Ahh, OK. So it was just me being fuzzy-headed in the morning Err, that is 'morning' in the fact that I'd just got up, not actual time of day outside.

I can well imagine - my work offered me 70 squidsfor 6 hours a night to help supervise a refit of our shop but I said no thanks I'm sure plenty of other people need the money. I really didin't fancy having my body clock turned upsidown for a week! It takes just as long to get back to daytime as it does to get used to the nights in the first place! good luck with it all I hope they are paying you more for it...

I don't mind switching my body clock for a week or so, as long as it's not a regular occurence, my body almost prefers a kind of night shift, but having to switch back to do Saturday day, then back to nights on Monday - Ughh!

Money will be good, but tbh myself and the other manager really need to be there to make sure it get sorted the way we want it. But this time of year, with a boat to dry and frozen water pipes again it's not pretty (Nasty cold weather - since November I've already spent more days with no water than in the previous 5 years)

Some minis. Necromancer is just a cool model and he can be chaos sorceror. Two really old khorne marines. And The finished orlock. I really like my orlocks and want more.

at neil that would be "stumm" as in quiet...its however pronounced "schtumm"... thats a very difficult sound in german as you english talking ones have only the s-t sound as i gather...as in stop...

There is a wargames retailer in the US that actually made 28mm minis of Zardoz (Sean Connery and several Exterminators). Unfortunately (or fortunately) they sold out of the Sean Connery minis and just have exterminators left.

Can't imagine why anyone wanted those...

for the lulz.

I think just having sean connery in a mankini made it worth a model!

What does "grub" mean?!? The only previous place I heard it was in the video game Gears of War : "One dead grub!!", but always thought it was a nickname or short for "grunt", or something like that...

True...but there is one thing worse than grub and that's having no grub when you're hungry. I'd even eat SoS when the weather was cold and damp and I was hungry.

Yggs - haven't played Gears but I'd guess in that context it's being used to refer to maggots or the like, but in the UK we refer to food as grub (pub-grub for a start ), and army rations as scran. Although obviously, as anywhere there's a whole bunch of regional variations.

And you're nearly good, we'd say "J'ai mangé liquide hier soir" ('Je mange' is present, and 'liquide' is used as an adjective here, so no 'le').

Yeah, linguists usually have a knack for learning all sorts of languages in a short amount of time, that's quite infuriating...

And, erh, yeah, should I have known this word 'endearing', I'd have used it in place of cute... But it doesn't need to be 'very badly done' to be 'endearing'... All English native speakers (male or female) have a really charming ( ) tone when they speak French..

here in germany we also speak of liquide food...we call it "flüssiges Brot" traslates to liquide bread as most of the ingriedients found in bread are too in beer...cheers...
