Lookin'better with the new head IMO. It adds a lot of character. Also, the strap makes it look heavy. Any particular reason it's attached where you did it? I would've attached a bit higher I think.

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

Looks like there's a couple of mold lines I need to clean up yet...

Much better now.
And yes, those Spacewolf heads are great.

Thanks, I think both are a distinct improvement.

One more to go and I can start painting! Might even get it done today. Looking forward to getting this unit sewn up... been a long haul and I'd like to see it finished.

Yay Spacewolf scvout head ftw..... we are slowly bringing you over to the dark errrr furry side

I like the strap too, if you do another guy, for a laugh do a similar pose but put one of those girdle things around his waist and an arm against his back, like geeez this thing weighs a ton... lol would be fun, just like the devastators that got discussed from way back when with the wrong plug connectors for the plasma cannon and the instruction manulals etc

If you need some heavy flamers let me know I may still have a few on-sprue, I tend to prefer giving my termies assault cannons.

As mentioned in another thread... if I were going to do Space Wolves I would actually do a Space Shark army proxied as SWs... that way I could have land shark (Buelette of D&D fame) riding cavalry!

I wonder if I can build a small force with a minimum of figures that would take advantage of some good rules but be really fun to carry off modeling wise... Anyone have a suggestion for say... a 1250 or 1500 pt force that has the wolf cav as some other good signature stuff in it? Not too many models is a bonus... but I would like it to be viable as an army.

Lol, just teasing you

Ujnless you can get a supply of cheap wolves a cavalry based army could be expensive, even fpr a few models, for example, Canis Wolfborn is £30 here, which means a minimum $50 I reckon for just him.
Bispudlo, maximini and a few others do good wolves

Check out IA10 for SpaceShark stuff

I'd be doing all my own conversions, so other than trying to figure out the Buelettes... it should be pretty inexpensive. Just wondering what a good army would look like.

Well I will see what I can do to help with that, in IA10, the Space Sharks have a lot of tribal or even Mauri tattoos and designs on their armour.

What are buelettes?

Bulettes would need to be rebased in order to be Thunderwolf Cavalry models. The mini currently produced for them would seem sorta underwhelming with a space marine riding on top of it.

And for those that do not know what one looks like.

There is your landshark.

I kind of figured that I'd start with one of those and then either build it up or remake it with that figure as the model. Then I'd have to figure out how to cast the bloody thing. Still... would be a *really fun* long-term project.

It would be, if the mini Wizards produced looked anything like what that picture did.

I have three IIRC in a box in the states, because they never get used in the D&D games I play.

My original 1850 SW list can be found here. It has many of the classic elements TWC, TWC Lords, RP, LF and GH and is a fairly compact force. Its not 1500 but it may give you an idea as you scale down.

P.S. Hans was my opponent BTW.

Well, I've already started digging around on e-bay. If anyone has a source for those figs, especially the larger one (which I like better), please let me know.

@bt: Can you give me any details on that older fig? Who might have made it, anything?

Ask WarOne, he has plenty of D&D minis IIRC.

EDIT: Wizards of the Coast for the D&D miniatures game would be your source, that or asking mikhailia would possibly benefit you.

Thanks 1-i, I'll let you know when I get the figs in and can take some comparison shots. I'm sure it'll take a lot of slow work, but then what else is new.

@wyfox: Thanks, it'll make an interesting read.

@bebop: Just copper wire gently hammered into place. I used to do jewelry work so working with metals is pretty comfortable.

@CK: not a bad suggestion... I'll keep it in mind should the D&D figures prove unusable.

@btemple0: I expected that... just a matter of are they usable at all or just useful as an image to be used as a basis for a new model. I may well hack them up and modify them even if they are usable.

You could use a Pangolin as the start, if you're going for the more plate-covered approach.

The fun thing is that the Buelette was actually based on one of those cheapo plastic dime-machine toys that were all the rage way back when- I actually have one of the toys the original Buelette was based off, and they're rather different looking.
