We also have something close, it's the "slice of hop" ('tartine de houblon'), as in "slice of bread & butter", but just with one of the special ingredients of beer...

Aber 'flüssiges' Brot ist ganz gut also!!!

MMM Beer. Merry Chitmass everyone I'm off to drink, eat and be merry with friends. Like everyone else I will not be getting much painting or modelling done for a while. All that wine and turkey and still more goose sandwhiches followed by goose soup and washed down with a chicken, quail and slice of beef. I am in charge of pudding at our feast tonight - Brandy, clotted cream and plum pudding I think

Do I detect an emphasis on the brandy part of that recipe?

I guess your English teacher was full of wisdom...

I mean, I never suffered from starvation in the UK, but I saw some of the weirdest meals in my life... As in, pizzas drenched in soup (who does that?) or the infamous 'fudge' : 1/3 butter, 1/3 sugar, 1/3 sweetened condensed milk (how can you imagine that)...

But I have to admit, the English breakfast is far better than ours (yum, yum, bacon, beans, eggs, toasts... )

However we concede to you Americans in the 'general sandwich' category for peanut butter & jelly.

Well, some of us do, there are still a few heretics around who fail to see that it really is a winning combination.

Well, that was during my first trip to GB, back in... 1995? Something like that... The family who hosted us had weird ways when it came to 'cuisine'...

American soldiers frequently use the term "grub" for food - similiar to the English.

SoS is an acronym (the US Army loves acronyms) for Sh*t on a Shingle which is a piece of bread or toast with a greyish looking gravy on top. We used to get it in the old days, but I don't think I've seen it anywhere in recent years except for breakfast.

And to get back to Weety's blog...I really like the Necromunda figs. I have a warband of something or other that is unpainted - the guys with the masks but not the religious pointy hat guys. I'm saving them for Inquisimunda or a 40K skirmish game.

Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward those that deserve it...for everyone else...there is only War! Hope you get a good drink of something you like. I'm hoping to try a good Scotch or Brandy.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

My variation on the peanut butter ansd jellly sanwhich - I'm not really into jelly so - lightly toasts the bread, peanet butter then crush cheese and onion crisps into it, then a slice or two of proccessed ham, then mayo.

favourite pizza - curry pizza with bannana slices...
I have been known when poor to put anything on toast to make it go further. noodles, curry, stirfry, leftovers, soup.

But if given the opportunity and the budget I make a good roast.

I think I might have both the time and the inclination to paint today! who knows...

Peanut butter and cheese - preferably a nice strong cheddar - is another good one. Soup on toast ? How's that work ? I'll sometimes have a pot noodle sandwich at work, towards the end of the month

Nice haul there, don't remember that renegade marine. Do remember thinking the pirate was fun to paint -and to re-paint, never actually finished the armoured dude, think I may have stripped him recently.

Nice new bunch , really like the space eunuch, i have never seen the middle left 2 or the bottom eft 2 before , where do you dig 'em up from, some long forgotten gw store that has re-emerged from the warp in you attic, resplendant with blue and yellow jumper wearing staff , and a full catologue of blister pack metal minis from 1987 . Merry Xmas to you too!

ähem, seeing your supposed space eunuch, he does raise a question...was he just recently put in his "recent" position or why is is codpiece so darn big? either he has some pretty thick bandages under that or he is just sporting something that when erected will create a big diversion ...

just asking and speculating...

by the way we have survived the christmess...pun intended...

so here is hoping you survive your tomorrow too..^^

morning...afternoon..evening....depends on when we get up really vik Glad you survived though

Very handy having a multi-tool attachment on your eunuch. Keeps the crumbs off ones uniform with the vac, keeps the shirts crisp with the starcher-iron, and the immersion heater's just the ticket for brewing a good cuppa whilst one watches one's troops go at it.

Well I've heard that some uncivilised folks don't bother with re-plumbing their eunuchs when they get done, might as well do a proper job whilst you've got the tools out though, as our good doctor likes to say.
