We all know who truly champions the best pizza in America, but this justifies it!
A new report from TripAdvisor was released showing which cities in the country are the best for pizza. Here are the results from their findings.
10.) Miami
9.) Phoenix
8.) San Diego
7.) Las Vegas
6.) Washington D.C.
5.) San Francisco
4.) Orlando
3.) New Haven, CT
2.) New York City
1.) Chicago
According to a press release, TripAdvisor determined the best city for pizza by gauging “the quality of pizza restaurant reviews, the quantity of pizza restaurants and their reviews, with more weight given to reviews in the past year, and the ratio of pizza restaurants and reviews compared to all restaurants for the city.”
Although Chicago was named the best city for pizza, Juliana’s Pizza in New York City took home the title as “Top Pizza Restaurant in the U.S.”

I've only had the actual Chicago deep pan pizza on the one occasion -- and one must say it was delicious, the crust/base was more pastry like than one was expecting, indeed making it more like an actual pie -- but have always heard good things about the New York City pizza as well.

As far as Chicago pizza goes, it's OK, but I like NYC pizza better because I like pizza better than casseroles.

People either like or hate Chicago style.

I find it to be like a crunchy lasagna. I love a good lasagna.

I personally prefer New York style pizza, but Deep Dish is pretty good too.

Deep dish is a good pizza, but I preferred NY style even before I moved up here.

But as long as it’s done well, it’s all good. I’ve had good and bad examples of both city’s styles.

Are you talking St. Louis style pizza with Provel cheese? Because if so, it only deserves to be thrown in the trash.

When I lived in St. Louis, I met more people against it than for it. So much that they had shirts made about it.

The funny part is, the ranking of the top ten pizza restaurants doesn't include any in Chicago.

Anyway, I just like good pizza, no matter the "style".

The best Pizza I've ever had was in Berkely. There's nothing quite so delicious as an avacado, chicken and olive pizza hand crafted by a socialist with a heart full of bitterness towards the petit bourgeois parasites. From each according to his oven to each according to his hunger.

Hoboken, NJ has the best pizza in America. "New York" pizza is actually New Jersey style, but dont try telling them that. Chicago deep dish isnt actually pizza at all, its casserole. As a casserole is great, as a pizza its terrible.

My experience with eating pizza in Chicago or NY - or Philly cheese steak in philly is that it usually taste better when you aren't in those places. The best Pizza I ever had was in Houston Texas at a chain called New York Pizza. Literally nothing comes close to that place in my book. Also - I really like Sabaros.

The best philly cheese steak ive ever had was in Jersey as well. Jersey cheese steak is even better (served on a round roll, often with scrambled eggs mixed with the cheese). NJ is also hotdog capital. Pretty much the only areas where our food game is weak is bbq and chinese takeout (but we have way above average dim sum, thai, korean, japanese, and non takeout options so thats okay).

Some New Jerseyite's attempt to cook chicken fried steak started the American Civil War.

Do you mean Sbarros pizza? Man...I worked at a Sbarros pizza place in college. You gotta up your tastes, brother. That stuff is not that good. Then again, I live in Norwalk CT now and have access to the #2 and #3 cities for pizza on a regular basis, and I grew up in an upstate NY town called Oneonta that had at minimum 12 different family owned pizza places; and at least ten of them were full blooded Italians either fresh off the boat or the children of fresh off the boat Italians. It was a good way to grow up.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I finally got to try genuine Chicago deep dish earlier this year (Lou Malnati's) and after having it, I can totally agree with this ranking.

Most "Italian" pizzerias are actually owned and operated by Albanians, at least in NY and in certain parts of Jersey.

Not in my hometown.
I was friends with a lot of their kids, and my parents were friends with the owners. Small town, LOTS of Italian families. Actually, the younger brother of one of my oldest friends is marrying into one of the families. Place has seriously epic garlic knots too.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

We have a chain of Pizza places around my area owned by an Italian family. The first was in my home town. Dimaggio's is pretty much the best pizza I have had.

My Grandpa was telling me a story a couple months back about going there when they first opened and they couldn't speak or understand English yet. He loves that pizza.

Yeah...not sure that I agree with much of anything posted there. The best Philly cheesesteaks are in Philadelphia, just not at the places where tourists tend to go.

Chicago-style...eh. I've had some I thought was really good. But for the most part it's too much cheese for me. I lean NY style. Same thing for hot dogs.

That assumes that the rest of the North would rally to NJ's defense.

It wouldn't.

Kind of like how all the small donut shops in North Texas are run by Koreans (and every one of them makes better donuts than Dunkin')?

Meh, I've never been one for deep dish pizza. Too much sauce for me. Then again, I did grow up in NY state.

I have to admit I haven't tried Chicago deep dish pizza, though it doesn't really appeal.

But New York pizza is a life changing experience. It's fething amazing.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
