discount games store, I can get them for only a little bit more ($27.30 for 16 GW multipart figures with extras - standard, musician, leader parts, defensive stakes, additional parts and heads, etc).

Are the GW ones worth $7.30 more per set of 16 (or $3.75 more for each set of 8)? We'll each have to be the judge of that ourselves, but for me it's pretty simple.

Well, they're good figures for a low box price, which makes them easier to impulse buy even if they are more expensive than Perry minis per model. Also, You don't have to buy a bunch of sprues of knights to get the archers. But you can buy sprues of knight heads and weapons or great crossbows from the Eccentric store for a good price on top, and the shipping's starting to look more reasonable. Then you have to consider the tingly feeling of altruism you get from supporting a small one-man-operation business instead of some faceless corporate fat-cats like the Perrys*, and you can't beat that deal.

*May not be serious.

Sure. It's just a small thing, but somehow 10 models for $10 wouldn't have rubbed me quite as much the wrong way. Not that I have any real problem with them or Eccentric. They're just Not For Me for the reasons given above.

Also, if you wanted lots of archers, you'd go for the Bows and Bills Perry set, not the new AtoO English.

Fair enough. There's just something about Perry minis that rub me the wrong way. Maybe they're too authentic. Too much history and not enough History Channel.

If I want a looot of archers, I'd buy both Perry boxes. And that's what I'll be doing.

If i don't need that muh, I'll be taking these and maybe get a shield sprue or two.

The great cross bow they made is actually really nice. It looks like a nice cheap alternative to the expensive bolt thrower kits a lot of the armies use.

They do look nice. Everything needs a more professional paintjob, though.

Now if Eccentric is reading this, I'm offering to paint up and take photos of your miniatures and I accept miniatures as payment! PM me if you're interested! I've done deals like this with Shieldwolf and Damsels of Darkmyre before.

I'm from the future. The future of space

I really like the half way point between GW's goofy comic look and Perry's ultra-realistic proportions. I think it really works. It reminds me of 6th edition WFB plastics.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
