So, after 3 emails to the website, and asking in 4 different stores in various towns that I've been to recently, the GAME website has finally announced that those that pre-order the game will recieve the fancy cloth map.

That took a while, but means that I now need to come up with £32...

I've been replaying DA2 lately to get back into RPG mode. Is Skyrim gonna be like that, where no matter what you do you pretty much still get the same outcome in the end with just a few details different? Or open ended where anything can happen? I just don't want something so open ended that I end up wandering around lost aimlessly which is kinda what happened to me in Morrowind.

Probably getting it a day or two before release again.

I LOVE Game Mania.

And it's gonna be like Morrowind. Otherwise, blood will flow. The whole point to these games is fething about in whatever you want.

I'm bloody torn I am. Do I get it as a Christmas prezzie, and Get Saints Row the Third, with Professor Genki and the Invincible pack.

Or get the map and Skyrim now, and have a plain Saints Row for Crimbo. Dang thats a tough one.

Stop right there criminal scum!

And isn't that pretty much what Bethesda RPGs are all about, open worldness? I'd be surprised if someone bought say, Oblivion and said "Damn, I didn't expect to just go anywhere. I thought it'd be a long series of corridors (tubes)".

OK maybe a better question would be ... is a hint book gonna be pretty much mandatory? I mean, I do wanna get to the end, but I don't mind always having side quests to do too. I just don't wanna get stuck in the middle somewhere and just get bored and move onto something else.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!

I was planning on popping into town during one of my free periods and get it on friday, but I suddenly remembered earlier that I'm not 18, so I'm gonna have to wait till saturday so my dad can verify that I can get it when he picks me up from school.

No getting it on the release day for me

Looks like less than 5 hours of sleep on friday night for me then, followed by school the next day.

I'm going to be so very very tired.

meh, you get used to it after 7 years.

It's only the mornings as well, and we have 10 week summer holidays, and an extra week for most half terms as well, so it balances out.

I don't see how you can get bored with these kind of games unless you have done everything.. that might just be me though.

I'll admit that I used the wiki for oblivion because I wanted to get it out of the way by the end of the summer holidays.

I get obsessed with a certain thing until either it bores me or I finish it, so I forced myself to finish it very quickly so I wouldn't have that "Just five more minutes" thing going on during term time, when I have my A level exams coming up.

Which kind of begs the question of why am I allowing myself to buy Skyrim during term time anyway?

I read the entire oblivion wiki two years before ever playing the game meaning I could half remember some of the things while experience the game in general as a new game.

It was really weird.

I always start using wiki's on second playthroughs or when I want to do something really specific. Like model my entire character around certain items for the hell of it.

I don't wanna rush through the game, I wanna be able to do it all.. I just remember playing morrowind on my old Xbox, I was on vacation and I never left the house for the whole 9 days. But by that time I was just kinda wandering around not knowing what else I needed to do, and I guess some other game caught my attention and then I never went back

I went to Gamestop to preorder it tonight, and there was a mob of like 100 people out there. Apparently waiting for midnight madness for MW3. There was an energy drink truck out there too. I couldn't even get near the door so I'll just go back tomorrow I guess.

I only used the Oblivion wiki a few months ago, when I played it once more before selling it a buddy of mine, and that was to do the Daedra shrines. Im one of those guys that likes to do a TV show style game. You know, wander from one adventure to another with no real rhyme or reason to it Its funner that way

So who else is going to try and become a werewolf as soon as possible?

I saw some game footage of it and it was pretty awesome. When you feed on people blood goes flying everywhere. You can run really fast and leap up on houses rather easy.
