Thanks Dr. Hopefully this weekend I'll be adding the finished Bel Quapoo pictures and also pictures of another WIP, the Unspeakable.

There are subtle highlights on the black. I took a 50/50 codex gray and black highlight. In a few sections I highlighted it a bit more but for the most part left it that deep charcoal gray highlight.

Finished my boarding master.

I had some pictures of the Unspeakable too but I didn't like how they turned out. Sorry.

EDIT: New picture.

The Unspeakable is a shadowy figure that never leaves the Ice Angels home world of Shattermantle. It is said that he hunts the hives and subterranean forges of the planet searching for any lurking evil or corruption amongst the population.

After posting this picture I once again found plenty of things I still need to work on and fix. I need to highlight his helmet more along with fix my lame attempt at OSL on his plasma weapon.

Really liking all the the purity seals on there, the colours break up the blue nicely and yet still let you see the blending. very cool stuffs

Yes the blue is really good. thou I suspect that you should be getting to be a expert on all things painted like ICE!

My only suggestion is to do a more pronounced highlight on the black. I have had decent luck with dry brushing a grey or silver on my blacks to give them a crisper more defined edge. I see it on the Boarding marine but not so much on the plasma pistol guy.

I like the white of the gun. really stands out!

Thanks bigfish and Git.

I see what you're saying there Solar. I'll have to up the highlights a bit on the Unspeakable. Something I did run into is the way I laid the greenstuff on the Unspeakable's helm. It didn't give my any good lines for highlighting. Any suggestions? My green stuff skills need to level up.

Sometimes you can paint in the edges. Theater set painting does this alot. Not the same as a crisp edge but can be pulled off if done right.

I can barely use GS to fill gaps. My GS Kung fu is weak.
My plack painting is getting better. at least you have white down. White always gives me trouble.

begin rant:
Day light savings is such a wonderful idea, isn't it? However, something really bugs me. The simple changing of time creates a ripple of funk that seems to affect everyone. We just changed time! No one slapped you this morning and pooped in your coffee. Stop freaking out! Complete rhetorical question, but why is change such a destructive force in today's society? Don't answer that!
end rant:

When I got home today I was very happy to see two packages. I love getting packages! It doesn't matter how often I get them or whether or not I am expecting them. I just love getting packages. Perhaps its the opening of the packages that I look forward to, or perhaps the simple enjoyment of something new. I don't know, but today when I got home and saw two tiny packages in my mail box it made my day better. I found that these two packages had a lovely synergy as well. One was my phenomenal marine from Knightley that I spent about 45 minutes staring at. The other was bits that will be soon converted into an Ice Angel and sent to Knightley!

See! All is right with the world. All I'm missing now is my third package that has the body parts I'll also be using. Get excited!

Here is Solar's guy.

After some cleaning and some attaching, I've got Knightley's marine mostly put together. He is now ready to be primed. I've also picked out some bits for Chemicals marine. Apparently I'm in some sort of lightning claw kind of mood. I hope thats okay with you chemical!

@ Gitsplitta - thanks!

@ Whalemusic360 - All of those are from your thread except Aquilum, the yellow and pink guy.

@ Solar - I agree! After Adepticon I am expecting an epic Lamenter from you. I want to marvel at these checkers up close.

@ Knightley - Thanks Knightley. I think he looks good on an ice world. He'll be fun to write about, but I've a lot to cover before we get to know Brother Micus.

Here is my marine for Solar_Lion. He still needs a name and some eye work, but he is mostly completed.

Here is my WIP for Knightley.

After changing my mind multiple times I've finally figured out what I'm going to do for chemical. No pictures yet, but the hard part is done.

As some of you may know I have a lengthy Ice Angel fiction page. I've been working on it for I several years now. I've noticed over time as I write more and more of it, my physical army has begun to change with it. (the BA codex changed too!) I've got a boarding party, more dreadnoughts, lots of assault trooper for ship to ship combat, yet I have a lot of models I can't see myself every using again. For example, I've got 20 some bikers. When would Ice Angels ever use those? Personally, I've never been a big fan of space marine bikes but I acquired a bunch of them years and years ago.

The question that I now present to you, is should I keep them or sell them to someone who'd get some use out of them. As much as I like saying I have them, they are just collecting dust. They are at the bottom of my repaint list and honestly I can't see myself ever fielding them, even in an apocalypse game. I know there are people out there that field them. At Adepticon last year there were entire armies of them!

Now, it may sound like I've already convinced myself to get rid of them, but if I apply this logic to all of my unused guys I'd be getting rid of all sorts of stuff. My scouts for example. As a Blood Angel codex player, you don't have a good reason to field scouts when you can bring assault marines. In terms of fluff, would Ice Angels field scouts? They wouldn't be much good in the void of space. Then again, that raises a whole new set of questions, what would Ice Angel recruits start as if not scouts? I guess they could still be scouts but spend most of their earlier career doing planet side missions. Forward recon and such. More importantly though, do I want to repaint old metal space marine scouts?

Hmmm, now that I've rambled for a few minutes I'm going to go back to painting my GMS marines, but please tell me your thoughts. I'm sure many of you have been in a similar position in the past.

Ice

I was struggling with a similar question about my Eldar army... most of it anyway. Got a lot of varied advice... all great. In my case, I've decided to keep my favorite elements as the foundation of a future army (should I decide to get back into it), then sell the rest.

Same here.. I even more than Git keep most of what I have, personal attachment issues I suppose. I will part with things I have no attachment too; but I'm inclined to do so with only things to help with new folks or friends.

No real solution, you have to decide what your attached too!

When in doubt, wait it out!

Picture of further WIP of my marine for Knightley.

Due to the fact my marine is going to be added to his army of squiggly lines I decided he needed some right angles to stay sane. I still have some more angles to add and another layer of white to add in a couple of places. I need to finish the base and due some plasma pistol cleaning, but I made serious progress on him today.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

First off, I apparently had become unsubbed from the fiction thread, and now have an unholy amount to go through. Challenge accepted.
Second, you seriously need to tell me what the lc is. Seriously.
Thirds, I sell almost nothing. Im a bit of a mini hoarder (have 3 of the 25th anniversary marine still in wrap). My warhams room looks a bit like a game store...
