Does anyone know any rumors about when GW is going to stop releasing back to back Age of Sigmar models and finally get back to 40k codexes?

I'd rather they start focusing on releasing Forge World's HH Space Marines.

Good to hear.

But I guess that all Oldhammer factions will get a face lift.

Rumors have some sort of Chaos coming afterwards. Anything from Tzeetch Deamonkin to a new CSM codex, but it seems likely to be after Tau.

At some point early next year we're looking at maybe Kroot Mercs if that rumor is true. (I hope).

The Tau is looking at anywhere from a 2-4 kit release. New commander, new troops being split into two options, updates XV8, and a new missile riptide are all rumored. With most of those being rated very reliable. So 80% success rate with rumors.

If this turns out to be true and we get another troop choice made from the new FW box then it supports the Kroot Merc minidex idea. So it all depends. We'll know come October.

FW is rumored to working on a new SH skimmer tank for the Tau. Maybe some more goodies but we don't know.

I haven't seen anything age of sigmar related sell from our local store in a month. I don't know about other places, but 'round here, it was a huge flop and we're waiting for more 40k releases.

The speed is great.

The problem is just that the speed has had a disproportionately high cost in quality, which nobody asked for.

Mild rumor that I don't actually believe about Chaos end of this month. Usual suspects reporting on it. Natfka and BoLS. And a week or two week Grey Knight release somewhere in the mix which I also don't believe.

I might spend that much....over twenty years...for multiple playing table sets worth...for multiple games.

They really have lost it.

That $1,000 set will take up two-thirds of a 6x4 table, and that configuration (or that much scenery in any configuration) will be unusable for the overwhelming majority of players. It's really no different than GW giving you the price tag on all the models of the Warhammer World Eldar display. If you have 3 years to paint it, and a huge space, it might be usable, price aside.

It makes even less sense in AoS, where the game isn't meant for the 100 models it would take to man the walls and towers, and the other 100 models on the ground. And the 200 models assaulting it the fortress from 8 directions.

The intelligent use of it would be to buy a few pieces and configure it into a more reasonable-sized castle.

But anyways... yes.... 40k... GIMME.

Actually, I think chaos is before tau. late September I'd wager.

As for kroot mercs-it will never, ever happen. get used to it.
FW used to produce many kroot, and they got dropped due to irrelevant sales (mostly due to god aweful rules), so no new kroot to justify a minidex will come out.

I would actually love to play AoS. I've read the rules, and it seems like fun to me. I play at a GW shop, so AoS is pretty much the only Fantasy ruleset you can play there right now. They will have like throwback nights where you can play 8th edition. But, it's all AoS otherwise.

Anyway, I would love to play, but I'm not interested in Stormcast Eternals or Khorne. I want to play Vampire Counts, but a base army would probably run me about $200 (which I just don't have to spend on WH right now).

Sorry to interrupt, but when you say chaos do you mean daemons or CSM? I know a new daemon engine is to be released which causes me to suspect the latter would be the case.

Considering the only Chaos "rumors" right now are from BoLS & Naftka, alongside a, "hey guys, my local GW manager who knows I'm a Chaos nut said keep some cash set aside!" post from some random forum user, I wouldn't be holding your breath on any of this BS even being remotely legit...
Sad Panda has emphatically stated, multiple times that there's nothing else for 40k Chaos ANYTHING! in 2015. His rumors thus far have been spot on, while BoLS at this point seems to be simply chugging down a few cans of Alphabits soup, spewing the crap up, and seeing how it lands across the floor and then calling it "rumors".

As for who a new Daemon Engine would be for? My money would hedge it on CSM's, simply because it's the absolute last thing that poor model line needs, but GW doesn't care enough anymore to actually put any kind of effort into revitalising & updating their ugliest and most ancient 'in-store' army.

That's a shame, can only hope then. Thanks for the reply nonetheless.

You think CSM is the ugliest model range? Really?

Oh yeah. Codex Dinobots was atrocious and hideous. I might consider playing chaos if they got rid of the stupid robots and went back to being bad guy marines with spikey tanks and cool equipment.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Just being spiky marines with no self flavor they might as well nit exist

I don't know who you CSM players think you are kidding. If you do get a new codex, it will be the one where GW goes "Whoa, we need to dial it back on the power level on these codexes, people are starting to complain!"

Sometime this century, the IG will get an update. And it will completely miss the point.

My bet is that GW will start bringing 40k closer to AoS, even if it doesn't properly swap it over, so the AoS trend will continue for quite a long while.

Well each to their own I suppose. I for one do really like the CSM models for warp talons, the helldrake, and in particular the new hellbrute kit.

EDIT: They kind of have to exist being an integral part of the current setting.
