Weirdly I own the original issue of WD that came with the air vent pieces for Space Hulk. I guess it's an update to that concept.

Excellent - shame they didn't include some free board sections that could be scanned. Still think I've got my vents kicking about - time to break them out and put them to use!

Also, one hopes that these new rules will result in a demand for and eventual permanent re-release of Space Hulk.

Hoping this arrives today for us subscribers here in the colonies since I'll be heading out of town for NOVA tomorrow.

By out of town I mean 45 minutes away from home, but it is a different state!

It looks to me this is more like the old white dwarf format. I loved those old white dwarfs, as they had two pages of commercials, and all the rest were hobby related from all three game systems.

The more content they add (extra missions, datasheets, eavy metal painting tutorials, gameplay reviews, etc,), the better it will be. I had gone from years of subscriptions to only buying one or two weekly issues for their one page of content. Time for another subscription!

actually aside from Dakka I've heard nothing but good things on my twitter and few FB groups. Looking fwd to it tomorrow. Managed to not read it via pics of pages posted already. But what to do with the Slaughterpriest model... probably a conversion for event or a scenic base for my Fyreslayers heroes.

Got mine this morning. It is still ultimately a magazine designed to encourge you to buy gw products, but they are going about it in a better way now. The photography is excellent. The mag puts people front and centre whether that is writers, designers or painters. The magazine has reclaimed a little of its soul as a result.

The magazine is big, heavy and printed on very good quality paper. It feels like a premium product.

This white dwarf is not perfect. Aside from the uniquely painted nurgle army, the 4 warlords article is not very interesting and the painting section is still too simple but it is a very promising start.

Exciting news for those of you who've been waiting for digital White Dwarf. Tomorrow from 10am (UK time) you can get the brand-new White Dwarf App for iOS and Android! This free App is your gateway to digital White Dwarf, allowing you to subscribe or purchase individual issues. What's more, we can now offer a combined subscription – that's right, for one great price you can get the printed White Dwarf delivered to your door and sign in to the App to download the digital version!
Check out www.games-workshop.com from tomorrow morning for all the details (and we'll post a link here to remind you, of course).

Just built the Slaughterpriest after reading for an hour in the magazine. Well worth the money. I think this is the first time in about three or four years a WD comes with enough content to not make you read through it in a 10 minute session and you start browsing back and forth as you start feeling you can use more than one or two articles from it as it was in the near past. Will get back to it tomorrow as I havent read the Deathwatch designer interview and the battle report yet. I am looking forward to issue #2 with its Deathwatch Battle Report (vs Tyranids) and hope it will bring a similiar amount of gaming articles (rules).

The UK edition arrived here in Germany a day before release which never happened with Visions, always being 2 weeks and more late.

I would rate it 8 out of 10 in a White Dwarf scale. It is a house magazine and it shows. 6 or 7 when compared with other tabletop magazines like the german Tabletop Insider. Which is to be fair not a monthly but a quarterly magazine. The new WD is quite a good magazine but still has areas it can significantly improve in.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

it is an issue of the new comic, not a model. Hopefully issue #3 comes with something good, though.

I'm on holiday at the moment, all inclusive, sunshine, beaches, no job to worry about right now, though I'm actually - in some ways - excited for the moment I get back just to have a skeg at WD.

That's probably just for the freebie though. Yorkshiremen love freebies haha.

Midwestern Americans love freebies too! I am hoping my issue arrives tomorrow or Saturday so I have something to read if/while my patients sleep.

I am probably going to sell off the Slaughterpriest either here or on eBay. No need for him.

Just grabbed mine on my lunch break: looking forward to having a read. Especially the battle report (I hope it's good), always loved those. I always remember one of my favorite bat reps - Adrian Wood with his orks, against Paul Sawyer's surrounded imperial guard, who actually won the match. I can't remember now what it was called.. I remember there being a picture of Adrian going "that's my dreadnought!" and then a picture of Paul with his head in his hands going "That's his dreadnought!"

I'm not particularly interested in this issues content but I bought it out of good will. Fantastic issue, very big.lots of useful guides etc.

The slaughter priest will be fantastic for zombicide the black plague. I hope the free model will become a semi regular occurrence, maybe once or twice a year? They could treat it as an opportunity to promote a new range, such as when a fantasy army gets updated for AOS -include a free model and possibly entice players to start collecting that new army. The old Battle Games in Middle Earth magazines were way before my time (by the time I became aware of it, it was nearing the end of its lifespan) but I know that the mini with every issue was a big part of the appeal.

My friend has just started painting so he'll have a use for the paint guides (I use Vallejo, whereas he has the entire gw paint range). He also happens to be a tau player so the tau fire warrior conversion guide at the back might be useful.

It's in stores already? And I still don't have my subscription copy. I thought they were supposed to send it out early to subscribers so we have it before it hits the stores?

Nothing, its just a very simple guide on how to alter poses, etc. For a veteran its not much use but my friend is a novice hobbyist and it'll probably be useful for him (by novice I mean he's never really bothered much with painting and converting he's more of a gamer, but I've been helping him learn how to paint late!y).

Specifically, its more of an assembly guide for the fire warriors from the tau - raven guard kill team box set.

It's actually possible that it could be a Monday delivery. Some areas have dedicated drivers for doing deliveries on off-days(they're usually the ones who are doing Amazon Prime drop-offs on Sundays for example) who don't do standard mail but instead do rush deliveries/sensitive materials.
