Looks to be the perfect counter piece to squiggles! is there any chance of a clean base so I can have him match my army's bases?

Second, you seriously need to tell me what the lc is. Seriously.
Thirds, I sell almost nothing. Im a bit of a mini hoarder (have 3 of the 25th anniversary marine still in wrap). My warhams room looks a bit like a game store...

Enjoy the read! Not to toot my own horn, but I feel my writing has greatly improved over time.

I feel out of the loop, what's lc mean?

Damn! I totally spaced the base thing. I apologize. He is currently glued on and based with sand and other rocks. You should easily be able to paint it to match your scheme and add your flock. I can try to remove him though if you'd prefer.

It's a good thing I posted the wip before I added the ice crystals, that'd really not work with your basing scheme.

OH MAN! As you can imagine, Adepticon was awesome. I got to hang out with my team and check out all sorts of stuff. I believe the most beneficial part of the weekend though, was the sheer amount of inspiration that the event provided me.

That and the ability to shop at forgeworld! Hmmm yes. So here is a pick of my haul from Adepticon.

The box is one of my bits boxes but the baggies on top are all of my new goodies. More of that later! After returning from the awesome weekend trip, my typical OCD kicked in. I completely unpacked within minutes of returning home. Even my bits had been put away! Good lord, I have issues. That's a whole other blog though, lol. That evening I began to stare at my Ice Angels and I realized I have some that I don't like and some I want to get rid of. The last few hours of the evening were me planning, plotting, and scheming. Here are the results!

These guys are getting repainted. btw, those guys plus a few others will complete my assault squads to a grand total of TEN legal squads.

These guys I demolished, cleaned, and then gave them a bath in simple green! I think you'll like some of the things they'll become, more on that later though.

Lastly, here are some guys that I plan on selling. PM if interested in anything, otherwise keep an eye out for ebay in the near future.

Throughout my wonderful weekend I managed to get some modeling started. Here are some of my WIP pictures. What you see will turn out to be 15 assault marines, a techmarine, and a priest.

NOW, here is my important question of the day. I have an old blood angel techmarine that came with a jump pack. I don't want him on a jump pack so I stripped him and tore him apart to be re purposed. Now I don't have any tech marine bits so I decided to try and make my own servo back pack arm contraption. I wanted to step away from the multiple arm repair claw look. In essence I wanted guns, however while this process started I thought to myself, "If I were a techmarine what would I want to bring to a battlefield? A flamer? no. A meltagun? nope. I giant rocket launcher? HELL YEAH!"

So I ended up with this.

Here are all of his pieces.

I am still tweaking him and determining what works and what doesn't, but I need some assistance. Is that rocket launcher to big? Should I try to find some counterweight? Am I out of my mind? Any ways, let me know what you think before I pin it all together. Oh, one more thing, with the current configuration, that missile arm will swivel!

Thanks!

See how his feet are positioned bigfish? See that left foot coming off the ground?? That's because he's falling over due to the weight of the missile launcher!

Very nice. I love the three-eyed, lightning-clawed assault marine!

As for the missile launcher, do you have a cyclone you could use?

I haven't decided yet, some sort of counter balance. I don't think it will be another gun though.

Gitsplitta wrote:See how his feet are positioned bigfish? See that left foot coming off the ground?? That's because he's falling over due to the weight of the missile launcher!

He is running, not falling over. Thank you very much. I mean missile launchers can't be that heavy. Can they?

Yellowbeard wrote:Very nice. I love the three-eyed, lightning-clawed assault marine!

Thanks yellow beard! I don't have a cyclone though. I have this missile launcher and then some other typhoon launchers from the dark angel sprues. I'll mess around with it some more today. More WIP will be coming!

More Tech marine options. Thoughts?

I like the second tech marine options better... just makes for a more visually balanced figure.

Interesting helmet on him... from that view it looks like he's got a mini-armored elephant trunk!

Very cool

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Here is a WIP of sergeant Hwolock and some of his squad mates. They are coming right along. Technically, Hwolock isn't part of a veteran unit but he has yellow on him. Don't judge me! Any ways, its nice to have some of the old models mixed in the new ones but I find myself working more on the old repaints more then the new guys. After I finish this small five man unit I'll be working on my swap for chemical. He has been based and primed and is ready to go.

Oh, one of the guys I stripped we'll also be turning into a Tiger Claw instead of an Ice Angel. BRING OUT THE ORANGE!

UPDATE:
I finished up the squad. Hwolock got his white fists, yellow gems, fired up jump pack, etc. The others received similar touch ups.

The helmet is from a chaos marine. It typically has a giant horn coming out of the side but after some cleaning up it works great as a typical helm.

Here are some WIP's of my marine for chemical. I still need to do his sword and a couple other things, but he's nearly there.

Ahh, that's what I thought, but I didn't recognize it without the horn. You're right, it works very well as a tactical helm.

I like it (and the rest of the marine) quite a bit. I'm always impressed by such fine highlighting. I've seen similar lightning effects that finish with a wash over the rest of the blade. Are you going to do that or just leave it with the thin lines?
