From what I recall, yeah, the first book for that campaign was just Orks v Guard. Then the Wolves showed up in the Stormclaw booklet. And then it became a Daemon/GK show in the final book.

Red Waagh had the Admantine Lance (Knight formation), the Steel Host (Guard armour) and the Rampart Detachment (Bullgryn formation).
So no wolves, but plenty of Imperial formations.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
What we`re saying is that SoB players should be super excited and absolutely expect to get at least three formations with no chance of horrible disappointment at all.

In any way.

You guys have got this in the bag.

Or a formation:

Purer than Pure
1+ Squads of Sisters of Battle

Humanity's Shield: Any squad that takes casualties that can draw LOS to a friendly Sisters of Battle unit may ignore 1 failed save for every Sister within LOS. Remove the Sisters instead.
Faith's Sacrifice: Whenever a Daemonic unit enters play, remove one squad of Sisters of Battle. That Daemonic unit takes 1d6 wounds. Take saves as normal.

I like the direction, the rules need to be just a bit better. You need to strike just the right balance between encouraging people to spend $100 on a unit of Sisters and then filling them with unending despair when that unit barely appears on the table.

I suggest the following tweak:

Humanity`s Shield: Leave your Sisters at home (proof of purchase required). All other units in your army receive a 3+ invulnerable save.

Yeah, my prediction is that the second book will focus on BA and their successors, with a specific focus on the Flesh Tearers...essentially a FT supplement built into the campaign book. FTs showing up in so many of the new Tyranid pics -- and not straight-up BA -- seems like it has to be a clue.

There weren't any Space Wolves formations in The Red Waaagh! were there? (Could be wrong I just don't remember any)

As that book is analogous to this one in terms of their recent campaign format I think we won't see any until the Stormclaw style boxed set.

Dont forget SW got their codex, and a supplement and some new stuff closely to the campaign, just as most people hope BA will be codexed with this campaign.

On a side note, I begin to find it hilarious how desperatley "patterns" are found in every odd whim GW follow these days. There is no "recent campaign format" yet, there is just a recent campaign.

Well, it is the only thing we have to base our info off of. Book 1 of sanctus reach had no wolves in it, and its safe to assule that BA will be involved in a campaign called shield of BAAL. If not, then GW hq is literally full of people that just like to troll blood angels fans.

Except if you were to really go and look at "patterns", you would be looking at the End Times releases for WHFB rather than the 40k campaign release...but even that doesn't necessarily hold.

So far the rumours imply the first set will be IG, SoB (Gasp!), and Tyrannids. I'm inclined to think there won't be BA in the first wave, despite it being Shield of Baal, simply because three different factions (or 2.5, depending on what you view the sisters as. Or maybe 2 if the sisters end up just being a footnote like the Valedor campaign since using them as a footnote is a tradition at this point) is kinda enough, isn't it?

Odds are pretty much guaranteed BA will feature at some point, obviously. Since it's Baal. Hell, the novel series was leading up to this point for crying out loud (if anything, going by the novel series, the finale should be a three way between Tyrannids, all BA chapters (besides Lamenters) and any allies if any allies are still alive, and Chaos). That won't happen until the nids reach the "inner systems", though.

No, it was what is known, in some circles, as a "joke."

That aside, does this thread now hold some sort of record for the most mileage from the least information?

No, I'm pretty sure actual SoB threads have you beat there. Incidentally, I think the disappointment of the last few I saw are why no one is talking about these rumors in their own thread yet.

That first message of him I can see as a joke. The one I was quoting, though…

It's understandable that you don't get it Hybrid. You're a SoB player after all, and historically they lack any sense of humour. I think it stems from not playing a real army, or an army that anyone cares about (except other SoB players).

Or, to put it another way:

1. The first post was a joke.
2. The second post was a joke to petre, as it's one I've made in the past.
3. This post is me ridiculing you for not understanding that it was a joke (because you're a SoB player, etc. etc.).

In any case, you should know by now that we don't need to tell or make SoB jokes because the SoBs are already a joke to begin with.

Posting a joke designed to be inflammatory and create flamewar is trolling, you know.

Trolling has lost it's original meaning, it can be used for goofing around, mildly amusing at someone or something's expense or not conforming with the norm.

When did taking the piss become the spark for a flamewar / equated with trolling?

This thread has become a strangely predictable emotional rollercoaster:

See new post.

"Oh Em Gee, pictures!" Click.

New content turns out to be speculation, profession of disappointment at the lack of new information or discussion as to the nature of the Blood Angels. Often, it's all three.

Die a little inside.

I am fully aware that this post only contributes to that, for which I am sort of sorry.

Too true, not worth starting one unless we get more ‘solid’ information. Also demoralisation is a reason lots of Sister players are not bothering to respond to people trying to get a rise out of the them.
Yes, it has got that bad
